        Mental Health Among Healthcare Workers During the COVID-19 Pandemic in Vietnam

        Objectives: The objective of this study was to characterize mental health issues among Vietnamese healthcare workers (HCWs) and to identify related factors.Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted with 990 HCWs in 2021. Their mental health status was measured using the Depression, Anxiety, and Stress Scale.Results: In total, 49.9%, 52.3%, and 29.8% of respondents were found to have depression, anxiety, and stress, respectively. The multivariable linear regression model revealed that factors associated with increased anxiety scores included depression scores (β, 0.45; 95% confidence interval [CI], 0.39 to 0.51) and stress scores (β, 0.46; 95% CI, 0.41 to 0.52). Factors associated with increased depression scores included being frontline HCWs (β, 0.57; 95% CI, 0.10 to 1.10), stress scores (β, 0.50; 95% CI, 0.45 to 0.56), and anxiety scores (β, 0.41; 95% CI, 0.36 to 0.47), while working experience was associated with reduced depression scores (β, -0.08; 95% CI, -0.16 to -0.01). Factors associated with increased stress scores included working experience (β, 0.08; 95% CI, 0.00 to 0.16), personal protective equipment interference with daily activities (β, 0.55; 95% CI, 0.07 to 1.00), depression scores (β, 0.54; 95% CI, 0.48 to 0.59), and anxiety scores (β, 0.45; 95% CI, 0.39 to 0.50), while age was associated with reduced stress scores (β, -0.12; 95% CI, -0.20 to -0.05).Conclusions: Specific interventions are necessary to enhance and promote the mental health of HCWs so they can successfully cope with the circumstances of the pandemic.

        Design of a Low-power 10-Bit 250-kS/s SAR ADC for Neural Recording Applications

        This paper presents a low-power 10-bit successive approximation register (SAR) analog-to-digital converter (ADC) for neural recording applications. The proposed SAR ADC uses a modified VCM-based switching scheme to reduce the switching power. In addition, asynchronous SAR logic operation is used to avoid using any internal high-speed clock generator. A calibration technique was realized for the comparator offset to enhance the accuracy of the SAR ADC. The ADC was designed using a standard 180-nm CMOS process, and its core area occupies only 0.15 mm². It operates at 250 kS/s with a 1-V supply voltage and consumes 4.2 μW. An ENOB of 9.72 and FoM of 19.92 fJ/conv-step were also achieved.

        Analysis of several VERA benchmark problems with the photon transport capability of STREAM

        STREAM - a lattice transport calculation code with method of characteristics for the purpose of light water reactor analysis - has been developed by the Computational Reactor Physics and Experiment laboratory (CORE) of the Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology (UNIST). Recently, efforts have been taken to develop a photon module in STREAM to assess photon heating and the influence of gamma photon transport on power distributions, as only neutron transport was considered in previous STREAM versions. A multi-group photon library is produced for STREAM based on the ENDF/B-VII.1 library with the use of the library-processing code NJOY. The developed photon solver for the computation of 2D and 3D distributions of photon flux and energy deposition is based on the method of characteristics like the neutron solver. The photon library and photon module produced and implemented for STREAM are verified on VERA pin and assembly problems by comparison with the Monte Carlo code MCS e also developed at UNIST. A short analysis of the impact of photon transport during depletion and thermal hydraulics feedback is presented for a 2D core also from the VERA benchmark

        On-the-fly energy release per fission model in STREAM with explicit neutron and photon heating

        The on-the-fly energy release per fission (OTFK) model is implemented in STREAM to continuously update the Kappa values during the depletion calculation. The explicit neutron and photon energy distribution, which has not been considered in previous STREAM versions, is incorporated into the existing on-the-fly model. The impacts of the modified OTFK model with explicit neutron and photon heating in STREAM on the power distribution, fuel temperature, and other core parameters during depletion with feedback calculations are studied using several problems from the VERA benchmark suit. Overall, the explicit heating calculation provides a better power map for the feedback calculations particularly when strong gamma emitters are present. Generally, the fuel temperature decreases when neutron and photon heating is employed because fission neutrons and gamma rays are transported away from their points of generation. This energy release model in STREAM indicates that gamma energy accounts for approximately 9.5%e10% of the total energy released, and approximately 2.4%e2.6% of the total energy released will be deposited in the coolant for the VERA 5, NuScale, and Yonggwang Unit 3 2D cores.

        Factors Affecting the Behavioral Intention and Behavior of Using E-Wallets of Youth in Vietnam

        The study examines an empirical case that explores the key constructs of the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) (Venkatesh, Morris, Davis & Davis, 2003) and the relationship between security and privacy of the Theory of Perceived Risk (TPR) (Bauer, 1960). This study employs survey data of 200 young Internet users aged 18 to 25. The study was conducted through two steps: preliminary research by qualitative research method to form the official research scale then formal research by quantitative research method using CFA and SEM to test the research model. The research results show that performance expectancy and social influence significantly predict behavioral intention to use e-wallets in payment. In contrast, the factors, namely, security and privacy, and effort expectancy, are statistically insignificant on behavioral intention. Nevertheless, the facilitating conditions factor still affects the behavior of using e-wallets. The study proposes a model to generalize the online payment environment through the integration of UTAUT and TPR models that are important for online payment management and researchers in the technology environment. The findings of this study suggest that social influence significantly affects the intention of young people to use e-wallets instead of security and privacy.

