      • 자동차 주행용 광섬유 자이로스코프 개발

        적당한 성능의 광섬유 자이로스코프는 자동차 주행용의 회전율 측정 센서로 사용할 수 있다. 본 논문에서 구성한 광섬유 자이로스코프 시스템은 개회로 방식의 신호 처리를 하며, 단일 모드 광섬유와 방향성 결합기를 이용하여 시스템을 광섬유 일체식으로 구성하였다. 광원으로는 비편광 광원인 He-Ne 레이저를 사용하였다. 자동차 주행용으로 사용할 수 있도록 간단한 구성과 저가격이 되도록 하였다. 본 논문에서는 modified J₁…J₄ 방법을 응용한 신호 처리 방식을 사용하였다. 간섭계 출력을 고속 푸리에 변환(fast Fourier transform : FFT)하여 4 개의 연속 고조파를 구한 다음, modified J₁…J₄를 적용하여 변조도(modulation index)를 구한다. 이 방법은 광원의 파장변동이나 편광 상태의 변화 등에 상관없이 계측할 수 있다. 여기서 구한 변조도를 이용하여 Bessel 함수 ??를 계산한 결과와, 두 고조파의 비로 간단하게 회전율을 구할 수 있었다. Fiber-optic gyroscope of modest performance can be used as angular rate sensor for vechile navigation on land. A practical design is used an open-loop configuration with an all-fiber optical system together with single-mode fiber and directional coupler. We use the unpolarized light source, He-Ne laser as light source, and design simple construction for low cost. In this paper, we used the modified J₁…J₄ method which apply the signal processing technique. Measurements were made of the amplitudes of four harmonics in the electrical spectrum of the output of an interferometer using fast Fourier transform(FFT), and modified J₁…J₄ was used to determine the amplitude of the modulation index. This method allowed us independents of the wavelength fluctuation of the wavelength fluctuation of source and state of polarization changes in measurement. We can simply get the rotation rate with two harmonics ratio, Bessel function, ?? and the modulation depth.

        This paper describes a tunable data rate pulse generator using the NOLM structure. This can induce the change of pulse rate by the control of PC (Polarization Controller) which located in NOLM. We measured very stable NRZ pulse sequences of three rates (200Mbps, 400Mbps, 800Mbps), and also obtained 100ps pulse width under the same condition.

        Development of the Power Restoration Training Simulator for Jeju Network

        This paper presents an operator training simulator for power system restoration against massive blackout. The system is designed especially focused on the generality and convenient setting up for initial condition of simulation. The former is accomplished by using power flow calculation methodology, and PSS/E data is used to set up the initial state for easy setting. The proposed simulator consists of three major components-a power flow(PF), a data conversion(CONV), and, a GUI module. The PF module calculates power flow, and then checks over-voltages of buses and overloads of lines. The CONV module composes a Y-Bus array and a database at each restoration action. The initial Y-Bus array is composed from PSS/E data. A user friendly GUI module is developed including a graphic editor and a built-in operation manual. The maximum processing time for one step operation is 15 seconds, which is adequate for training purpose.

        건강한 지원자에서 홍삼농축액의 혈행 개선 효과

        Korean red ginseng has broad efficacious effects against hypertension, diabetes, nociception, and cancer, and it counteracts weakness. It has been reported that Korean red ginseng is able to normalize blood pressure, improve cholesterol and lower blood glucose levels. We have recently reported that Korean red ginseng extract (KRGE) significantly prevented rat carotid arterial thrombosis in vivo, and inhibited platelet aggregation ex vivo and in vitro in a dose-dependent manner. The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of KRGE on blood circulation in human by measuring ex vivo platelet aggregation, plasma coagulation and serum lipid profiles in healthy volunteers. Subjects were randomly divided into three groups (placebo-group, KRGE-low dose group, KRGE-high dose group). Administration of KRGE to subjects significantly inhibited ADP-induced platelet aggregations both in KRGE-low dose group from 72.79 ±20.53 to 62.00 ±23.06% (p=0.0009), and in KRGE-high dose group from 75.14 ±21.86 to 64.52 ±24.72% (p=0.0039), respectively. Administration of KRGE to subjects also significantly inhibited collagen-induced platelet aggregations both in KRGE-low dose group from 85.52 ±12.57 to 79.62 ±20.47% (p=0.0916), and in KRGE-high dose group from 80.24 ±18.11 to 70.31 ±25.93% (p=0.0565), respectively. Whereas, KRGE has no significant effects on coagulation system, such as prothrombin time (PT) and activated partial thromboplastin time (APTT), and serum lipid profiles, such as total cholesterol, low density lipoprotein cholesterol, high density lipoprotein cholesterol and triglyceride. KRGE also has no significant effects on hematological and serum biochemical profiles. These results suggest that KRGE has a potential to improve blood circulation through antiplatelet activity in human, and KRGE intake may be beneficial for the individuals with high risks of thrombotic and cardiovascular diseases.

