        김승옥 시나리오 〈안개〉의 구조와 장면 분석

        김승옥의 단편소설 「무진기행」은 동일 작가에 의해 시나리오 〈안개〉로 각색되었으며, 이후 김수용 감독에 의해 영화화되었다. 시나리오 〈안개〉는 소설 「무진기행」의 특징을 잘 살리고 있으며, 소설의 내면적 심리를 영화적인 장면으로 잘 확장한 사례에 해당한다. 본고에서는 삶과 죽음의 경계영역이자 중립항인 ‘비-삶’과 ‘비-죽음’의 영역을 설정한 다음, 비-삶에서 비-죽음에 이르기까지의 서사프로그램이 이 작품의 중요한 스토리 라인을 형성하고 있음을 밝히고, 이러한 서사프로그램을 뒷받침하는 영화적 장치에 주목하였다. 시나리오 작가는 소설의 내적 독백을 줄이기 위해 몇 가지의 보충적 사건을 삽입하는데, 이는 ‘안개’의 기표와 기의를 중점적으로 드러내는 데에 집중하고 있다. 작가의 이러한 방식은 상당히 표현주의적인 것에 가까운데, 영화에서는 이 중의 몇 가지를 생략함으로써 원래의 시나리오가 전달하고자 했던 의미를 일부 포기하고 있다. 한편 시나리오 〈안개〉는 ‘여행과 귀환’이라는 대중적인 플롯을 따르고 있는데, 이러한 플롯에서는 상징적인 죽음과 재탄생을 다룬다. The famous short story 〈A Journey to Mujin((무진기행)〉 written by Seung-ok Kim(김승옥) was adapted to the scenario 〈Mist(안개)〉by the same author. Immediately, it was filmed by the director, Su-yong Kim. This paper focused on the structure and the scene presented in the Scenario 〈Mist〉. The scenario 〈Mist〉 can be estimated the well-made play which made 〈A Journey to Mujin〉 better. It can be the successful example which convert the excellent short story to the brilliant film. Screen writer inserred some supplementary events to currail the long, sometimes boresome, inner monologue in the short story. Those events concentrated on the signifier and the signified ‘mist’ to intensify the theme of the work. These techniques are closer to the pattern of the expressionism film. Director Su-yong Kim reduced those supplementary events to make this cinema more popular. The master plot of the scenario 〈Mist〉 belong to the pattern of ‘voyage and Return’ which followed the cycles of the symbolic death and rebirth.

      • Low-temperature wafer-scale growth of MoS<sub>2</sub>-graphene heterostructures

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>In this study, we successfully demonstrate the fabrication of a MoS<SUB>2</SUB>-graphene heterostructure (MGH) on a 4 inch wafer at 300 °C by depositing a thin Mo film seed layer on graphene followed by sulfurization using H<SUB>2</SUB>S plasma. By utilizing Raman spectroscopy and high-resolution transmission electron microscopy, we have confirmed that 5–6 MoS<SUB>2</SUB> layers with a large density of sulfur vacancies are grown uniformly on the entire substrate. The chemical composition of MoS<SUB>2</SUB> on graphene was evaluated by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, which confirmed the atomic ratio of Mo to S to be 1:1.78, which is much lower than the stoichiometric value of 2 from standard MoS<SUB>2</SUB>. To exploit the properties of the nanocrystalline and defective MGH film obtained in our process, we have utilized it as a catalyst for hydrodesulfurization and as an electrocatalyst for the hydrogen evolution reaction. Compared to MoS<SUB>2</SUB> grown on an amorphous SiO<SUB>2</SUB> substrate, the MGH has smaller onset potential and Tafel slope, indicating its enhanced catalytic performance.       • Effects of anode flooding on the performance degradation of polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cells

