The antiproliferative effects of all the target molecules on A549 cell growth were investigated and it was found that the 14 novel compounds could suppress A549 lung cancer cell growth. Among them, compound 6b was the most effective compound in inhibiting the proliferation of A549 cells.
A Novel Method for Compensating Phase Voltage Based on Online Calculating Compensation Time
Wang, Mingyu,Wang, Dafang,Zhou, Chuanwei,Liang, Xiu,Dong, Guanglin The Korean Institute of Power Electronics 2019 JOURNAL OF POWER ELECTRONICS Vol.19 No.2
Dead time and the nonideal characteristics of components all lead to phase voltage distortions. In order to eliminate the harmful effects caused by distortion, numerous methods have been proposed. The efficacy of a method mainly depends on two factors, the compensation voltage amplitude and the phase current polarity. Theoretical derivations and experiments are given to explain that both of these key factors can be deduced from the compensation time, which is defined as the error time between the ideal phase voltage duration and the actual phase voltage duration in one Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) period. Based on this regularity, a novel method for compensating phase voltage has been proposed. A simple circuit is constructed to realize the real-time feedback of the phase voltage. Utilizing the actual phase voltage, the compensation time is calculated online. Then the compensation voltage is derived. Simulation and experimental results show the feasibility and effectivity of the proposed method. They also show that the error voltage is decreased and that the waveform is improved.

Wang, Su-Fang,Lee, Jinhyuk,Wang, Wei,Si, Yue-Xiu,Li, Caiyan,Kim, Tae-Rae,Yang, Jun-Mo,Yin, Shang-Jun,Qian, Guo-Ying Adenine Press 2013 Journal of biomolecular structure & dynamics Vol.31 No.6

We studied the effects of Zn(2+) on creatine kinase from the Chinese soft-shelled turtle, Pelodiscus sinensis (PSCK). Zn(2+) inactivated the activity of PSCK (IC(50)?=?.079??.004?mM) following first-order kinetics consistent with multiple phases. The spectrofluorimetry results showed that Zn(2+) induced significant tertiary structural changes of PSCK with exposure to hydrophobic surfaces and that Zn(2+) directly induced PSCK aggregation. The addition of osmolytes such as glycine, proline, and liquaemin successfully blocked PSCK aggregation, recovering the conformation and activity of PSCK. We measured the ORF gene sequence of PSCK by rapid amplification of cDNA end and simulated the 3D structure of PSCK. The results of molecular dynamics simulations showed that eight Zn(2+) bind to PSCK and one Zn(2+) is predicted to bind in a plausible active site of creatine and ATP. The interaction of Zn(2+) with the active site could mostly block the activity of PSCK. Our study provides important insight into the action of Zn(2+) on PSCK as well as more insights into the PSCK folding and ligand-binding mechanisms, which could provide important insight into the metabolic enzymes of P. sinensis.

Background: Ginsenosides are the characteristic and principal components which manifest a variety of the biological and pharmacological activities of the roots and rhizomes of Panax ginseng (GRR). This study was carried out to qualitatively and quantitatively determine the ginsenosides in the cultivated and forest GRR. Methods: A rapid and sensitive ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography coupled with diode-array detector and quadrupole/time of flight tandem mass spectrometry (UPLC-DAD-QTOF-MS/MS) was applied to the qualitative analysis of ginsenosides and a 4000 QTRAP triple quadrupole tandem mass spectrometer (HPLC-ESI-MS) was applied to quantitative analysis of 19 ginsenosides. Results: In the qualitative analysis, all ingredients were separated in 10 min. A total of 131 ginsenosides were detected in cultivated and forest GRR. The method for the quantitative determination was validated for linearity, precision, and limits of detection and quantification. 19 representative ginsenosides were quantitated. The total content of all 19 ginsenosides in the forest GRR were much higher than those in the cultivated GRR, and were increased with the growing ages. Conclusion: This newly developed analysis method could be applied to the quality assessment of GRR as well as the distinction between cultivated and forest GRR.

Objective: To investigate the optimal timing of radiotherapy with alternating/sequential radio-chemotherapy for limited-stage small cell lung cancer (LS-SCLC). Methods: 91 patients with LS-SCLC were retrospectively analyzed and divided into two groups according to the number of chemotherapy cycles before radiotherapy. If the patient received radiotherapy after 3 cycles or fewer cycles of chemotherapy, classification was into the early group, if not, into the late group. All patients received 6 cycles of standard chemotherapy (EP/EC) and conventional radiotherapy (56 gy~ 60 gy/28 f ~30 f). Results: The response rate (RR) of the early and late groups were 85.7% and 81.6%, respectively, with no significant difference (p>0.05). In contrast, the progression-free survival (PFS) in the early group was better than that in the late group (11.8 months vs 9.86 months), and the difference was significant (p<0.05). There was no significant difference between two groups in adverse reactions, which gastrointestinal irritation and bone marrow suppression being the most common (p>0.05). Conclusions: Radiotherapy after 3 cycles or fewer cycles of chemotherapy does not bring significant benefits for RR of patients with LS-SCLC, but it could significantly prolong their PFS without increase in adverse reactions.
Simplified Rotor and Stator Resistance Estimation Method Based on Direct Rotor Flux Identification
Wang, Mingyu,Wang, Dafang,Dong, Guanglin,Wei, Hui,Liang, Xiu,Xu, Zexu The Korean Institute of Power Electronics 2019 JOURNAL OF POWER ELECTRONICS Vol.19 No.3
Since parameter mismatch seriously impacts the efficiency and stability of induction motor drives, it is important to accurately estimate the rotor and stator resistance. This paper introduces a method to directly calculate the rotor flux that is independent of stator and rotor resistance and electrical angle. It is based on obtaining the rotor and stator resistance using the model reference adaptive system (MRAS) method. The method has a lower computation burden and less adaptation time when compared with other rotor resistance estimation methods. This paper builds three coordinate frames to analyze the rotor flux error and rotor resistance error. A number of implementation issues are also considered.

