The long non-coding RNA UPAT promotes gastric cancer cell progression via UHRF1

        Liu Chaoyong,Hao De,Ai Minghua,Zhang Yan,Li Jie,Xu Chao 한국유전학회 2022 Genes & Genomics Vol.44 No.10

Background: LncRNA ubiquitin-like with PHD and RING finger domains 1 (UHRF1) protein associated transcript (UPAT) regulates the progression of many cancers. However, its role in gastric cancer (GC) is less frequently reported. Objective: In the context of the promoting effect of lncRNA on modulating GC progression, detailed insights into the role and underlying mechanism of UPAT in GC are the foothold in this study. Methods: Overall survival was calculated. The mRNA expressions of UPAT and UHRF1 were measured by qRT-PCR, and the protein expressions of UHRF1, Cyclin D1 and cleaved caspase-3 were determined by western blot. Cell viability, growth, migration and invasion were assessed by CCK-8, colony formation, wound healing and Transwell assays, respectively. Apoptosis rate and cell cycle were assayed by flow cytometry. Results: UPAT was overexpressed in GC tissue and cell lines. Decreased UPAT level was associated with higher overall survival. Down-regulation of UPAT diminished cell proliferation, Cyclin D1 expression, and migration and invasion rates, increased apoptosis rate and cleaved caspase-3 expression, and blocked cell cycle in AGS and NCI-N87 cells. UPAT expression in GC was positively correlated with UHRF1 expression. UHRF1 overexpression offset the inhibitory effects of UPAT down-regulation on cell proliferation, migration, invasion and cell cycle, and partially reversed the positive effect of UPAT down-regulation on apoptosis. Conclusion: UPAT might positively regulate the progression of GC via interacting with UHRF1. The UHRF1/UPAT axis revealed in the present study may provide a promising approach to intervene in the progression of GC.

Regulating the magnetic anisotropy by Hf thickness and heat treatment in Pt/Co/Hf films

        Li Minghua,Zhang Shijie,Wang Shuanghai,Li Yongzeng,Liu Lu,Chen Yu,Shi Hui,Yu Guanghua 한국물리학회 2022 Current Applied Physics Vol.34 No.-

Pt/Co/Hf multilayers were prepared by magnetron sputtering, and the magnetic anisotropy was effectively regulated by Hf thickness and heat treatment in Pt/Co/Hf films. The interface microstructures were characterized. The influence of the interface microstructure on magnetic properties was studied. The results show that the magnetic anisotropy in Pt/Co/Hf films is closely related to the interface microstructure, which is influenced by Hf thickness and the heat treatment temperature. Microstructure analysis shows that after the Pt(3)/Co(1.5)/Hf (1) film is heat-treated, the CoOx content increases, more CoPt(111) forms, the interface is smoother and sharper, and the roughness of the Co/Hf interface decreases. Several factors work together to cause the magnetic anisotropy of the sample to change from in-plane magnetic anisotropy (IMA)to perpendicular magnetic anisotropy (PMA).

Influence of Silane-based Impregnation Agent on the Permeability of Concretes

Baoju Liu,Jiali Qin,Minghua Sun 대한토목학회 2019 KSCE JOURNAL OF CIVIL ENGINEERING Vol.23 No.8

Three types of silane-based impregnation agent (short for SIA) are used to treat the concrete surface, and the influence of water/ binder (W/B) ratio, mineral admixtures, curing methods, the type and dosage of SIA on the capillary water absorption and electric flux of concretes is examined. Results show that the penetration depth of SIA increases with the increasing of the W/B ratio and SIA dosage, and is related to the type of SIA. Surface treatment by SIA can reduce capillary water absorption and electric flux of concretes, the W/B ratio and curing methods are no longer the main factor, the increasing of the SIA dosage can further improve the surface protection effect of concrete. Mineral admixtures improve the compactness of concretes, and the combined effects of surface treatment and admixtures can evidently enhance the impermeability of concrete. Different types of SIAs have different mechanisms of action on the surface treatment of concrete, and thus have different impacts on the permeability of concrete. The concrete treated by SIA2 with the effects of the penetration and the formation of surface film layer has lower permeability.

      • A Fast and Accurate Detection Method of Instantaneous Reactive Current in Single-phase Power System

        Xiaokang Liu,Liansong Xiong,Fang Zhuo,Ying Chen,Minghua Zhu 전력전자학회 2015 ICPE(ISPE)논문집 Vol.2015 No.6

Fast and accurate detection of instantaneous reactive current in single-phase power system is a pre-requisite for the precise control of STATCOM (Static Synchronous Compensator). A major solution is based on the construction of virtual orthogonal signal in rotational coordinate transformation; however, conventional methods show weaknesses in the speed of detection and the ability of noise and harmonic suppression. In this paper, a novel method of instantaneous reactive current detection in single-phase system, with fast and accurate property as well as harmonic and noise susceptibility, is proposed. Firstly, a novel virtual orthogonal signal generation algorithm is deduced, remarkably improving the immediacy and precision of detection in synchronous reference frame. Then an enhanced moving average filter (EMAF) is utilized in cascade and its design principle is proposed, sufficiently eliminating the effects of noise and harmonics. Finally, experiments reveal that the proposed detection scheme can achieve the satisfactory control goals.