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>Polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cell (PEMFC) stacks in a fuel cell vehicle can be inevitably exposed to harsh environments such as cold weather in winter, causing water flooding by the direct flow of condensed water to the electrodes. In this study, anode flooding was experimentally investigated with condensed water generated by cooling the anode gas line during a long-term operation (∼1600 h). The results showed that the performance of the PEMFC was considerably degraded. After the long-term experiment, the thickness of the anode decreased, and the ratio of Pt to carbon in the anode increased. Moreover, repeated fuel starvation of the half-cell severely oxidized the carbon surface due to the high induced potential (>1.5 V<SUB>RHE</SUB>). The cyclic voltammogram of the anode in the half-cell experiments indicated that the characteristic feature of the oxidized carbon surface was similar to that of the anode in the single cell under anode flooding conditions during the long-term experiment. Therefore, repeated fuel starvation by anode flooding caused severe carbon corrosion in the anode because the electrode potential locally increased to >1.0 V<SUB>RHE</SUB>. Consequently, the density of the tri-phase boundary decreased due to the corrosion of carbons supporting the Pt nanoparticles in the anode.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> Anode flooding can occur by direct flow of condensed water in humidified fuel. </LI> <LI> Anode flooding induces local fuel starvation and high potential in the anode. </LI> <LI> High potential locally present in the anode results in anode carbon corrosion. </LI> <LI> Anode carbon corrosion plays a key role in MEA degradation by anode flooding. </LI> </UL> </P>

        Model-Based Analysis of the ZrO2 Etching Mechanism in Inductively Coupled BCl3/Ar and BCl3/CHF3/Ar Plasmas

        The etching mechanism of ZrO2 thin films and etch selectivity over some materials in both BCl3/Ar and BCl3/CHF3/Ar plasmas are investigated using a combination of experimental and modeling methods. To obtain the data on plasma composition and fluxes of active species, global (0-dimensional) plasma models are developed with Langmuir probe diagnostics data. In BCl3/Ar plasma, changes in gas mixing ratio result in nonlinear changes of both densities and fluxes for Cl, BCl2, and BCl2 +. In this work, it is shown that the nonmonotonic behavior of the ZrO2 etch rate as a function of the BCl3/Ar mixing ratio could be related to the ionassisted etch mechanism and the ion-flux-limited etch regime. The addition of up to 33% CHF3 to the BCl3-rich BCl3/Ar plasma does not influence the ZrO2 etch rate, but it non-monotonically changes the etch rates of both Si and SiO2. The last effect can probably be associated with the corresponding behavior of the F atom density.

      • Using Tractography to Distinguish SWEDD from Parkinson's Disease Patients Based on Connectivity

        <P><I>Background</I>. It is critical to distinguish between Parkinson's disease (PD) and scans without evidence of dopaminergic deficit (SWEDD), because the two groups are different and require different therapeutic approaches.<I> Objective</I>. The aim of this study was to distinguish SWEDD patients from PD patients using connectivity information derived from diffusion tensor imaging tractography.<I> Methods</I>. Diffusion magnetic resonance images of SWEDD (<I>n</I> = 37) and PD (<I>n</I> = 40) were obtained from a research database. Tractography, the process of obtaining neural fiber information, was performed using custom software. Group-wise differences between PD and SWEDD patients were quantified using the number of connected fibers between two regions, and correlation analyses were performed based on clinical scores. A support vector machine classifier (SVM) was applied to distinguish PD and SWEDD based on group-wise differences.<I> Results</I>. Four connections showed significant group-wise differences and correlated with the Unified Parkinson's Disease Rating Scale sponsored by the Movement Disorder Society. The SVM classifier attained 77.92% accuracy in distinguishing between SWEDD and PD using these identified connections.<I> Conclusions</I>. The connections and regions identified represent candidates for future research investigations.</P>

        세 인물, 세 사건에 기초한 9단계 서사모형의 제안

        이 논문은 세 명의 인물, 세 개의 사건에 기초한 9단계 서사모형을 제안하는 것에 목표를 두었다. 이 논문에서 제안하는 서사모형은 우리에게 익숙한 대부분의 이야기 형식이 세 명의 인물, 세 개의 사건을 기반으로 한다는 점에 착안한 것이다. 먼저 그림 형제와 제이콥스가 수집한 297편의 작품 중 제목에서 숫자 3이 명시적으로 확인되는 30편을 샘플로 골라, 그 의미와 유형을 분석해보았다. 그 다음 단계에서는 세 명의 인물(Character)에 각각 C1, C2, C3를 부여하고, 세 개의 사건(Event)에 각각 E1, E2, E3를 부여한 다음, 이를 행과 열로 처리한 도표를 제시하였다. 세 사건의 배열 축을 수평의 연합(combination) 관계로, 세 인물의 배열 축을 수직의 선택(selection) 관계로 설정하면, 세 명의 인물과 세 개의 사건이 조합해낼 수 있는 9개의 빈 칸이 제시되는데, 이를 ‘9단계 서사모형’으로 명명하였다. 이러한 서사모형은 기왕의 이분법적 서사모형이 포괄할 수 없는 제 3의 요소들을 담을 수 있다는 점에서 좀더 효율적인 서사모형으로 활용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다. The theme of this paper is to propose a nine-stage narrative model based on three characters and three events. The narrative model proposed in this paper focuses on the fact that most of the narratives we are familiar with are based on three characters and three events. First of all, I analyzed the types and meanings of thirty stories which were selected from the total 297 stories collected by Grimm Brothers and Joseph Jacobs. In the next step, I endowed C1, C2, and C3 to each of three characters and E1, E2, and E3 to each of three events. After numbering, I made a simple tableau consisted of three rows and three columns. When the axes of three events are set to a horizontal combination relationship and the axes of three characters are set to a vertical selection relationship, nine blanks are presented that can be named the "nine-step narrative model". This narrative model is expected to be used as a more efficient narrative model because it can contain third elements that cannot be covered by the dichotomous narrative model of the past.

