      • A Multicast Routing Algorithm Based on Prior Objective Nodes

        The minimum Steiner tree problem is an NP-complete problem in multicast routing algorithms. In this paper, an improved algorithm called the prior nodes minimum cost path heuristic (PNMPH) algorithm is presented according to the shortage of the minimum cost path heuristic (MPH) algorithm, in which some paths that pass through prior destination nodes are selected first. It partly shares links in the network and decreases the cost of the multicast routing tree. It is also closer to the optimal solution with the time complexity O(n3). The simulation results on the existing networks show that the cost of the PNMPH algorithm is lower than that of the MPH algorithm in the case of more than 90%.

      • An Approximation Scheme for Optimal Multicast Routing with Multiple QoS Constrains

        This paper studies the problem of optimal multicast routing with multiple Quality-of- Service (QoS) constrains (OMRMC), which is regarded as a critical component in networks. However, it is not very efficient and effective for the existing algorithms. An undirected and connected graph G with m edges and n nodes is modeled to find a multicast routing tree from source to destination subset D in this paper, and a novel approximation algorithm called APP-OMRMC is proposed for OMRMC. The theoretical validations for the proposed method are presented to show its efficiency. After that, the different networks with different types of service are evaluated. Experimental results show that the proposed method APP-OMRMC is capable of finding the optimal (or minimum-cost) multicast routing tree with the approximation factor (1+ε) and time complexity of O(mτK-1).

        Establishment and evaluation of a murine anb3-integrinexpressing cell line with increased susceptibility to Foot-and-mouth disease virus

        Integrin anb3 plays a major role in various signaling pathways, cell apoptosis, and tumor angiogenesis. To examine the functions and rolesof anb3 integrin, a stable CHO-677 cell line expressing the murine anb3 heterodimer (designated as “CHO-677-manb3” cells) wasestablished using a highly efficient lentiviral-mediated gene transfer technique. Integrin subunits an and b3 were detected at the gene andprotein levels by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and indirect immunofluorescent assay (IFA), respectively, in the CHO-677-manb3 cellline at the 20th passage, implying that these genes were successfully introduced into the CHO-677 cells and expressed stably. A plaque-formingassay, 50% tissue culture infective dose (TCID50), real-time quantitative reverse transcription-PCR, and IFA were used to detect the replicationlevels of Foot-and-mouth disease virus (FMDV) in the CHO-677-manb3 cell line. After infection with FMDV/O/ZK/93, the cell line showeda significant increase in viral RNA and protein compared with CHO-677 cells. These findings suggest that we successfully established a stableanb3-receptor-expressing cell line with increased susceptibility to FMDV. This cell line will be very useful for further investigation of anb3integrin, and as a cell model for FMDV research.

        Analysis of inner flow in low specific speed centrifugal pump based on LES

        To investigate unsteady flow in the low specific speed centrifugal pump, a three-dimensional model of a pump that ns is equal to 50 is modeled with the software Pro/E. With standard k-ε, SST k-ω and RNG k-ε turbulence model, the testing performance of pump is compared with the simulated results. Based on the result of steady flow, the unsteady flow of RNG k-ε turbulence model and large eddy simulation (LES) are calculated at both design and off-design conditions. The time domain of pressure fluctuation value of indicator points, which are located interfaces between volute and impeller, has been investigated numerically. The unsteady flow characteristic of pump with RNG k-ε turbulence model is compared with LES. The distribution of vortex in the volute is discovered. The results show that in steady flow, an error of 2.6% of RNG k-ε is the lowest, SST k-ω of 3.65% is second and the worst is standard k-ε of 4.78% at design condition. The calculated precision using RNG k-ε model is highest in steady condition. Because of the interaction of relative movement between volute and impeller, the pressure fluctuation can clearly be observed. The flow separation of the blade pressure surface and the stall channels in off-designed condition is the reason that the efficiency of pump operating under off-design condition is low. The vortex intensity is obviously different in the eight sections of the volute and is gradually increasing from first section to eighth section. Large eddy simulation can discover the unsteady flow of the centrifugal pump effectively.

      • An Adaptive Orthogonal M-Split Initialization Method for VQ Codebook Generation

        Linde–Buzo–Gray (LBG) algorithm is a universal method to design codebook in vector quantization(VQ). This paper proposed an adaptive orthogonal M-split initialization method to improve the computational efficiency of LBG algorithm. The method splits one code word into 2, 4 or 5 new code words with adaptive split coefficient vectors and set the increment to be orthogonal in 4-split and 5-split situations, aiming at decreasing the iterations of the following clustering. Experiment is conducted on both TIMIT and RASC863 speech database, which shows that the proposed algorithm provides a reduction of 18%~45% in designing codebook in size of 64~2048 with almost equal VQ performance, compared with the universal codebook generation algorithm.

