        Chinese Tea Ceremony

        Shu-meng Huang,Jin He 한국차학회 2015 한국차학회지 Vol.- No.S

Chinese tea ceremony is not only the art of drinking tea, but also a way to spend your lifetime enjoying tea artistically. It is the perfect combinations of aesthetics, literature, painting, calligraphy, and music. We could enjoy teaby smelling, looking, and tasting. Moreover, we could cultivate our tastes in the poetic atmosphere made by drinking tea. It is the material and spiritual enjoyment that we get from tea ceremony. During the long history of Chinese tea culture, people always have been fond of tea ceremony. The aesthetics of Chinese tea ceremony began from Jin Dynasty, but formed at Tang Dynasty eventually. And The Book of Tea written by Lu Yu who was the master of tea in Tang Dynasty was the sign of tea ceremony becoming mature. From ancient times to nowadays, Chinese tea ceremony has great culture accumulations. In Wei and Jin Dynasties, and Tang Dynasty, the Fried Tea was very popular. However, Diancha became popular in the late years of Tang Dynasty and Song Dynasty. Using different hand tricks in Diancha, various strange patterns could be formed on the surface of the tea water. After that, brewing tea replaced the status of Diancha in Ming Dynasty. So Chinese tea ceremony not only has absorbed the essence of Chinese traditional culture, but has kept pace with the times as well. And it has always been loved by royalty, refined scholars, monks and priests. Furthermore, it has also been popular in common people. Chinese Tea ceremony is the treasure of Chinese traditional culture.

The International Development Strategy of Les Enphants Roots in China Market

Huang, Shu-Tzu,Cho, Hsin-Ying,Hsu, Yin-Chieh The Korean Society of Costume 2014 International journal of costume and fashion Vol.14 No.1

Facing a mature domestic market and the challenges of the global consumer market, retailers in Taiwan are in pursuit of international development strategies for increasing its market opportunities as one of its key growth strategies. In the global market, the Chinese market becomes Taiwan retailers' main international development milestone due to its similarity of language, culture and historical background with China. Therefore, this research uses case study method based on Eclectic paradigm (Dunning 1981) to explore the various advantages of a Taiwanese children's clothing retailer Les Enphants, which include ownership advantage, internalization advantage, and location advantage. These advantages in turn demonstrate rationales behind Les Enphants' internationalization necessity (Why to Go), selecting China as an expansion target (Where to Go), and management and operation strategies implemented in China (How to Go). Our study highlights a successful entry and expansion model of the Taiwanese children clothing retailer, and may have solid contribution to the practical application of internationalization strategy theory.

      • Displacing Housing Problem? Addressing Housing Crisis of Hong Kong in the restructuring Pearl River delta region

        Shu-Mei Huang 한국주거학회 2015 한국주거학회 국제학술대회논문집 Vol.2015 No.4

Despite Hong Kong’s economic achievement, its housing crisis, exemplified by the increase of cage homes, is an open secret. The combination of strong public housing provision and free-market housing seemingly lost its balance as Hong Kong has witnessed decreasing social mobility and widening wealth gap in the past two decades. This paper examines Hong Kong’s strategy in tackling such a housing crisis within a reconfiguring regional-national economic framework during 2000-2014. It argues that the city’s neoliberal logic of housing production and increasing focus on mobility and connectivity with the mainland tends to displace rather than solve housing problem. Recently, the announcement of the Action Plan for the Bay Area of the Pearl River Estuary, upon which Hong Kong would turn the many agricultural lands in the New Territories into new towns - allegedly an effective measure to create housing in the lands bordering Shenzhen. This article reviews the ongoing debate over the plan and examines the ways in which such a planning as naturalizing displacement and mobility in its neoliberal logic.

