A Model-Based Analysis of Secure Video Transmission Based on IPSec and IPv4
Quang-Dao Van,Anne Wei,Benoît Geller,Gérard Dupeyrat 한국전자통신연구원 2005 ETRI Journal Vol.27 No.2
A promising solution to protect wired Internet networks is to use the Secure Internet Protocol (IPSec); however, this has some drawbacks, particularly on the quality of service (QoS). This paper aims at evaluating the video traffic QoS in terms of end-to-end delay and packet loss rate. Based on some basic assumptions, our analysis shows that the performance with IPSec is rapidly inferior to the IPv4 performance. We thus suggest adding some QoS parameters into IPSec in order to achieve a compromise between QoS and security.

Porcine epidemic diarrhea (PED) is characterized by acute enteritis, watery diarrhea, weight loss, dehydration, and death, with high mortality in neonatal piglets. In this study, 3 virus isolates collected in Vietnam between 2016 and 2017 were propagated successfully in Vero cells at high virus titers. Sequence analysis of the fulllength spike (S) gene showed that all 3 isolates belong to genogroup 2b, which is closely related to other prevalent Asian strains. A comparison of the amino acid sequence revealed a 98.19% to 99.13% homology with the Vietnam isolates circulating during 2013–2015, suggesting that field PED viruses (PEDVs) are evolving continuously. Experiments in animals showed that the antisera from guinea pigs immunized with the vaccine strain resulted in higher levels (5 log2) of neutralizing antibodies against the homologous strain and a relatively moderate level of neutralizing antibodies against the field isolates. This finding would be helpful in selecting a PEDV strain for vaccine development.
Azimuth method for ship position in celestial navigation
Van-Suong NGUYEN,Nam-Kyun IM,Quang-Dan DAO 국제이네비해양경제학회 2017 International Journal of e-Navigation and Maritime Vol.7 No.1
The methods of celestial navigation to fix the ship position in line with the stars are only applied in the twilight time interval when both the celestial bodies and the horizon apppear simultaneously. This means that these methods cannot be used during the night even if the stars are visible. This paper proposes a novel approach which uses the azimuth of the celestial body in order to establish the great circle equation relating the observed body to the ship position when the celestial bodies appear. In addition, the proposed method does not demand the horizon and sextant equipment as with the previous methods. The key advantage which differentiates this method from previous ones is its ability to determine the ship position during the night when the horizon is invisible. Firstly, the vector calculus is applied to find the mathematical equation for the ship position through analyzing the relationship between the ship position and the great-circle azimuth of the observed body. Secondly, the equation system for the ship position is expanded into a standard system in which the input for the proposed mathematical system are the great-circle azimuth and the coordinates of the observed body. Finally, the numerical technique is also proposed to solve the nonlinear system for the ship position. To verify the validation of this proposed method, a numerical experiment is carried out and the results show that it can be applied well in practice.

Three isolates (HID9047, HID9048, and HID9049) were listed in the original text as belonging to subgroup 2a during phylogenetic analysis. However, it was later determined by adding PEDV reference strains that they actually belonged to subgroup 2b. Therefore, we retract the former article

This article addresses a trajectory tracking control approach for an uncertain surface vessel using the new cascade structure of adaptive reinforcement learning (ARL) algorithm and kinematic controller, feed-forward term. Since a surface vessel is decoupled by kinematic sub-system and dynamic sub-system, the cascade control system is an ideal method for obtaining the tracking problem. In the proposed control structure, the dynamic control loop is designed to be the optimized method of the corresponding dynamic sub-system and the kinematic control loop is implemented by a nonlinear controller combining with feed-forward term. The online actor-critic architecture is considered in ARL algorithm to overcome the challenge of solving the Hamilton-Jacobi-Bellman (HJB) equation. Additionally, the proposed controller is able to handle the difficulty of the non-autonomous optimal control problem by designing the ARL technique for the corresponding system with a small number of state variables. Based on theoretical analysis, the ARL based control design has been made to guarantee the uniformly ultimately bounded (UUB) stability of the closed system. Finally, the simulation results are illustrated to verify the effectiveness of the proposed control scheme.

In the present work, ZnO/g-C₃N₄/biochar was prepared, and it was used for visible-light driven photocatalytic degradation of some colorants (methylene blue, rhodamine B, methyl orange) and some antibiotics (doxycycline, ciprofloxacin, amoxicilline). Biochar was prepared by pyrolysing Phragmites australis biomass. The ZnO/g-C₃N₄/biochar composite was synthesized with the alkaline hydrolysis method. The obtained materials were characterized by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, transition electron microscopy, energy dispersive X-ray/elemental mapping, ultraviolet-visible-diffuse reflectance spectroscopy, photoluminescence spectroscopy, nitrogen adsorption/desorption isotherms and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. The results show that ZnO nanoparticles with a large surface area are highly dispersed on the g-C₃N₄ particle surface and biochar. The composite exhibits superior photocatalytic degradation ability toward doxycycline, a broad-spectrum antibiotic of the tetracycline compared with individual components (ZnO or g-C₃N₄) and satisfies stability after six treatment cycles. The kinetics and degradation mechanisms of doxycyline were also addressed. In addition, the present catalyst also exhibits the photocatalytic degradation of methylene blue, rhodamine B, methyl orange, ciprofloxacin and amoxicillin in visible-light regions.