        Effect of Heat Treatment on the Microstructure and Properties of High Strain Rate Rolled 7050 Aluminum Alloy

        High strain rate rolling (HSRR) is developed to improve the strength, plasticity and stress corrosion resistance of 7050 aluminumalloy simultaneously. The volume fraction of the small-angle grain boundary in the HSRRed alloy sheet is 89.9%. TEM shows that the presence of dislocations and sub-grains promotes the precipitation of the second phase. The alloy inthe T6 state has the highest strength (622 MPa) and the biggest elongation to rupture (20.6%), but poor corrosion resistance. The over-aged state shows the best corrosion resistance. The RRA state can achieve the tensile strength equivalent to T6 of614 MPa, the highest yield strength of 561 MPa and corrosion resistance comparable to the over-aged state. TEM observationshows the existence of sub-grains and dislocations plays an important role in the nucleation of the second phase. Thehigh strength can be attributed to the higher volume fraction of the precipitates, and the high plasticity can be attributed tothe higher work hardening rate. The better corrosion resistance can be ascribe to the wider precipitate-free zones at the grainboundary and the presence of the larger size second phase particles.

        The path analysis of carbon emission reduction: A case study of the Silk Road Economic Belt

        This paper uses super-efficiency DEA model and Malmquist index to evaluate the carbon emission efficiency (CEE) values of the nine western provinces along the “Silk Road Economic Belt” for the period from 2000 to 2015, and analyses the influencing factors of the CEE. The major findings of this study are the following: (1) the overall CEE of the nine western provinces is not high, and there are significant inter-provincial differences in the CEE. Meanwhile, the provinces with higher levels of economic development generally have higher CEE. (2) The annual total factor productivity (TFP) of the nine western provinces, which is mainly determined by technological change, is greater than 1. Moreover, the total average growth rate of the TFP is 15.5%. (3) The CEE of the nine western provinces is not spatially dependent. In addition, the urbanization, openness, use of energy-saving technologies and research and development (R&D) investment have a significant positive impact on the CEE values, while the industrial structure, foreign direct investment, fixed asset investment, government expenditure levels and energy structure have a significant negative impact on the CEE. Among them, R&D investment is the primary factor in promoting the development of CEE, and the government expenditure has the greatest negative impact on the CEE.

        Molecular Cloning and Expression of Forkhead Transcription Factor O1 Gene from Pig Sus scrofa

        Foxo1 plays an important role in the integration of hormone-activated signaling pathways with the complex transcriptional cascade that promotes preadipocyte differentiation of clonal cell lines from rodents. We isolated the full-length cDNA of porcine FoxO1 gene using RACE, confirmed by visual Northern blotting. The deduced amino acids indicated 94% and 90% identities with the corresponding human and mice aa. Analysis of the aa sequence, showed that it included a Forkhead domain (aa 167-247), a transmembrane structure domain (aa 90-113), a LXXLL motif (aa 469-473), and 51 Ser, 8 Thr, and 4 Tyr phosphorylation sites, indicating a potential important role for FoxO1 transcriptional activity in vivo. Using the IMpRH panel, we mapped FoxO1 gene to chromosome 11p13. Our data provide basic molecular information useful for the further investigation on the function of FoxO1 gene. Time-course analysis of FoxO1 expressions indicated that levels of mRNA and protein gradually increased from day 0 to 3, and it reached almost maximal level at day 3, then decreased from day 5 to 7 in porcine primary preadipocyte differentiation. After induction by IGF-1, GPDH activity and accumulation of lipid increased, however, expressions of FoxO1 mRNA and protein were inhibited in a dose dependent manner. These results suggest that FoxO1 takes part in porcine preadipocyte differentiation and expressions of FoxO1 were regulated by IGF-1.

        Nanotherapeutics with immunoregulatory functions for the treatment of bacterial infection

        The advent of drug-resistant pathogens results in the occurrence of stubborn bacterial infections that cannot betreated with traditional antibiotics. Antibacterial immunotherapy by reviving or activating the body’s immune systemto eliminate pathogenic bacteria has confrmed promising therapeutic strategies in controlling bacterial infections. Subsequent studies found that antimicrobial immunotherapy has its own benefts and limitations, such as avoidingrecurrence of infection and autoimmunity-induced side efects. Current studies indicate that the various antibacterialtherapeutic strategies inducing immune regulation can achieve superior therapeutic efcacy compared with mono therapy alone. Therefore, summarizing the recent advances in nanomedicine with immunomodulatory functionsfor combating bacterial infections is necessary. Herein, we briefy introduce the crisis caused by drug-resistantbacteria and the opportunity for antibacterial immunotherapy. Then, immune-involved multimodal antibacterialtherapy for the treatment of infectious diseases was systematically summarized. Finally, the prospects and challengesof immune-involved combinational therapy are discussed.

        Testing and finite element modeling of stressed skin diaphragms

        The cold formed light-gauge profiled steel sheeting can offer considerable shear resistance acting in the steel building frame. This paper conducted the full-scale test on the shear behavior of stressed skin diaphragm using profiled sheeting connected by the self-tapping screws. A three-dimensional finite element model that simulates the stressed skin diaphragm was developed. The sheet was modeled using thin element model while the supporting members were simulated using beam elements. Fasteners were represented in the numerical model as equivalent springs. A joint test program was conducted to characterize the properties of these springs and results were reported in this study. Finite element model of the full-scale test was analyzed by use of the ANSYS package, considering nonlinearity caused by the large deflection and slip of fasteners. The experimental data was compared with the results acquired by the EUR formulas and finite element analysis.