Poly(vinly alcohol)/Nano-Sized Layered Double Hydroxides Nanocomposite Hydrogels Prepared by Cyclic Freezing and Thawing

        Shu Huang,Tianxi Liu,Zhe Yang,Hong Zhu,Lulu Ren,Weng Weei Tjiu 한국고분자학회 2012 Macromolecular Research Vol.20 No.6

In this paper, nano-sized MgAl-layered double hydroxides (LDH) were synthesized via a very fast nucleation and slow aging method that can be suspended in water. Poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA)/LDH nanocomposite hydrogels were then prepared using a cyclic freezing/thawing method. The mechanical properties of PVA hydrogels were significantly enhanced by incorporation of LDH nanoplatelets. After 7, 9, and 11 freezing/thawing cycles, the tensile strength of PVA nanocomposite hydrogels containing 0.5 wt% LDH was remarkably increased by 100%, 100%, and 300%, respectively, while the Young’s modulus was increased by 25%, 22%, and 149%, respectively. More interestingly, the nanocomposite hydrogels exhibited larger elongation at the break than neat PVA hydrogels. However, after addition of the LDH nanoplatelets, the water-swelling ability of PVA hydrogels decreased. The microstructures and morphologies of PVA/LDH nanocomposite hydrogels were further investigated by scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, and differential scanning calorimetry. The results showed that well-dispersed LDH nanoplatelets played an important role in increasing physical cross-linking density by inducing PVA crystallization and the formation of more uniform polymer networks. As a result, the mechanical properties of PVA hydrogels were greatly improved, even at very low LDH loading levels.

Studying the Strain Effect on Silicon Atomic Wires

        Shu-Tong Chang,Shu-Hui Liao,Hsiao-Chun Huang,Chee-Wee Liu,Chung-Yi Lin 한국물리학회 2008 THE JOURNAL OF THE KOREAN PHYSICAL SOCIETY Vol.53 No.6

The transport properties of a Si3 atomic wire system, which is formed by a Si3 cluster connected to two lithium electrodes with bias applied, is studied using the simulator Virtual NanoLab that is constructed based on the non-equilibrium Green’s function (NEGF) scheme. We investigated the Si3 atomic wire system under three strain conditions (tensile, compressive and shear). Different trends in the I-V characteristics are observed for the three cases at various applied biases. The transmission spectrum T(E, Vb), as a function of energy and applied biases, are analyzed. The interactions among eigenstates of the molecular projected self-consistent Hamiltonian (MPSH) strongly affect the transport properties of the system.

        《老乞大》"红姑娘"考

        ?淑?(Huang Shu-ting) 한국중어중문학회 2009 中語中文學 Vol.45 No.-

"Hong Guniang", whose official name is Physalis alkekengi, is a kind of perennial herb belongs La Solanaceae and grows all over the world. It appears in many ancient books and literature works such as Lao Qi Da. However, among various kinds of current Chinese reference books, only Unabridged Chinese Dictionary embodies the entry of "Hong Guniang". Because of the lack of knowledge about this fruit and its alternative names, people always mix up its alkekengi with Creeping Woodsorrel, which results in the confusion of word classification related to them. Still uncertainties and errors exist. and even in certain authoritative dictionaries and lexicons, some questions remains to be deliberated. This dissertation will set out with a number of materials from ancient books and literature works, as well as on site surveys of different dialects, in order to do a historical and overall research on "Hong Guniang" - an alternative name of Physalis alkekengi, and then look into its origin. Meanwhile, this dissertation will point out the related errors in Unabridged Chinese Dictionary and Unabridged Chinese Lexicon, on the purpose of offering some references to the dictionary editors in future.

The Optimal Government Shareholding Strategy and the Cost Structure

        Chin-Shu Huang,Jen-Yao Lee,Shih-Shen Chen 서울대학교 경제연구소 2006 Seoul journal of economics Vol.19 No.2

This paper analyzes government's optimal shareholding strategy within the framework of the mixed oligopoly. It is found that: (1) When both public and domestic firms have the same cost coefficient, the government's best policy is to adopt the full mixed oligopoly. (2) When the cost coefficient of the public firm is lower than a threshold value, the government should opt for a full mixed-oligopoly policy. However, when the public firm's cost coefficient is higher than the threshold value, the government should privatize the public firm completely and exit the market. The single mixed oligopoly is just an alternative proposal when it falls to transform all of the private firms into mixed ownership enterprises.
