In the present work, lead-free piezoelectric ceramics 0.65Bi1.05Fe1−xTixO3-0.35BaTi1−yNbyO3, where x = y = 0, 0.01, 0.015, 0.02, and 0.025, abbreviated as BFT-BTNb, were successfully synthesized by a solid-state reaction method and an air quenching method. The effects of B-Site donor modifications (Nb5+ and Ti4+) on the crystal structure, the morphology and the electrical properties of the 0.65BF-0.35BT ceramics were studied. X-ray diffraction patterns showed the formation of a pure perovskite structure, without any secondary phases. Scanning electron microscope (SEM) micrographs revealed that the average grain size of the BF-BT ceramics decreased with the addition of B-Site donors. Improvements in the ferroelectric properties (P-E loops) and the electric fieldinduced strain properties (S-E loops) were obtained at the optimum composition of the BFT-BTN ceramics. In addition, the dynamic piezoelectric coefficient (d ∗ 33) was enhanced from 265 pm/V for (BFT-BTNb-0) to 360 pm/V for (BFT-BTNb-1) with high working temperature, Tm = 320 ◦ C.

Purpose: Asthma is the most common respiratory disease affecting more than 350 million people worldwide. Epidemiological studies found an association between asthma and abdominal obesity. However, the published evidence presented conflicting findings. So, this study is aimed to assess the association between abdominal obesity and asthma. Method: A Literature search was performed in databases including PubMed, and Embase from inception to July 2019. Two investigators independently retrieved the literature, extracted the data and assess the study quality using the Newcastle-Ottawa Scale. The primary outcome was to assess the association between abdominal obesity and asthma. Secondary outcomes include subgroup analysis based on gender. Review Manager version 5.3 was used for the statistical analysis. Results: This meta-analysis was based on five cohort studies with a total of 39533 patients. Included studies were of high quality. Abdominal obesity was assessed based on the waist circumference in all the included studies. The pooled analysis found a significant positive association between abdominal obesity and asthma with an odds ratio of 1.66 (95% CI: 1.30 - 2.15), p= <0.0001 (Fig.1). Subgroup analysis based on the female population found a significant positive association between abdominal obesity and asthma with a pooled odds ratio of 1.30 (95% CI: 1.04 - 1.63), p= 0.02. Whereas, a non-significant association exists when the data were pooled for the male population with an odds ratio of 1.66 (95% CI: 0.78 - 3.52), p= 0.19. Conclusion: We found a positive association between abdominal obesity and asthma. Future large epidemiological studies are warranted to make the evidence more robust.

Triclosan (TCS) is an antimicrobial agent used in various human personal care products against both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the presence of TCSresistant bacteria in sewage water in Peshawar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK), Pakistan, for the first time. TCS-supplemented Luria Bertani (LB) agar was used to isolate TCS-tolerant bacteria. A total of 17 TCSresistant isolates were randomly selected from a large pool of bacteria that showed growth on TCS-supplemented LB agar. Based on gram staining and physiochemical characteristics, the isolated strains were identified as Salmonella typhi (n = 6), Escherichia coli (n = 4), Citrobacter freundii (n = 4), Proteus mirabilis (n = 1), Enterobacter cloacae (n = 1), and Pseudomonas aeruginosa (n = 1). The Triclosan mean minimum inhibitory concentrations (MICs) for the isolates of Salmonella typhi, Escherichia coli, Citrobacter freundii, Proteus mirabilis, Enterobacter cloacae, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa were 23.66 μg ml-1, 18.75 μg ml-1, 42 μg ml-1, 32 μg ml-1, 64 μg ml-1, and 128 μg ml-1, respectively. The antibiogram revealed that all isolates were resistant to penicillin G (100%) and linezolid (100%), followed by ampicillin (94%), tetracycline (76%), tazobactam (76%), sulbactam/cefoperazone (64%), polymyxin PB (58%), amikacin (29.41%), aztreonam (29.41%), imipenem (5%), and gentamicin (5%). This is the first known study regarding the isolation of TCStolerant bacteria from sewage water in Peshawar, KPK, Pakistan. It was concluded that all the TCS-resistant isolates were multidrug resistant (MDR) gram-negative rod-shaped bacteria, mostly belonging to the Enterobacteriaceae family.

