      • Performance optimization of flexible a-Si:H solar cells with nanotextured plasmonic substrate by tuning the thickness of oxide spacer layer

        Xiao, Huapeng,Wang, Jun,Huang, Hongtao,Lu, Linfeng,Lin, Qingfeng,Fan, Zhiyong,Chen, Xiaoyuan,Jeong, Chaehwan,Zhu, Xufei,Li, Dongdong Elsevier 2015 Nano energy Vol.11 No.-

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>Plasmonic thin film solar cells deposited on periodically textured photonic crystal substrates have been extensively studied since the substantially enhanced light absorption. The reduction of parasitic absorption losses in the metal and spacer layers becomes one of the key issues to achieve high efficiency solar cells. Herein, plasmonic amorphous silicon (a-Si:H) flexible thin film solar cells with different thickness of oxide spacer layers are systematically investigated. An increase of the spacer layer thickness leads to an evolution in surface morphology of AZO and final devices. More intriguingly, the increase of spacer layer thickness reduces the absorption in Ag layer while induces more absorption in spacer layer. The highest light absorption in silicon layer is observed as applying 100nm spacer layer, which is further verified by electrical measurements. Our observations demonstrate a versatile and convenient route towards rational design of light harvesting nanostructure for high performance plasmonic solar cells based on a broad range of materials.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> Amorphous silicon thin film solar cells are constructed on patterned substrates. </LI> <LI> The devices properties are studied as a function of spacer layer thickness. </LI> <LI> An increase of spacer layer thickness reduces the absorption loss of Ag layer. </LI> <LI> The device with 100nm spacer layer confines more incident light in silicon layer. </LI> </UL> </P> <P><B>Graphical abstract</B></P> <P>[DISPLAY OMISSION]</P>

Security Analysis of the PHOTON Lightweight Cryptosystem in the Wireless Body Area Network

( Wei Li ),( Linfeng Liao ),( Dawu Gu ),( Chenyu Ge ),( Zhiyong Gao ),( Zhihong Zhou ),( Zheng Guo ),( Ya Liu ),( Zhiqiang Liu ) 한국인터넷정보학회 2018 KSII Transactions on Internet and Information Syst Vol.12 No.1

With the advancement and deployment of wireless communication techniques, wireless body area network (WBAN) has emerged as a promising approach for e-healthcare that collects the data of vital body parameters and movements for sensing and communicating wearable or implantable healthful related information. In order to avoid any possible rancorous attacks and resource abuse, employing lightweight ciphers is most effective to implement encryption, decryption, message authentication and digital signature for security of WBAN. As a typical lightweight cryptosystem with an extended sponge function framework, the PHOTON family is flexible to provide security for the RFID and other highly-constrained devices. In this paper, we propose a differential fault analysis to break three flavors of the PHOTON family successfully. The mathematical analysis and simulating experimental results show that 33, 69 and 86 random faults in average are required to recover each message input for PHOTON-80 /20/16, PHOTON-160/36/36 and PHOTON-224/32/32, respectively. It is the first result of breaking PHOTON with the differential fault analysis. It provides a new reference for the security analysis of the same structure of the lightweight hash functions in the WBAN.

PtPd/molecular sieve as dual-functional monolithic adsorbent/catalyst for effective removal of trace toluene at low-temperature and their electric-heating performance

        Shuangde Li,Tao Wang,Mu Zhou,Shaohua Chai,Linfeng Nie,Zhenjiang Wu,Ning Han,Yunfa Chen 한국공업화학회 2022 Journal of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry Vol.114 No.-

A dual-functional adsorption–catalytic system for elimination of trace toluene is developed and realizedover molecular sieve-hosted varied ratio of platinum and palladium catalysts. PtPd/molecular sieveexhibites PdO and PtO2 around 2–3 nm particles with uniform loading verified by XRD, TEM, Ramanand XPS. The adsorption–desorption–catalysis for trace toluene purification is evaluated on the quartzmicro-reactor and the self-made electrically heated equipment. 3Pt1Pd/molecular sieve shows tolueneadsorption capacity of 18.22 mg/g and desorption efficiency about 77%, together with the maximum desorptiontemperature at 100 C. 3Pt1Pd/molecular sieve owns toluene conversion with 38.3% and 100% at100 and 200 C, accompanied with the higher CO2 selectivity of 0.0% and 150.0%, separately, due to thehigher Pd2+ content. The catalyst displays water vapor endurance, reproducibility, and 83.0% carbon balanceduring the whole adsorption–desorption–catalysis within 150 min, which highlights the sustainableapplicability in lean VOCs abatement. Furthermore, the possible catalytic reaction pathway of tolueneoxidation is proposed based on the in-situ DRIFTS experiments.