      • Position-Based Feature Selection for Body Sensors regarding Daily Living Activity Recognition

        <P>This paper proposes a novel approach to recognize activities based on sensor-placement feature selection. The method is designed to address a problem of multisensor fusion information of wearable sensors which are located in different positions of a human body. Precisely, the approach can extract the best feature set that characterizes each activity regarding a body-sensor location to recognize daily living activities. We firstly preprocess the raw data by utilizing a low-pass filter. After extracting various features, feature selection algorithms are applied separately on feature sets of each sensor to obtain the best feature set for each body position. Then, we investigate the correlation of the features in each set to optimize the feature set. Finally, a classifier is applied to an optimized feature set, which contains features from four body positions to classify thirteen activities. In experimental results, we obtain an overall accuracy of 99.13% by applying the proposed method to the benchmark dataset. The results show that we can reduce the computation time for the feature selection step and achieve a high accuracy rate by performing feature selection for the placement of each sensor. In addition, our proposed method can be used for a multiple-sensor configuration to classify activities of daily living. The method is also expected to deploy to an activity classification system-based big data platform since each sensor node only sends essential information characterizing itself to a cloud server.</P>

        Classification of Five Ambulatory Activities Regarding Stair and Incline Walking Using Smart Shoes

        <P>In this paper, we propose a novel method to classify five ambulatory activities, i.e., level ground, incline descent, incline ascent, stair descent, and stair ascent walking using smart shoes which contain eight plantar-pressure sensors on each shoe. Pressure data are collected using an insole-based monitoring system regarding the walking activities conducted by participants at their self-imposed “normal” speed. We present three new features based on an analysis of step patterns to characterize the ambulatory activities and utilize a k-nearest neighbor algorithm to classify the activities from the created features. In experimental results, we obtain walking activity-recognition error rates of 2.16% at the sixth walking step. Furthermore, a proposed method outperforms two reference methods in terms of F1-score and overall accuracy rate.</P>

        Practical Application of Defaunation of Cattle on Farms in Vietnam: Response of Young Cattle Fed Rice Straw and Grass to a Single Drench of Groundnut Oil

        Farmers in the centre of Vietnam have a tradition of dosing young cattle with groundnut oil before fattening them on a diet of rice straw and road-side grass. These farmers claim the cattle grow faster. It was hypothesized that the effect of the oil could be to eliminate the protozoa from the rumen. This is known to increase the net microbial growth efficiency in the rumen and increase the protein supply to the animal. To test this hypothesis, two experiments were undertaken; one on-station with four cattle fitted with rumen cannulae and the second a growth trial with 25 young cattle in smallholder farms. When the cannulated animals were drenched with groundnut oil, the protozoa were eliminated from the rumen and animals could be kept free of protozoa by isolation. The ammonia concentration in the rumen fluid was decreased when the protozoa were eliminated and there was an indication of improved rumen dry matter degradability of the forage components of the diet. In the practical condition on the smallholder farms, the growth rates of cattle drenched with groundnut oil were increased considerably (65%) compared with untreated control animals. The laboratory results when taken together with the on-farm results indicate that these resource-poor farmers had been able to defaunate their cattle and to maintain the fauna-free state by isolation of their animals from extraneous stock. This traditional practice in Central Vietnam, whereby one family keeps only one or two animals that are hand fed and tethered, has quite a large potential for all of those countries where animals are fed agro-industrial by-products, as it is highly economic. The use of 1 litre of oil compared with 1 kg of rice polishing per day (300 kg over 300 days), would be highly profitable in all countries of South-East Asia.

        Propagation of radiation source uncertainties in spent fuel cask shielding calculations

        The propagation of radiation source uncertainties in spent nuclear fuel (SNF) cask shielding calculations is presented in this paper. The uncertainty propagation employs the depletion and source term outputs of the deterministic code STREAM as input to the transport simulation of the Monte Carlo (MC) codes MCS and MCNP6. The uncertainties of dose rate coming from two sources: nuclear data and modeling parameters, are quantified. The nuclear data uncertainties are obtained from the stochastic sampling of the cross-section covariance and perturbed fission product yields. Uncertainties induced by perturbed modeling parameters consider the design parameters and operating conditions. Uncertainties coming from the two sources result in perturbed depleted nuclide inventories and radiation source terms which are then propagated to the dose rate on the cask surface. The uncertainty analysis results show that the neutron and secondary photon dose have uncertainties which are dominated by the cross section and modeling parameters, while the fission yields have relatively insignificant effect. Besides, the primary photon dose is mostly influenced by the fission yield and modeling parameters, while the cross-section data have a relatively negligible effect. Moreover, the neutron, secondary photon, and primary photon dose can have uncertainties up to about 13%, 14%, and 6%, respectively.

        Positioning customer-based convenience store image: a multidimensional scaling approach via perceptual map

        Purpose: The research is to find out the perception of consumers for the convenience store (c - store) image in an emerging market, with a sample from Ho Chi Minh City. Research design, data, and methodology: Data were collected using a 24 - item structured questionnaire into six factors, namely: store atmospheric, merchandise, supplementary service, customer convenience, sales personnel, promotion. Five hundred consumers shopped at the different c - stores were collected for a multidimensional scaling technique that creates a perceptual map illustrating of c - store image. Results: The results point out that consumers' perception of a different c - store is different. The trend of c- stores are focusing on the dimensions of the function aspect. The customers also put their attention on the psychological dimension, which, in this case, is customer convenience with a sharp point. Almost all stores are bad on store atmospheric in customer- based. Conclusions: The modern retail store chains need to focus on elements to create a store image positioning and improve the perceptions of the consumers towards the store. Besides, customers not only visit the stores, not due to its convenient location, mass media or shopping experience, but also a strong identity for the store's brand image.
