      • Design of On-line Monitoring System for Intelligent Package Substation based on WSN and GPRS

        An idea of applying wireless sensor network and GPRS to intelligent package substation on-line monitoring system is brought to light in this paper. Network schemes of intelligent package substation are given based on wireless sensor network and GPRS. The detailed analysis has also been made on some key technologies. At the same time, the combination of special CT and accumulators is adopted to solve the power supply shortage of sensor nodes effectively. To reduce the routing hops and improve the transmission efficiency, the two-layer and three-cluster of network structure is used. Finally, the on-line monitoring system of transformer room is taken as an example, it is discussed how to obtained optimal layout of sensor nodes. The paper also points out which can be taken as the research focus in the future such as intellectualized reconstruction of package substation, network security and clock synchronization.

        High Plasticity of the Gut Microbiome and Muscle Metabolome of Chinese Mitten Crab (Eriocheir sinensis) in Diverse Environments

        Phenotypic plasticity is a rapid response mechanism that enables organisms to acclimate and survive in changing environments. The Chinese mitten crab (Eriocheir sinensis) survives and thrives in different and even introduced habitats, thereby indicating its high phenotypic plasticity. However, the underpinnings of the high plasticity of E. sinensis have not been comprehensively investigated. In this study, we conducted an integrated gut microbiome and muscle metabolome analysis on E. sinensis collected from three different environments, namely, an artificial pond, Yangcheng Lake, and Yangtze River, to uncover the mechanism of its high phenotypic plasticity. Our study presents three divergent gut microbiotas and muscle metabolic profiles that corresponded to the three environments. The composition and diversity of the core gut microbiota (Proteobacteria, Bacteroidetes, Tenericutes, and Firmicutes) varied among the different environments while the metabolites associated with amino acids, fatty acids, and terpene compounds displayed significantly different concentration levels. The results revealed that the gut microbiome community and muscle metabolome were significantly affected by the habitat environments. Our findings indicate the high phenotypic plasticity in terms of gut microbiome and muscle metabolome of E. sinensis when it faces environmental changes, which would also facilitate its acclimation and adaptation to diverse and even introduced environments.

        Assessment of Esophageal Motor Disorders Using High-resolution Manometry in Esophageal Dysphagia With Normal Endoscopy

        Background/Aims The distribution and esophageal motor characteristics of Chinese patients with esophageal dysphagia who exhibit no structural abnormalities on esophagogastroduodenoscopy remain unclear. Our aim is to assess the esophageal motor patterns using high-resolution manometry (HRM) and classify them according to the Chicago classification version 3.0 (CC v3.0). Furthermore, we compared the CC v3.0 and the previous version 2.0 (CC v2.0) for diagnosis of motor disorders. Methods Two hundred thirty-six (mean age 48.4 ± 12.2 years, 61.9% female) patients with esophageal dysphagia were included for analysis of motor function using HRM. All participants were administered a questionnaire to determine Eckardt scores before HRM. Results According to the CC v3.0, 57 (24.2%) patients showed evidence of esophagogastric junction outflow obstruction and were classified as Group 1. Eighteen (7.6%) patients with major disorders of peristalsis were classified as Group 2. Minor disorders of peristalsis (Group 3) were much more frequent (129 [54.7%] patients). Thirty-two (13.6%) patients had normal esophageal manometry were classified as Group 4. All patients with abnormal pH or pH impedance monitoring (n = 44) had minor motor disorders (ineffective esophageal motility [IEM] = 34, fragmented peristalsis = 10). Based on motor category, the Eckardt score was 4.7 ± 0.1 in Group 1, 4.5 ± 0.3 in Group 2, 3.5 ± 0.1 in Group 3, and 3.9 ± 0.1 in Group 4. Conclusions IEM was the most common esophageal motor disorder in patients with esophageal dysphagia who showed no structural abnormality on endoscopy. While a high Eckardt score suggests outflow obstruction or a major motor disorder, a low score suggests IEM.