        세대인문학, 어떻게 할 것인가 : 새로운 세대의 인문교육을 위하여

        전지구적 세계화의 추세 속에서 국가, 민족, 언어 등 근대국가의 정체성을 형성하는 장벽들이 점차 허물어지고 있다. 그러나 이러한 경계 넘어서기와는 반대편에서, 빈부 격차와 세대 격차의 문제는 점차 심각해지는 양상이다. 특히 세대 간의 격차는 정치, 경제, 사회, 문화의 각 영역에서 문제시되는 바, 이의 해결을 위한 인문학적 기여에 대해 고민할 시점에 와 있다. 물론 사회발달이 가속화될수록 세대 차의 발생은 불가피한 측면이 있다. 그러나 최근 부의 양극화에 따른 계층의 양극화, 디지털 기술의 발달로 인한 정보격차 등의 문제는 기성세대와 청년세대에게 각각 고통의 근원이 되고 있다. 기성세대는 인간이 겪어야 할 최고의 난관인 노화에 시달리면서도 한편으로는 디지털 정보 영역에서의 소외로 인한 고통을 안고 있다. 또한 청년 세대는 저성장으로 인한 일자리 부족, 전반적인 복지에서의 소외 등의 고통을 겪는다. 양 세대는 공히 소통의 부족에 대해 불평하지만, 이를 해소할 구체적인 방안을 찾지 못하고 있다. 이들의 불평은 가히 ‘에이지즘(ageism, 연령차별주의)’로 통칭할만한 사회적 현상으로 이어질 위험성도 안고 있다. 본고에서는 세대차에서 비롯되는 문제를 극복하기 위한 인문학적 대안을 모색하기 위한 방법론으로서 ‘세대 인문학’이라는 아젠다를 제시하고자 했다. 세대 인문학은 정보 격차, 분배의 격차 등에서 비롯되는 제반 문제를 기존의 윤리 규범은 물론 경제적 교환의 윤리에 바탕을 둔 소통의 통로를 통해 대안을 제시하는 데에 기여해야 한다. 대학의 교양 교육도 이러한 방향을 지향하면서 새롭게 개편되어야 할 것이다. 교양에 관한 새로운 관점을 제시하는 것 또한 세대 인문학을 위한 초석으로서의 의미를 지닐 것이다. According to the trend of globalization, the walls that form the identity of modern nations such as countries, ethnic groups and languages are gradually collapsed. However, on the contrary of these phenomenons, the disparity of rich and poor disparity and generation gap becomes more and more serious. The gap between old and new generations becomes more serious that we must effort to solve these problem in the way of humanities contribution. When the social development is accelerated, it is inevitable the problem of generation gap occurs. Particularly, the problems of income gap and information gap have become sources of pain both for the old generation and young generation. The old generation is suffering from aging which is a fundamental difficulty if a human being suffers, but on the other hand it has suffering from alienation in the digital information area. In addition, the young generation undergoes pain such as shortage of employment due to low growth, alienation of overall welfare. Both generations complain about the lack of communication, but they have not been able to find a concrete scheme to resolve this. These complaints lead to a social phenomenon so generically as “age discrimination” or “ageism”. In this paper, we tried to present an agenda called “Humanities for Generations” as a methodology to explore humanistic alternatives to overcome problems coming from the gap between generations. humanities for generations must contribute to the proposal of alternatives through various communication paths based on the ethics of economic exchange as well as existing ethical norms as well as various problems such as information gaps and income gaps. The liberal arts education of the university should also be reformed aiming for such a direction. Presenting a new viewpoint on culture is also a meaning as a basis for humanities for generations.