This study’s fundamental purpose is to examine the personality factors of business school faculty members in job satisfaction and job performance. Results show the significant impact of multicultural faculty members’ job performance in a diverse environment in the Business schools of Karachi. The data is collected through the multi questionnaires from the various teaching, non-teaching staff, and students of private business schools of Karachi in Pakistan. The data has been tested through the Jamovi-by-medmod, and the regression model is to scrutinize and find the effect dependent variables to mediation. Simultaneously, results are calculated by mediation estimates and path estimates through the medmod technic and regression test from data. It provides a comprehensive insight into various factors such as personality traits, self-efficiency, Psychological diversity climate, self-esteem, and human resource management practices. These are the primary evaluated factors that affect multicultural faculty members’ job satisfaction and job performance. However, results show a positive relationship between diversity climate and job performance, which mediates by job satisfaction. Similarly, personality traits show a positive relationship with job performance that mediates by job satisfaction. Correspondingly, self-esteem spectacles are a positive inter-relationship with job performance which is mediated by job satisfaction.

Recently, image super-resolution techniques used in convolutional neural networks (CNN) have led to remarkable performance in the research area of digital image processing applications and computer vision tasks. Convolutional layers stacked on top of each other can design a more complex network architecture, but they also use more memory in terms of the number of parameters and introduce the vanishing gradient problem during training. Furthermore, earlier approaches of single image super-resolution used interpolation technique as a pre-processing stage to upscale the low-resolution image into HR image. The design of these approaches is simple, but not effective and insert the newer unwanted pixels (noises) in the reconstructed HR image. In this paper, authors are propose a novel single image super-resolution architecture based on synchronized depthwise separable convolution with Dense Skip Connection Block (DSCB). In addition, unlike existing SR methods that only rely on single path, but our proposed method used the synchronizes path for generating the SISR image. Extensive quantitative and qualitative experiments show that our method (SDCN) achieves promising improvements than other state-of-the-art methods.

Improving the life time of water treatment membranes can be achieved through exquisite control of the active disinfectant release. The Ppresent study demonstrates a comparison between PES-Gr-AgNPs, PES-CNT-AgNPs and aminenated PES-AgNPs composite polymer membrane for silver release to check the life time of water treatment membrane. Antibacterial activities of the samples were carried out to investigate the disinfection performance of the samples on the Gram negative bacteria (Escherichia coli). A predominant relation between Silver release and disinfection was accessed using the as-synthesized membranes. The physical-chemical properties of the samples were examined by XRD, SEM-EDAX, and HRTEM analyses.
LDCSIR: Lightweight Deep CNN-based Approach for Single Image Super-Resolution

Single image super-resolution (SISR) is an image processing technique, and its main target is to reconstruct the high-quality or high-resolution (HR) image from the low-quality or low-resolution (LR) image. Currently, deep learning-based convolutional neural network (CNN) image super-resolution approaches achieved remarkable improvement over the previous approaches. Furthermore, earlier approaches used hand designed filter to upscale the LR image into HR image. The design architecture of such approaches is easy, but it introduces the extra unwanted pixels in the reconstructed image. To resolve these issues, we propose novel deep learning-based approach known as Lightweight deep CNN-based approach for Single Image Super-Resolution (LDCSIR). In this paper, we propose a new architecture which is inspired by ResNet with Inception blocks, which significantly drop the computational cost of the model and increase the processing time for reconstructing the HR image. Compared with the other state of the art methods, LDCSIR achieves better performance in terms of quantitively (PSNR/SSIM) and qualitatively.
