We introduce a cost-effective method that combines electroplating with metal cold working processes to manufacture compositetubes with robust corrosion resistance. First, a 3-step electroplating process was developed to form an adhesive anduniform Ag coating on the outer wall of a 304 stainless steel tube. The process consisted of a Ni-strike step for removing thepassivation layer of the initial 304 tube, Cu deposition for smoothing the surface by adding a buffer layer, and Ag deposition. To reinforce the interfacial adhesion between the electroplated layers and the 304 tube and increase the area of the Ag coating,a pilger rolling or pilger rolling + heat-treatment process was performed after the Ag electroplating process. Scanningelectron microscopy of the composite tubes after each process indicated that the as-deposited Ag coating changed fromhaving a rough to smooth surface after only pilger rolling and with additional heat treatment. Electron backscatter diffractionanalysis of the microstructures and textures of the tubes revealed that dynamic recrystallization occurred extensively duringpilger rolling, resulting in the formation of a relatively defect-free grain structure without heat treatment. Furthermore,electrochemical polarization curves determined that the Ag-coated composite tubes are superior to the uncoated 304 tubein terms of corrosion resistance under Cl−atmosphere, owing to the formation of a AgCl passivation layer during testing. Surface analysis of the composite tubes suggests that the properties of the AgCl passivation layer are related to the grainsize of the Ag coating and the density of plastic-deformation-induced defects.

The objective of this study was to evaluate platelet-rich fibrin (PRF)’s effectiveness in repairing articular disc defect in the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) of rabbits. Eight rabbits were divided into four groups of two rabbits each, corresponding to groups A, B, C, and D. Both TMJs of all of the rabbits were used in the experiments: the right joints comprised the experimental groups, and the left ones, the control groups. The disc defect was circular and 2 mm in diameter. In the experimental groups, the PRF was compressed into the defect, whereas the control group defects were left untreated. A, B, C, and D groups were sacrificed at the 1st, 2nd, 4th and 6th weeks, respectively. The defects of each control group exhibited no specific changes. Contrastingly, in each experimental group, there was an increased number of chondroblasts at the margins of the defects, along with accelerated cell differentiation and a columnar cell arrangement observable at the time of cell differentiation. The experimental groups showed inflammatory cell infiltrations and fibrosis by the 1st week, maturation of chondrocytes by the 2nd week, and proliferation by the 4th week, after which the defects began to be filled with chondrocytes, a process that was complete after the 6th week. In the histological evaluation (H-E), the experimental groups showed significant increases of chondroblasts after the 2nd and 4th weeks, as well as regular columns of chondrocyte arrays observable during cell division. After 6 weeks, the defects were filled with chondrocytes.

예비 영유아교사를 위한 자아탄력성 증진 프로그램이 자아탄력성과 공감능력에 미치는 영향

본 연구의 목적은 예비 영유아교사를 위한 자아탄력성 증진 프로그램이 자아탄력성과 공감능력에 미치는 효과를 살펴보는 것이다. 본 연구에서 개발된 예비 영유아교사를 위한 자아탄력성 프로그램은 자신감 및 유능감, 긍정적 사고, 문제해결능력, 감정조절 및 관리, 친밀한 태도와 행동, 대인관계능력을 통하여 자아탄력성 향상을 세부목표로 하였다. 본 연구의 대상은 4년제 대학의 예비 영유아교사 99명이며, 실험집단에 12회에 걸쳐 자아탄력성 증진 프로그램을 실시하였다. 프로그램의 평가를 위하여 Klohnen(1996)이 개발한 자기보고식 자아탄력성 도구를 박현진(1997)에 번역한 자아탄력성도구와 Mehrabian & Epstein(1972), Davis(1980), Bryant(1982) 도구를 전병성(2003)이 수정한 공감능력 검사 도구를 통하여 검사를 실시하였으며, 수집된 자료는 t-검증을 실시하였다. 본 연구 결과, 예비 영유아교사를 위한 자아탄력성 증진 프로그램은 예비 영유아교사의 자아탄력성에서 낙관적 태도와 분노조절, 자아탄력성 전체에 효과가 있었으며, 정서공감과 인지공감 등 공감능력 모두에 효과를 나타냈다. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of the ego-resiliency enhancing program on ego-resiliency and empathy of pre-service early childhood teachers. The contents of ego-resilience enhancing program for pre-service early childhood teachers included self-confidence, positive thinking, problem solving, emotion regulation, intimate attitude and behavior, and interpersonal relationship. The subjects of this study were 99 pre-service early childhood teachers. The experimental group had 12 sessions with the ego-resiliency enhancing program. The rating scale was used with a rating scale of ego-resiliency by Hyun-Jin Park(1997) and a rating scale of empathy by Byung-Suk Jun(2003). The data were analyzed by t-test. The result of this study was that the ego-resiliency enhancing program was effective for improving ego-resiliency and empathy for especially positive behavior, anger adjustment, cognitive empathy and emotional empathy of pre-service early childhood teachers.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the fatty acid profiles in 18 soybean cultivars grown in Korea. A total of eleven fatty acids were identified in the sample set, which was comprised of myristic (C14:0), palmitic (C16:0), palmitoleic (C16:1, ${\omega}7$), stearic (C18:0), oleic (C18:1, ${\omega}9$), linoleic (C18:2, ${\omega}6$), linolenic (C18:3, ${\omega}3$), arachidic (C20:0), gondoic (C20:1, ${\omega}9$), behenic (C22:0), and lignoceric (C24:0) acids by gas-liquid chromatography with flame ionization detector (GC-FID). Based on their color, yellow-, black-, brown-, and green-colored cultivars were denoted. Correlation coefficients (r) between the nine major fatty acids identified (two trace fatty acids, myristic and palmitoleic, were not included in the study) were generated and revealed an inverse association between oleic and linoleic acids (r=-0.94, p<0.05), while stearic acid was positively correlated to arachidic acid (r=0.72, p<0.05). Principal component analysis (PCA) of the fatty acid data yielded four significant principal components (PCs; i.e., eigenvalues>1), which together account for 81.49% of the total variance in the data set; with PC1 contributing 28.16% of the total. Eigen analysis of the correlation matrix loadings of the four significant PCs revealed that PC1 was mainly contributed to by oleic, linoleic, and gondoic acids, PC2 by stearic, linolenic and arachidic acids, PC3 by behenic and lignoceric acids, and PC4 by palmitic acid. The score plots generated between PC1-PC2 and PC3-PC4 segregated soybean cultivars based on fatty acid composition.

