With the advent of globalization - a 21st century phenomenon - many corporations have been developing inroads into overseas markets. As international competition continues to intensify, some companies and researchers have taken a profound interest in the social cognitions, reactions, backgrounds, and behaviors of members in organizations. In line with these tendencies, organizational culture, along with absorptive capacity, is becoming one of the decisive factors. This study aims to use empirical analysis to identify the relationships between organizational culture, absorptive capacity, and performance of international logistics service providers (ILSP) in Korea. The empirical research shows that (1) there is no direct relationship between the construct of power distance and performance; (2) absorptive capacity has no mediation effect on the relationship between the construct of uncertainty avoidance and business performance; (3) in the case of the constructs of masculinity and femininity and individualism and collectivism, there is a full mediation effect only on financial performance; (4) there is partial mediation between long-term orientation and non-financial performance. Overall, the results of this study suggest that managers of ILSP should bear in mind that the constructs of organizational culture have considerable influence over an organization s absorptive capacity and business performance. These firms should acknowledge these influences and apply appropriate strategies, focusing on known weaknesses, to effectively strengthen their competitive market positions and long-term survival and success.

Objective: This study aimed to determine the role of asymptomatic bacterial sexually transmitted infections (STIs), such as Chlamydia trachomatis (Ct), Mycoplasma genitalium (Mg), Mycoplasma hominis (Mh), and Ureaplasma urealyticum (Uu) in human papillomavirus (HPV) infection. Methods: In total, 264 asymptomatic outpatients aged between 21 and 80 years were prospectively enrolled in this study during routine gynecological screening tests. Specimens collected with a Cervex Brush were routinely analyzed with the Hybrid Capture 2 assay for HPV. Simultaneously, a specimen obtained with an endocervical swab was used to detect Ct and Mg with a monoplex real-time polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and to confirm Mh and Uu with a Mycoplasma IST 2 kit. Results: The detection rates (%) of HPV, Ct, Mg, Mh, and Uu were 82/264 (31.1), 6/264 (2.3), 5/264 (1.9), 16/264 (6.1), and 95/264 (36.0), respectively. Of 95 Uu, 32 (33.7%) showed high density colonization (HDC, 104 color-changing units/mL). HDC-Uu was significantly associated with HPV infection (p=0.014, chi-square test). Mg infection and Mh infection were not associated with HPV infection (p=0.981 and p=0.931, chi-square test). Age was not associated with HPV infection or bacterial infection. Conclusion: Our data suggested that asymptomatic HDC-Uu was closely associated with HPV infection. Therefore, simultaneous evaluation for Uu and HPV should be performed during gynecological screening, even in asymptomatic individuals. Heyneanol A, a tetramer of resveratrol, is isolated from the roots of Vitis amurensis by cytotoxicity based fractionation. In this study, the mechanism of apoptosis by heyneanol A was evaluated in human leukemic U937 cells. Heyneanol A (IC_(50) = 6.6 μM at 24 h) exhibited stronger cytotoxic effect than resveratrol (IC_(50) = 100 μM at 24 h) by 15-fold an human leukemic U937 cells by XTT assay. Apoptotic bodies were observed in U937 cells treated with 6 μM of heyneanol A by TUNEL assay. Heyneanol A effectively increased the Portion of sub-G₁ DNA content in a time- and concentration-dependent manner by flow cytometric analysis. Heyneanol A also induced cytochrome c release from mitochondria into the cytosol and subsequent caspase activation involving caspase 9 and 3 to cleave PARP. However, it did not affect the expressions of Bax and Bcl-2 by western blotting. It was confirmed that the activation of caspase 8, 9 and 3 and the cleavage of PARP by heyneanol A were completely blocked by adding Z-VAD-FMK, a caspase inhibitor. These findings suggest that heyneanol A has anti-tumor activity, which may be mediated by apoptosis caused by cytochrome c release and caspase activation in human leukemic U937 cells.
High-Gain Wideband CMOS Low Noise Amplifier with Two-Stage Cascode and Simplified Chebyshev Filter
Sung-Soo Kim,Young-Sop Lee,윤태열 한국전자통신연구원 2007 ETRI Journal Vol.29 No.5
An ultra-wideband low-noise amplifier is proposed with operation up to 8.2 GHz. The amplifier is fabricated with a 0.18-μm CMOS process and adopts a twostage cascode architecture and a simplified Chebyshev filter for high gain, wide band, input-impedance matching, and low noise. The gain of 19.2 dB and minimum noise figure of 3.3 dB are measured over 3.4 to 8.2 GHz while consuming 17.3 mW of power. The Proposed UWB LNA achieves a measured power-gain bandwidth product of 399.4 GHz.