Xiu Zhang,Xingyu Wang,Bei Wang,Takenao Sugi,Masatoshi Nakamura 제어로봇시스템학회 2008 제어로봇시스템학회 국제학술대회 논문집 Vol.2008 No.10
The paper presents an ongoing investigation of applying finite state machines (FSM) to drive a meal assistance robot based on electromyogram (EMG) signals. An adapting single-threshold method on EMG power is proposed to recognize different elevation gestures. Predefined control commands are output by FSM based on the extracted EMG features, and used to operate the robot. The performance of control mode is tested in efficiency and comfortableness by both subjective and objective indices. And the high performance of the EMG-control meal assistance robot makes it feasible for users with upper limbs motor disabilities.

The objective of this study is to design a meal assistance system operated by electromyogram (EMG) signals. The system consists of four parts, EMG data acquisition, onset analysis, control circuit and operation of meal assistance robot. An algorithm based on EMG power with adaptive threshold is proposed for onset analysis, and applied to the operation of robot via control circuit. The performance of EMG-control system is tested in rate of success and comfort by both subjective and objective indices. The results show EMG signals acquired from active muscles in a human body can be used as control signals for the apparatus, by the proposed onset detection algorithm with adaptive threshold. The high rate of success and comfort of meal assistance system operated by EMG signals guarantee its use for patients with disabled upper limbs.
Cloning and Expression of Mycobacterium bovis Secreted Protein MPB83 in Escherichia coli
Xiu-Yun, Jiang,Wang, Chun-Feng,Wang, Chun-Fang,Zhang, Peng-Ju,He, Zhao-Yang Korean Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biol 2006 Journal of biochemistry and molecular biology Vol.39 No.1
The gene encoding MPB83 from Mycobacterium bovis Vallee111 chromosomal DNA was amplified by using polymerase chain reaction (PCR) technique, and the PCR product was approximately 600bp DNA segment. Using T-A cloning technique, the PCR product was cloned into pGEM-T vector and the cloning plasmid pGEM-T-83 was constructed successfully. pGEM-T-83 and pET28a(+) were digested by BamHI and EcoRI double enzymes. The purified MPB83 gene was subcloned into the expression vector pET28a(+), and the prokaryotic expression vector pET28a-83 was constructed. Plasmid containing pET28a-83 was transformed into competence Escherichia coli BL21 (DE3). The bacterium was induced by isopropyl-$\beta$-D-thiogalactopyranoside (IPTG) and its lysates were loaded directly onto sodium dodecyl sulphate polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (SDS-PAGE), approximately 26 kDa exogenous protein was observed on the SDS-PAGE. The protein was analyzed using Western-blotting. The results indicated that the protein was of antigenic activity of M. bovis. The results were expected to lay foundation for further studies on the subunit vaccine and DNA vaccine of MPB83 gene in their prevention against bovine tuberculosis.

Lung cancer, one of the leading causes of cancer-related deaths, usually appears as solitary pulmonary nodules (SPNs) which are hard to diagnose using the naked eye. In this paper, curvelet-based textural features and clinical parameters are used with three prediction models [a multilevel model, a least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (LASSO) regression method, and a support vector machine (SVM)] to improve the diagnosis of benign and malignant SPNs. Dimensionality reduction of the original curvelet-based textural features was achieved using principal component analysis. In addition, non-conditional logistical regression was used to find clinical predictors among demographic parameters and morphological features. The results showed that, combined with 11 clinical predictors, the accuracy rates using 12 principal components were higher than those using the original curvelet-based textural features. To evaluate the models, 10-fold cross validation and back substitution were applied. The results obtained, respectively, were 0.8549 and 0.9221 for the LASSO method, 0.9443 and 0.9831 for SVM, and 0.8722 and 0.9722 for the multilevel model. All in all, it was found that using curvelet-based textural features after dimensionality reduction and using clinical predictors, the highest accuracy rate was achieved with SVM. The method may be used as an auxiliary tool to differentiate between benign and malignant SPNs in CT images.