        CYP19 gene variant confers susceptibility to endometriosis-associated infertility in Chinese women

        An aromatase encoded by the CYP19 gene catalyzes the final step in the biosynthesis of estrogens, which is related to endometriosis development. To assess the association of CYP19 gene polymorphisms with the risks of endometriosis, chocolate cysts and endometriosis-related infertility, a case–control study was conducted in Chinese Han women by recruiting 225 healthy control females, 146 patients with endometriosis, 94 endometriosis women with chocolate cyst and 65 women with infertility resulting from endometriosis, as diagnosed by both pathological and laparoscopic findings. Individual genotypes atrs2236722:T4C, rs700518:A4G, rs10046:T4C and [TTTA]n polymorphisms were identified. Allelic and genotypic frequencies were compared between the control group and case groups by chi-square analysis. Odds ratios (ORs) and 95% confidence intervals (95% CIs) were determined by logistic regression analysis to predict the association of CYP19 gene polymorphisms with the risk of endometriosis, the related chocolate cysts and infertility. The genotype distributions of the tested CYP19 gene polymorphisms were not significantly different between the healthy control group and the endometriosis/endometriosis with the chocolate cyst group. However, the CYP19 rs700518AA genotype was significantly associated with an increased risk of endometriosis-related infertility (55.4% in the infertility group vs 25.3% in the control group, Po0.001;OR (95% CI): 3.66 (2.06–6.50)) under the recessive form of the A allele. Therefore, we concluded that in Chinese Han females CYP19 gene polymorphisms are not associated with susceptibility to endometriosis or chocolate cysts, whereas CYP19 rs700518AA genotype confers genetic susceptibility to endometriosis-related infertility.

        Research on Temperature Points Selection of the Non-source Temperature Calibration Method Based on Pyrometer Transfer Function

        The non-source temperature calibration method of the multi-spectral pyrometer (MSP), put forward in the previous article, is the non-source calibration method based on the MSP transfer function (NCCTF). In this paper, the practicability of NCCTF is researched. The situations that maybe encountered of the temperature points in the actual calibration process are simulated. The impact of the intervals temperature points of different number and unequal intervals temperature points on the NCCTF accuracy are researched theoretically to determine the temperature points select method. Simulation experimental results show that the NCCTF can meet the actual calibration process with good usability.

        Drug Reaction with Eosinophilia and Systemic Symptoms Associated with Reactivation of Epstein-Barr Virus and/or Cytomegalovirus Leading to Hemophagocytic Syndrome in One of Two Patients

        Drug reaction with eosinophilia and systemic symptoms (DRESS) is a hypersensitivity reaction characterized by maculopapular rash, exfoliative dermatitis, lymphadenopathy, fever, eosinophilia, and involvement of internal organs. Evidence for reactivation of herpes family viruses has been observed in some DRESS patients, and activated CD8+ T lymphocytes are largely directed against Epstein-Barr virus. Here, we report two cases complicated with this infection. Both patients received antibiotics and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. These patients manifested clinically with high fever, facial edema, diffuse pruritic erythroderma and maculopapules over the entire body, purpuric rashes in both lower limbs and lymphadenopathy of cervical and inguinal nodes. Laboratory tests revealed abnormal liver function, blood eosinophils, and ferritin levels. The patients recovered completely; however, the female patient developed hemophagocytic syndrome on the 15th day of illness. She developed new itchy rash, and laboratory tests rapidly worsened with fibrinogen levels dramatically reduced to 0.61 g/L. Bone marrow aspiration revealed an increased number of macrophages with hemophagocytosis and a reversed CD4/CD8 ratio of 0.45. These cases suggest that human herpes virus and coagulation function evaluations are necessary in DRESS patients. (Ann Dermatol 30(1) 71∼74, 2018)

        Numerical simulation of a regenerative thermal oxidizer for volatile organic compounds treatment

        As regulations governing the control of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) have become increasingly stringent in China, regenerative thermal oxidizers (RTOs) have been more frequently applied in medium- and high-concentration VOCs treatments. However, due to the lack of existing RTO-related research, experience remains a dominant factor for industrial application. This paper thus aimed to establish a model for industrial RTOs, using a transient simulation method and thermal equilibrium model to simulate the internal velocities and temperature distributions of an RTO across multiple cycles. A comparison showed an error of less than 5% between most correlating simulated and experimental measurement points, verifying that the simulation method was accurate. After verification, the velocity and temperature fields inside the RTO were simulated to study the uniformity of temperature and velocity within the packed beds: both fields displayed high uniformity after gas flowed through the honeycomb regenerator. The effects of air volume, VOCs concentrations, and valve switching times on the oxidation chamber temperature, RTO outlet temperature, and thermal efficiency (as well as their averages) were studied. The VOCs removal rate in this study was constantly above 98%, and the average thermal efficiency reached 90%.

