The rate of resistant pest emergence has accelerated due to the continuous use of pesticides. Therefore, it is important to formulate insecticide resistance management measures and effective control methods for pest. Bemisia tabaci, a greenhouse pest, causes direct damage to crops such as growth inhibition and leaf discoloration at all developmental stages except for eggs. It also indirectly damages plants by secreting honeydew, which covers surrounding leaves and fruits, leading to sooty mold development. In this study, eight insecticides with high usage rates, categorized by their mode of action, were selected. Samples of Bemisia tabaci were collected from six regions, and resistance analysis were conducted. The results showed that Flonicamid exhibited a resistance ratio of 8.91 in Sejong, while Pyriproxyfen showed a high resistance ratio of 63.56 in Gunwi. Fluxametamide, Spinetoram, Cyantraniliprole, Dinotefuran, Pyridaben, and Milbemectin displayed resistance ratio ranging from 0.02 to 1.14 in most regions, except for Flonicamid and Pyriproxyfen.
Distribution and flavivirus detection of mosquitoes by collecting trap in Gyeongbuk province in 2017

We investigated population densities of mosquitoes in Gyeongbuk region from March to November, 2017 and pathogens were detected from the mosquitoes. Mosquito populations were investigated at 3 sites in downtown and 1 site in cowshed in Andong, 3 sites in Yeongdeok downtown and 3 sites near migratory birds habitat in Sangju by collecting trap. Total collected female mosquitoes were 7 genus, 13 species, 9,892 individuals and relatively dominant ratios are Aedes vexans (40%), Ae. albopictus (20%), Culex pipiens (16%). Flavivirus were monitored in 9,125 collected mosquitoes by real-time PCR and no target flavivirus causing infectious diseases were detected in Gyeongbuk area in 2017.
Tensile and Microstructural Characteristics of Fe-24Mn Steel Welds for Cryogenic Applications

Herein, we investigated the weldability and relationship between microstructure and tensile properties in 24 wt% Mn steelwelds and, specifcally, submerged arc welds (SAWs) were produced using these welds for cryogenic applications. The basemetal (BM) and weld metal (WM) exhibited a stacking fault energy (SFE) that maintained a stable austenite phase for 27.1and 17.0 mJ/m2, respectively. Deformation twins were observed after tensile testing of the BM and WM at 298 K. Weld metals using undermatched fllers showed a lower SFE and coarser grain size (~ 86 μm) compared to that of the BM (~ 12 μm). Therefore, the tensile testing at 110 K produced deformation twins and ε-martensite. The formation of ε-martensite withdeformation twins antedated necking during tensile testing and elongation decreased at 110 K. However, the SAWs of highMn steels maintained excellent low-temperature mechanical properties such as elongation, tensile strength, and yield strengthwith values of 20%, 1150 MPa, and 617 MPa, respectively.

심해 및 극지방에서 채굴되는 셰일, 고체가스 및 천연가스에 대한 수요는 꾸준히 증가하고 있다. 이러한 에너지 자원들을 채굴 및 보관하기 위해서는 극저온 특성이 우수한 재료의 적용이 필수적이며 이에 대한 수요 또한 증가하고 있다. 현재 대부분의 극저온 재료는 9% Ni강과 오스테나이트계 스테인리스강이 주로 사용되어지고 있으며 용접재료로 Ni가 다량 함유된 용접재료를 주로 사용하고 있다. 최근에는 상대적 가격이 저렴하며 극저온특성이 우수한 고망간강의 용접성에 대한 연구가 증가하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 극저온용 고망간강의 laser welding 시 발생하는 합금원소 기화 현상에 대한 실험 결과 및 모델링에 대해 연구하였다. 실험은 fiber laser를 사용하여 고망간강 판재에 대한 bead-on-plate 시험을 실시하였다. 동일한 출력과 용접 속도로 defocusing 거리를 변수로 하여 keyhole, conduction mode에서 발생하는 기화 현상에 대해 기화 플럭스 모델링 계산을 통해 실험적 결과를 고찰해 보았다.
