This study designed and presented Korean language education activities using Instagram as a Mobile-Assisted Language Learning tool to supplement the limitations of the learning environment of learners at American colleges with limited opportunities to use Korean outside of the classroom. In addition, by examining the contents and results of the awareness survey conducted on learners, the effects and limitations of Korean language education activities using Instagram were reviewed. As a result of conducting Korean language education activities using Instagram during the semester, learners were all positively aware of the areas of interest, interaction, topic, practice, memory, and engagement regarding the Instagram activities. This study also suggested a way of improving the interaction not only among Korean language learners, but also that between Korean language learners and Korean native speakers using Instagram activities. Nilaparvata lugens Stål is one of the important migratory pests of rice paddy fields in Korea. Resistance levels to nine insecticides were monitored in 12 local strains and correlation analysis was conducted to determine cross-resistance relationships among the tested insecticides. The local strains revealed 1.3- to 28.0-, 1.6- to 6.0-, 2.8- to 237.0-, 0.6- to 0.9-, and 0.7- to 1.3-fold resistance to carbamates, organophosphates, neonicotinoids, fipronil and etofenprox, respectively. Organophosphates revealed moderate correlations with benzofuranyl methylcarbamate (r = 0.566 - 0.614, p > 0.01). Three neonicotinoids were not correlated each other, but imidacloprid and clothianidin were moderately correlated with several benzofuranyl methylcarbamate and organophosphate insecticides (r = 0.590 - 0.705, p > 0.05), indicating that unknown common factors (such as detoxification enzymes) might contribute to resistance to both insecticides. Fipronil and etofenprox exhibited low levels of resistance and cross-resistance with other insecticides, suggesting their potential as an effective insecticide for field application. Resistance level monitoring and correlation analysis would be valuable for the selection of appropriate insecticides to control insecticide-resistant N. lugenes, a typical migratory pest in Korea.
Nafamostat mesilate promotes endothelium-dependent vasorelaxation via the Akt-eNOS dependent pathway

Nafamostat mesilate (NM), a synthetic serine protease inhibitor, has anticoagulant and anti-inflammatory properties. The intracellular mediator and external anti-inflammatory external signal in the vascular wall have been reported to protect endothelial cells, in part due to nitric oxide (NO) production. This study was designed to examine whether NM exhibit endothelium dependent vascular relaxation through Akt/endothelial nitric oxide synthase (eNOS) activation and generation of NO. NM enhanced Akt/eNOS phosphorylation and NO production in a dose- and time-dependent manner in human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs) and aorta tissues obtained from rats treated with various concentrations of NM. NM concomitantly decreased arginase activity, which could increase the available arginine substrate for NO production. Moreover, we investigated whether NM increased NO bioavailability and decreased aortic relaxation response to an eNOS inhibitor in the aorta. These results suggest that NM increases NO generation via the Akt/eNOS signaling pathway, leading to endothelium-dependent vascular relaxation. Therefore, the vasorelaxing action of NM may contribute to the regulation of cardiovascular function.

Customers are now demanding ever better service from customer service representatives (CSRs) to create superior customer service. Accordingly, CSRs are required to have more specialized knowledge and abilities of customer service. This study examines the roles of accumulated customer knowledge in electronic knowledge repositories (EKRs), which a firm has developed for customer service over time to enhance CSRs' work capabilities and work performance, in the context of call centers. To test the proposed research model and hypotheses, we conducted LISREL analysis using 261 responses collected on CSRs working for inbound call centers. The key results are as follows. First, accumulated customer knowledge in EKRs enhances CSRs' knowledge utilization and service expertise during the customer contact. Second, CSRs' knowledge utilization reinforces service expertise. Finally, service quality depends on CSRs' knowledge utilization and service expertise, but it is not directly related to accumulated customer knowledge. Overall, the findings suggest that accumulated customer knowledge in EKRs enhances CSRs' knowledge utilization and service expertise, and thereby leading to superior service quality.
Streaming video packet scheduling by Geo<sup>Y</sup>/G/∞ input process modeling

We introduce Geo<SUP>Y</SUP>/G/∞ input process with beta-distributed batch size and Weibull-like autocorrelation function in order to model video traffic. Investigating the overflow probability of queueing system by large deviation theory, we develop a streaming scheduling algorithm by applying the overflow analysis result to estimating the packet deadline-missing probability. Through experiments with 30-second long movie traces, we show that our proposed scheduling scheme outperforms existing schemes based on fractional Brownian motion and Markovian models.
타오바오 라이브방송 쇼핑플랫폼에서 국내기업 제품의 소비자신뢰 형성에 관한 연구

This study focuses on live commerce based on the TaoBao live streaming shopping platform which is a fast-growing electronic(e-) commerce area, along with the spread of live streaming services. Live commerce refers to a new type of commerce which combines electronic commerce with live streaming. Drawing on the literature of consumer trust and trust transfer in e-commerce, this study examines how to increase global consumers’ purchase intentions of domestic products with a low level of brand awareness through live commerce. By considering platform trust, seller trust, and product trust as consumer trust, this study explores the effect of trust transfer among them. Moreover, this study investigates key determinants of consumer trust in live streaming shopping. The partial least squares (PLS) analysis with a total of 200 data collected on buyers with experience in TaoBao live streaming shopping. The key findings are presented as follows. Firstly, purchase intentions of Korean regional products are determined by platform trust, seller trust, and product trust. Secondly, there is the effect of trust transfer among three types of consumer trust. That is, platform trust influences both seller trust and product trust and then seller trust influences product trust. Finally, institutional mechanism and familiarity are key determinants of platform trust and seller trust. The discussion and implications of the results are provided.