      • An Improved DMRS Design Scheme of LTE-Advanced Uplink

        The 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) Long Term Evolution (LTE) uplink supports only a single antenna transmission. However, in order to improve the uplink spectrum efficiency, support multiple antenna transmission in LTE-Advanced. Meanwhile, taking into account backwards compatibility for LTE. LTE-Advanced De-Modulation Reference Signal (DMRS) needs to be designed [1]. According to requirement of LTE-Advanced uplink pilot design, introducing orthogonal cover code (OCC) as a supplement, analysis and study of the current problems, proposes a Circular Shift (CS), Group/Sequence Hopping (GSH) and the OCC joint instructions method of pilot design. Finally, simulation and analysis of the performance of this scheme. Results show that this scheme can meet LTE- Advanced demand for pilot design well.

        A Novel Approach for Sericin-Conjugated Silver Nanoparticle Synthesis and Their Potential as Microbicide Candidates

        Silver nanoparticles have been widely applied for biomedical areas owing to their potent antiviral and antibacterial activities. Synthesis of silver nanoparticles using biomacromolecules is more efficient, environment-friendly, and cost-saving compared with the traditional approach. In this paper, a novel approach was developed to establish a reaction system with Ag<sup>+</sup>-BH4--sericin to synthesize silver nanoparticles conjugated to sericin (AgNPs-Sericin). Sericin could be as a good dispersant and stabilizing agent, which is able to modify nanoscaled AgNPs, the average diameter of which was only 3.78 ± 1.14nm prepared in a 0.3 mg/ml sericin solution. The characterizations of the AgNPs-Sericin were determined by FTIR, thermogravimetry, and XRD analyses. The results showed that the synthesized AgNPs conjugated with sericin as organic phase. Via SAED and XRD analysis, we showed that these AgNPs formed polycrystalline powder with a face-centered cubic structure of bulk metals. Moreover, we investigated the antiviral and antibacterial activities of AgNPs-Sericin, and the results showed that AgNPs-Sericin exhibited potent anti-HIV-1 activity against CCR5-tropic and CXCR4-tropic strains, but no significant cytotoxicity was found toward human genital epithelial cells compared with free silver ions, which are accepted as a commonly used potent antimicrobial agent. Moreover, its antibacterial activity was determined via flow cytometry. The results showed that AgNPs-Sericin could suppress gram-negative (E. coli) and grampositive (S. aureus) bacteria, but more was potent for the gram-negative one. We concluded that our AgNPs-Sericin could be a potential candidate as a microbicide or antimicrobial agent to prevent sexually transmitted infections.

        An experimental study on cavitation erosion-corrosion performance of ANSI 1020 and ANSI 4135 steel

        Cavitation erosion is quite complex, containing corrosion-erosion interaction effect. High temperature oxidization may be aroused after bubble collapse, accompanied by hot gas contacting with the pump component surface. The analysis of the erosion pits can be an effective way to know the mechanism of cavitation erosion. In present paper, the cavitation erosion resistance of carbon steel (ANSI 1020) and alloy steel (ANSI 4135) were tested in an ultrasonic vibration apparatus. By using energy dispersive X-ray spectroscope and three dimensional laser microscope, the chemical composition around erosion pits and the oxidation film structure were analyzed. By using metallographic microscope and scanning electronic microscope, the metallographic structure of specimens (e.g., carbon steel and alloy steel), the nano structured iron oxide and corresponding influence on specimen’s anti-erosion performance were discussed. Based on the comparison between the different tests performed in distilled water and tap water respectively, results can be obtained that erosion rate of carbon steel and alloy steel varies with the component of water which had close correlation to the oxidation effect. Erosion rate of alloy steel 4135 was much lower in distilled water compared to tap water while the difference of carbon steel 1020 was not that large. The remarkable different responses of these two materials had close relationship with oxidation effect. The oxidation effect transferred the original structure of alloy steel surface which had high anti-erosion capability, into newly generated iron oxide structure, which was preferentially to be attacked. The pumping of slightly corrosive fluids frequently leads to erosion-corrosion damage on impellers, and corrosion can further amplify the erosion process.