Enhancement of attraction to sex pheromone of Grapholita molesta (Busck) (Lepidoptera: Tortricidae) by structurally unrelated sex pheromone compounds of Conogethes punctiferalis (Guenée) (Lepidoptera: Crambidae)

        Deng Jianyu,Shen Zhijie,Wang Fumin,Liu Tao,Hong Wenying,Fang Minghua,Wo Linfeng,Chu Sijie 한국응용곤충학회 2022 Journal of Asia-Pacific Entomology Vol.25 No.1

Grapholita molesta (Busck) (the oriental fruit moth; OFM) and Conogethes punctiferalis (Guenée) are both fruit and stem borers with overlapping habitats, occurrences, and outbreak cycles. These two species are in different families and they have completely different sex pheromone components. Here, the effects of the sex pheromone components of C. punctiferalis, (E)-10-hexadecenal (E10-16:Ald) and (Z)-10-hexadecenal (Z10-16:Ald) and their mixture, were evaluated on the sexual communication of OFM by examining electrophysiological (EAG) and behavioral responses. We found that a considerably large amount of E10-16:Ald or Z10-16:Ald and a tiny amount of OFM pheromone elicited comparable EAG responses in OFM males, indicating the low antennal olfactory sensitivity of OFM males to the heterospecific pheromone compounds. In two different peach orchard parcels, captures of OFM by their pheromone lures baited in delta traps were increased by at least 1.5 times when OFM pheromone lures were combined with lures that contained 1000 μg of either E10-16:Ald, Z10-16:Ald or their mixture. In two other pear orchard parcels, both E10-16:Ald and Z10-16:Ald increased captures of OFM in Unitraps in a dose-dependent manner with more than a four-fold increase. Therefore, the enhanced attractiveness of OFM lures by the two interspecific pheromones suggests their potential application to improve mass trapping, population monitoring and mating disruption of OFM.

A Novel Fast Open-loop Phase Locking Scheme Based on Synchronous Reference Frame for Three-phase Non-ideal Power Grids

Xiong, Liansong,Zhuo, Fang,Wang, Feng,Liu, Xiaokang,Zhu, Minghua,Yi, Hao The Korean Institute of Power Electronics 2016 JOURNAL OF POWER ELECTRONICS Vol.16 No.4

Rapid and accurate phase synchronization is critical for the reliable control of grid-tied inverters. However, the commonly used software phase-locked loop methods do not always satisfy the need for high-speed and accurate phase synchronization under severe grid imbalance conditions. To address this problem, this study develops a novel open-loop phase locking scheme based on a synchronous reference frame. The proposed scheme is characterized by remarkable response speed, high accuracy, and easy implementation. It comprises three functional cascaded blocks: fast orthogonal signal generation block, fast fundamental-frequency positive sequence component construction block, and fast phase calculation block. The developed virtual orthogonal signal generation method in the first block, which is characterized by noise immunity and high accuracy, can effectively avoid approximation errors and noise amplification in a wide range of sampling frequencies. In the second block, which is the foundation for achieving fast phase synchronization within 3 ms, the fundamental-frequency positive sequence components of unsymmetrical grid voltages can be achieved with the developed orthogonal signal construction strategy and the symmetrical component method. The real-time grid phase can be consequently obtained in the third block, which is free from self-tuning closed-loop control and thus improves the dynamic performance of the proposed scheme. The proposed scheme is adaptive to severe unsymmetrical grid voltages with sudden changes in magnitude, phase, and/or frequency. Moreover, this scheme is able to eliminate phase errors induced by harmonics and random noise. The validity and utility of the proposed scheme are verified by the experimental results.

A Quantitative Evaluation and Comparison of Harmonic Elimination Algorithms Based on Moving Average Filter and Delayed Signal Cancellation in Phase Synchronization Applications

        Liansong Xiong,Fang Zhuo,Feng Wang,Xiaokang Liu,Minghua Zhu,Hao Yi 전력전자학회 2016 JOURNAL OF POWER ELECTRONICS Vol.16 No.2

The harmonic components of grid voltage result in oscillations of the calculated phase obtained via phase synchronization. This affects the security and stability of grid-connected converters. Moving average filter, delayed signal cancellation and their related harmonic elimination algorithms are major methods for such issues. However, all of the existing methods have their limitations in dealing with multiple harmonics issues. Furthermore, few studies have focused on a comparison and evaluation of these algorithms to achieve optimal algorithm selections in specific applications. In this paper, these algorithms are quantitatively analyzed based on the derived mathematical models. Moreover, an enhanced moving average filter and enhanced delayed signal cancellation algorithms, which are applicable for eliminating a group of selective harmonics with only one calculation block, are proposed. On this basis, both a comprehensive comparison and a quantitative evaluation of all of the aforementioned algorithms are made from several aspects, including response speed, required data storage size, sensitivity to sampling frequency, and elimination of random noise and harmonics. With the conclusions derived in this paper, better overall performance in terms of harmonic elimination can be achieved. In addition, experimental results under different conditions demonstrate the validity of this study.

A Fuzzy Cerebellar Model Articulation Controller Based Visual Servo System for Robot

        Wei Sun,Cong Wang,Shengnan Liu,Baoqiang Wu,Minghua Ouyang 제어·로봇·시스템학회 2012 International Journal of Control, Automation, and Vol.10 No.2

This paper presents a novel online learning visual servo controller integrating the FCMAC with proportion controller for the control of position of manipulator end-effector. Since the FCMAC has good learning capability and fast learning speed, and can save much computer memory space by fuzzy processing of input space division and memory unit activation, it is used to develop an adaptive control law by learning the relationship between the image feature errors and manipulator input, and the aim of online learning of the FCMAC is to minimize the output of proportion controller. Further-more, the FCMAC has no need for models of robot manipulator and image feature extraction, so that the capability of proposed controller for tasks under uncertain environment can be improved. Finally, the proposed controller is proved to be effective by the experiment, and compared with BP neural net-work.
