Dye molecules attached to TiO2 nanoparticles have been of a great interest in the applications including dye-sensitized solar cells. In this paper, TiO2 nanoparticle sensitized with a natural photosynthetic dye, 8'-apo-beta-caroten-8'-oic acid (ACOA) was investigated by femtosecond transient absorption spectroscopy. Ultrafast excited state dynamics of ACOA and electron injection and recombination dynamics between dye molecules and TiO2 nanoparticles were compared by changing the excitation wavelength between 403 and 480 nm. Ultrafast electron injection into TiO2 nanoparticles with quantum yields of 0.33 was observed for both excitation wavelengths.

Steering-pull in vehicle appears due to cross wind, road crown, wheel alignment and so on. In this study, real-time steering-pull compensation control logic, which is activated in continuous lateral load, is proposed. This system is composed of three subsystems such as signal pre-processing module, steering-pull estimation module and compensation steering-torque module. The algorithm is developed and verified by using vehicle test.
Excited-State Dynamics of Carotenoids Studied by Femtosecond Transient Absorption Spectroscopy
Lee, Ingu,Lee, Sebok,Pang, Yoonsoo Korean Chemical Society 2014 Bulletin of the Korean Chemical Society Vol.35 No.3
Carotenoids, natural antenna pigments in photosynthesis share a symmetric backbone of conjugated polyenes. Contrary to the symmetric and almost planar geometries of carotenoids, excited state structure and dynamics of carotenoids are exceedingly complex. In this paper, recent infrared and visible transient absorption measurements and excitation dependent dynamics of 8'-apo-${\beta}$-caroten-8'-al and 7',7'-dicyano-7'-apo-${\beta}$-carotene will be reviewed. The recent visible transient absorption measurements of 8'-apo-${\beta}$-caroten-8'-al in polar and nonpolar solvents will also be introduced to emphasize the complex excited-state dynamics and unsolved problems in the $S_2$ and $S_1$ excited states.

We report time-resolved stimulated Raman spectra of alizarin in DMSO solution with, 403 nm excitation. Upon photo excitation, the intramolecular proton transfer reaction of alizarin occurs in 70-80 fs, which is, confirmed by both the population growth and the frequency and bandwidth changes of skeletal vibrational modes of alizarin. Interestingly, the vibrational frequencies of v(C= C) and v(C=O) show opposite shifts during the reaction, which may implicate changes, in the resonance structure, of anthraquinone and the attached-carbonyl group. Vibrational relaxation in the potential surface of the proton transferred tautomer of alizarin and the population decay occurring-with two distinct time scales were also observed in addition to the solvation dynamics of DMSO solvent molecules.

This study proposes ways to support system managers’ rapid decision making through the development of models based on intelligent wireless sensoring systems for real-time safety diagnosis of effective urban facilities. First, The technology trends of intelligent wireless sensing systems were investigated and analyzed. The technology needed for the development of intelligent sensing system models was then defined. A model is proposed to effectively support the shear meter of various information collection, storage, analysis and expression. Using the model through this R&D, an intelligent risk-aware information system can be built and a pre-facility risk management system can be constructed using the management system. Also, The findings could be used as a tool for making decisions necessary for the development and management of an intelligent decision service platform for the safety of urban facilities in the future.

Background: Over the past 30-40 years, various carbon implant materials have become more interesting, because they are well accepted by the biological environment. The traditional carbon-based polymers give rise to many complications. The polymer complication may be eliminated through carbon fibres bound by pyrocarbon (carbon/carbon). The aim of this study is to present the long-term clinical results of carbon/carbon implants, and the results of the scanning electron microscope and energy dispersive spectrometer investigation of an implant retrieved from the human body after 8 years. Methods: Mandibular reconstruction (8-10 years ago) was performed with pure (99.99 %) carbon implants in 16 patients (10 malignant tumours, 4 large cystic lesions and 2 augmentative processes). The long-term effect of the human body on the carbon/carbon implant was investigated by comparing the structure, the surface morphology and the composition of an implant retrieved after 8 years to a sterilized, but not implanted one. Results: Of the 16 patients, the implants had to be removed earlier in 5 patients because of the defect that arose on the oral mucosa above the carbon plates. During the long-term follow-up, plate fracture, loosening of the screws, infection or inflammations around the carbon/carbon implants were not observed. The thickness of the carbon fibres constituting the implants did not change during the 8-year period, the surface of the implant retrieved was covered with a thin surface layer not present on the unimplanted implant. The composition of this layer is identical to the composition of the underlying carbon fibres. Residual soft tissue penetrating the bulk material between the carbon fibre bunches was found on the retrieved implant indicating the importance of the surface morphology in tissue growth and adhering implants. Conclusions: The surface morphology and the structure were not changed after 8 years. The two main components of the implant retrieved from the human body are still carbon and oxygen, but the amount of oxygen is 3-4 times higher than on the surface of the reference implant, which can be attributed to the oxidative effect of the human body, consequently in the integration and biocompatibility of the implant. The clinical conclusion is that if the soft part cover is appropriate, the carbon implants are cosmetically and functionally more suitable than titanium plates.

These days the technology about Autonomous Vehicles for accident by driver"s mistake attract great attention. Many advanced companies are developing a part of Autonomous Vehicles. For succeeding Autonomous Vehicles, Drivers have to drive safely without keeping eyes forward. Fail Operation technology with no breakdown while driving is needed for Autonomous Vehicles. In this paper, we suggest Fail Operation method which continue steering assist when MDPS‘s motor phase open or failure in current sensor. Open-Loop algorism using current commend controls MDPS when current sensor failed. In this case, Open-Loop control suggests the method of making 2D table type. Input current commend and motor speed of 2D table type, and Output voltage value of 2D table type. Also, the motor phase open propose the method using other 2 normal phases. It composed of coordinate system transform, Torque optimization and PWM conversion. Or these suggestions, it is possible to keep steering assist when current sensor and motor phase open are broken down.