Security Analysis of the Whirlpool Hash Function in the Cloud of Things

( Wei Li ),( Zhiyong Gao ),( Dawu Gu ),( Chenyu Ge ),( Linfeng Liao ),( Zhihong Zhou ),( Ya Liu ),( Zhiqiang Liu ) 한국인터넷정보학회 2017 KSII Transactions on Internet and Information Syst Vol.11 No.1

With the advancement and deployment of leading-edge telecommunication technologies for sensing and collecting, computing related information, Cloud of Things (CoTs) has emerged as a typical application platform that is envisioned to revolutionize the daily activities of human society, such as intelligent transportation, modern logistics, food safety, environmental monitoring, etc. To avoid any possible malicious attack and resource abuse, employing hash functions is widely recognized as one of the most effective approaches for CoTs to achieve message integrity and data authentication. The Whirlpool hash function has served as part of the joint ISO/IEC 10118-3 International Standard by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). In this paper, we propose an effective differential fault analysis on Whirlpool in the byte-oriented random fault model. The mathematical analysis and experimental results show that 8 random faults on average are required to obtain the current 512-bit message input of whirlpool and the secret key of HMAC-Whirlpool. Our work demonstrates that Whirlpool and HMAC-Whirlpool are both vulnerable to the single byte differential fault analysis. It provides a new reference for the security analysis of the same structure of the hash functions in the CoTs.

Security Analysis of the Khudra Lightweight Cryptosystem in the Vehicular Ad-hoc Networks

( Wei Li ),( Chenyu Ge ),( Dawu Gu ),( Linfeng Liao ),( Zhiyong Gao ),( Xiujin Shi ),( Ting Lu ),( Ya Liu ),( Zhiqiang Liu ) 한국인터넷정보학회 2018 KSII Transactions on Internet and Information Syst Vol.12 No.7

With the enlargement of wireless technology, vehicular ad-hoc networks (VANETs) are rising as a hopeful way to realize smart cities and address a lot of vital transportation problems such as road security, convenience, and efficiency. To achieve data confidentiality, integrity and authentication applying lightweight cryptosystems is widely recognized as a rather efficient approach for the VANETs. The Khudra cipher is such a lightweight cryptosystem with a typical Generalized Feistel Network, and supports 80-bit secret key. Up to now, little research of fault analysis has been devoted to attacking Khudra. On the basis of the single nibble-oriented fault model, we propose a differential fault analysis on Khudra. The attack can recover its 80-bit secret key by introducing only 2 faults. The results in this study will provides vital references for the security evaluations of other lightweight ciphers in the VANETs.

Study on Anti-Rollover of the Counterbalance Forklift Based on Extension Hierarchical Control

        Xia Guang,Li Jiacheng,Tang Xiwen,Zhao Linfeng,Sun Baoqun 한국자동차공학회 2021 International journal of automotive technology Vol.22 No.3

The anti-rollover control actuator of a counterbalance forklift is determined by analysing its structural characteristics and roll-over mechanism. An anti-rollover control strategy for counterbalance forklifts based on extension decision is proposed, and the anti-rollover extension hierarchical controller, including the upper-layer extension and lower-layer execution controls, is designed. The upper-layer extension controller divides the forklift anti-rollover control domain into three types, namely, classical domain, extension domain and non-domain, and determines the weight coefficient of the lower layer execution controller. The lower-layer execution controller receives the weight coefficient determined by the upper-layer extension controller, controls the weight distribution on the yaw rate and lateral acceleration controllers and executes the command to obtain the anti-rollover extension control of the counterbalance forklift. The European standard condition simulation and real vehicle test results show that the anti-rollover control strategy of the counterbalance forklift based on the extension decision can effectively reduce the forklift roll range under high-speed emergency steering conditions, prevent the forklift from rolling over and improve the stability and active safety of the counterbalance forklift.

Theoretical Analysis of Laser-Locked Spectroscopy Employing a Confocal Fabry-Perot Cavity

        Lei Dong,Li Linfeng,suotang Jia,wangbao Yin,weiguang ma,Zhang Lei 한국물리학회 2006 THE JOURNAL OF THE KOREAN PHYSICAL SOCIETY Vol.48 No.I

A theoretical analysis of laser-locked enhanced absorption spectroscopy employing a confocal Fary-Perot cavity (CFPC) is presented. The signal-to-noise ratio and the minimum detectable absorbance, which are limited by either the shot noise or the amplitude noise due to the loose laser lock loop, are also discussed in detail. The results show that the effective absorption path length of a CFPC configuration is the same as that of the conventional nonconfocal Fary-Perot cavity configuration, with the CFPC configuration being more convenient to align without deliberate mode matching. Thus, the CFPC configuration should greatly simplify the complications of conventional laser-locked spectroscopy.
