A Study on Usage Behavior of Influencers by College Students
Sanghee Park(Sanghee Park),Kiyoon Kim(Kiyoon Kim) J-INSTITUTE 2022 Public Value Vol.7 No.2
Purpose: This study aims to explore the various influencing factors that influencer channel characteristics have on users, targeting university students who are the main users of various social media after the pandemic. Method: in-depth interviews were conducted with 15 college students to investigate their influencer usage behaviors, explore factors affecting their use, and develop a related research model. Results: First of all, in the early days of using content, they encountered content for reasons such as topicality, information, friend recommendation, and curiosity, and there was a tendency to select content based on similar tastes through algorithm and friend recommendation. In particular, the highly topical contents of influencers recommended by friends played an important role in forming peer culture with friends. It was found that sincerity and candor revealed in the content were important factors influencing the period when an influencer's channel was subscribed and used continuously and intimacy was formed. When they felt their sincerity and honesty, they realized that they were different from other influencers and continued to watch them. It was found that the interaction factor plays a decisive role in forming intimacy with influencers and contin-uously using the channel for more than 3 months, forming a fandom and recommending content to others. Conclusion: This usage behavior of college students has great implications for companies that want to pro-mote and market through the influencer channel. As the factors that affect users vary depending on when they use the influencer channel, a promotional strategy that reflects this is needed. In addition, as integrity and hon-esty are important factors in building users' trust, it should be given more important value than anything else in maintaining and managing channels.
Genomic Surveillance of SARS-CoV-2: Distribution of Clades in the Republic of Korea in 2020

Since a novel beta-coronavirus, severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) was first reported in December 2019, there has been a rapid global spread of the virus. Genomic surveillance was conducted on samples isolated from infected individuals to monitor the spread of genetic variants of SARS-CoV-2 in Korea. The Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency performed whole genome sequencing of SARS-CoV-2 in Korea for 1 year (January 2020 to January 2021). A total of 2,488 SARS-CoV-2 cases were sequenced (including 648 cases from abroad). Initially, the prevalent clades of SARS-CoV-2 were the S and V clades, however, by March 2020, GH clade was the most dominant. Only international travelers were identified as having G or GR clades, and since the first variant 501Y.V1 was identified (from a traveler from the United Kingdom on December 22nd, 2020), a total of 27 variants of 501Y.V1, 501Y.V2, and 484K.V2 have been classified (as of January 25th, 2021). The results in this study indicated that quarantining of travelers entering Korea successfully prevented dissemination of the SARS-CoV-2 variants in Korea.

Background Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb) is resistant to the β-lactam antibiotics due to a non-classical transpeptidase in the cell wall with β-lactamase activity. A recent study showed that meropenem combined with a β-lactamase inhibitor clavulanate, was effective in MDR and XDR tuberculosis (TB). However, clavulanate can only be used in drugs containing amoxicillin in Korea. In this study, we investigated the susceptibility and genetic mutations of drug-resistant Mtb isolates to amoxicillin-clavulanate and meropenem-clavulanate to improve the diagnosis and treatment of drug-resistant TB patients. Methods The minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) of amoxicillin-clavulanate and meropenem-clavulanate was examined by resazurin microtiter assay. We used 82 MDR and 40 XDR strains isolated in Korea and two reference laboratory strains. Mutations of drug targets blaC, blaI, ldtA, ldtB, dacB2, and crfA were analyzed by PCR and DNA sequencing. Results The MIC90 values of amoxicillin and meropenem with clavulanate in drug-resistant Mtb isolates were 64 and 16, respectively. Gene mutations related to amoxicillin/clavulanate and meropenem/clavulanate resistance could not be identified, but T448G mutation of was found in the blaC gene related to β-lactam antibiotics high susceptibility. Conclusion Our results provide clinical consideration of β-lactams in treating drug-resistant TB and potential molecular markers of amoxicillin-clavulanate and meropenem-clavulanate susceptibility.

This study compared attitudes toward mobile phone ildl’advertising among college students in South Korea and the United States. This study also determines attitudes, uses and buying behaviors related to mobile phone advertising in South Korea and the United States. To analyze the effect of advertising on mobile phones, this study hypothesizes that the level of exposure to mobile phone advertising messages will affect attitudes toward mobile phone advertising messages, and mobile phone users’ attitudes toward mobile phone advertising messages will affect their buying behaviors. This research surveyed a total of 253 college students, 144 participants from South Korea and 109 participants from the United States. By comparing respondents in South Korea and the United States, this study found that both countries have differences in the frequency of mobile phone use, the level of exposure to advertising messages, attitudes toward advertising messages, and buying behavior based on mobile phone advertising messages.

Photoaffinity-based target identification has received recent attention as an efficient research tool for chemical biology and drug discovery. The major obstacle of photoaffinity-based target identification is the nonspecific interaction between target identification probes and nontarget proteins. Consequently, the rational design of photoaffinity linkers has been spotlighted for successful target identification. These nonspecific interactions have been considered as random events, and therefore no systematic investigation has been conducted regarding nonspecific interactions between proteins and photoaffinity linkers. Herein, we report the protein-labeling analysis of photoaffinity linkers containing three photoactivatable moieties: benzophenone, diazirine, and arylazide. Each photoaffinity linker binds to a different set of proteins in a structure-dependent manner, in contrast to the previous conception. The list of proteins labeled by each photoaffinity linker was successfully used to eliminate the nonspecific binding proteins from target candidates, thereby increasing the success rate of target identification.

An experimental study on the production of the double accusative ditransitives in Korean
Park, Sanghee,Yi, Eunkyung 미래영어영문학회 2021 영어영문학 Vol.26 No.4
The purpose of this study is to revisit the production of the Korean ditransitive constructions reported in Park & Yi (2021). The phenomenon is puzzling particularly because the double accusative ditransitive construction tends to be judged highly unacceptable and rarely observed in natural language corpora, while speakers produced a non-trivial number of them in an experimental setting. This study attempts to replicate the results of their production experiment on a different pool of participants and with a much larger sample size (N=96). Based on this new dataset, we conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis of speakers’ free continuations after two types of prompts, i.e., including either dative- or accusative-marked animate argument as a potential recipient. We examine the validity of the previous results and also discuss a variety of continuations provided by participants and their implications for Korean sentence production.