<P>Abstract</P><P>Aims: </P><P>Heat shock protein 27 (Hsp27) is a well-known stress response protein that is characterized by its phosphorylative capacity. Hsp27 becomes phosphorylated in response to various stimuli through interaction with several different kinases. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the interaction between Hsp27 and mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) (p38, extracellular signal-regulated kinase [ERK], and c-Jun N-terminal kinase) in the human placenta derived from patients with pre-eclampsia.</P><P>Methods: </P><P>Western blot analysis was used to examine the levels of expression of Hsp27 and MAPK (p38, ERK, and c-Jun N-terminal kinase). Immunoprecipitation analysis was used to determine the interaction between Hsp27 and MAPK (p38 and ERK).</P><P>Results: </P><P>Western blotting analysis and immunohistochemistry showed that the expression of Hsp27 and p-Hsp27 in the placental tissues of the pre-eclampsia group were significantly higher than that in the normal pregnancy group. Immunoprecipitation analysis showed that the interaction between Hsp27 and MAPK (p38 and ERK) was significantly increased in the pre-eclamptic placenta tissues.</P><P>Conclusion: </P><P>The interaction between Hsp27 and MAPK was increased, suggesting that phosphorylation of Hsp27 might be induced by p38 and ERK in placentas from patients with pre-eclampsia.</P>

<P>In this study, we propose the fabrication of a photodetector based on the heterostructure of p-type Si and n-type MoS<SUB>2</SUB>. Mechanically exfoliated MoS<SUB>2</SUB> flakes are transferred onto a Si layer; the resulting Si-MoS<SUB>2</SUB> p-n photodiode shows excellent performance with a responsivity (<I>R</I>) and detectivity (<I>D*</I>) of 76.1 A/W and 10<SUP>12</SUP> Jones, respectively. In addition, the effect of the thickness of the depletion layer of the Si-MoS<SUB>2</SUB> heterojunction on performance is investigated using the depletion layer model; based on the obtained results, we optimize the photoresponse of the device by varying the MoS<SUB>2</SUB> thickness. Furthermore, low-frequency noise measurement is performed for the fabricated devices. The optimized device shows a low noise equivalent power (NEP) of 7.82 × 10<SUP>-15</SUP> W Hz<SUP>-1/2</SUP>. Therefore, our proposed device could be utilized for various optoelectronic devices for low-light detection.</P> [FIG OMISSION]</BR>
Enhanced the electrochemical performances of Ni-rich LiNi0.8Co0.1Mn0.1O2 cathode by ZrO2 coating

ZrO2 coated Ni-rich LiNi0.8Co0.1Mn0.1O2 cathode has enhanced electrochemical performance and stability compared with thepristine. The discharge capacity of both samples have no significant difference. However, the 1.77 wt% ZrO2 coatedLiNi0.8Co0.1Mn0.1O2 material delivers enhanced charge-discharge cycling (capacity retention of 97.1 % after 100 cycles at 0.5C) while the capacity retention of pristine is 94.8 % under the same condition. Based on these, we can infer that the ZrO2coated LiNi0.8Co0.1Mn0.1O2 material shows great cyclability, originated from suppressing undesirable side reaction and decreaseeffectively electrolyte decomposition reaction. Therefore, the ZrO2 coated Ni-rich LiNi0.8Co0.1Mn0.1O2 cathode can beconsidered as an effective strategy for long-life Li-ion batteries.