        Evaluation of COVID-19 vaccine effectiveness in different high-risk facility types during a period of Delta variant dominance in the Republic of Korea: a cross-sectional study

        Objectives: We evaluated the effectiveness of coronavirus disease 2019 vaccination in high-risk facilities in the Republic of Korea during the period when the highly transmissible Delta variant was prevalent. Additionally, we aimed to explore any disparities in vaccine effectiveness (VE) across various types of institutions, specifically distinguishing between non-medical and medical establishments. Methods: We examined 8 outbreak clusters covering 243 cases and 895 contacts from 8 high-risk facilities divided into 2 groups: group A (4 non-medical institutions) and group B (4 medical institutions). These clusters were observed from July 27, 2021 to October 16, 2021 for the attack rate (AR) and VE with respect to disease severity. A generalized linear model with a binomial distribution was used to determine the odds ratio (OR) for disease severity and death. Results: AR was notably lower in group B (medical institutions). Furthermore, VE analysis revealed that group A exhibited higher effectivity for disease severity and death than group B. The OR for disease severity was 0.24 (95% confidence interval [CI], 0.03–2.16) for group A and 0.27 (95% CI, 0.12–0.64) for group B, with the OR for death at 0.12 (95% CI, 0.01–1.32) in group A and 0.34 (95% CI, 0.14–0.87) in group B. Conclusion: Although VE may vary across institutions, our findings underscore the importance of implementing vaccinations in high-risk facilities. Customized vaccination programs, tailored response plans, and competent management personnel are essential for effectively addressing and mitigating public health challenges.

      • NAND 플래시 메모리 기반 B+트리를 위한 효율적인 고 장회복 관리기법

        NAND 플래시 메모리는 저전력과 빠른 접근 속도의 특징 때문에 차세대 저장장치로 주목 받고 있다. 특히 플래시 메모리로 만들어진 SSD(solid state disk)는 인터페이스가 기존의 하드디스크와 동일하고 대용량화 되고 있기 때문에 가까운 미래에 다양한 저장시스템의 저장장치로 사용될 것으로 예상된다. 그러나 NAND 플래시메모리 기반 저장장치는 쓰기 전 소거 구조와 같은 독특한 하드웨어 특징을 가지고 있기 때문에 특정 지역에 반복적인 쓰기 요청을 발생하는 B트리를 구축하는 것은 심각한 성능저하를 야기할 것이다. 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해 버퍼를 이용하여 B트리 구축 성능을 개선한 방법들이 제안되었다. 그러나 이러한 기법들은 갑작스러운 전원 차단 시 버퍼에 유지하고 있던 데이터를 모두 유실하기 때문에 고장회복을 위한 추가적인 방법이 필요하다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 버퍼를 이용한 방법 중 IBSF기법을 기반으로 NAND 플래시 메모리 기반 저장장치에서 고성능의B트리 구축 방법뿐만 아니라 전원 차단 시 효율적인 고장회복을 할 수 있는 기법을 제안한다. 본 논문에서 제안하는 기법은 B트리 변경시 변경된 정보를 로그에 저장하여 관리한다. 또한 루트노드가 변경될 때 검사점(checkpoint)을 수행한다. 마지막으로 다양한 실험을 통하여 본 논문의 고장회복 성능을 보여준다.

        항염증 효과 연구를 통한 사향의 수용화 기술 평가

        Musk is a traditional high-grade medical product that has a great anti-inflammatory activity. However, musk is a poorly soluble substance, which is difficult to use in the food and drug field. Therefore, in order to increase the efficacy of musk, research on the water-solubilization of musk is necessary. In this study, we have applied the water-solublization technology to musk and the solubility of musk with water-solubilization technology was compared with the solubility of musk without water-solubilization technology to confirm the water-solubility. Next, we investigated antioxidant efficacy of musk with water-solublization technology and effect of musk with water-solublization technology on anti-inflammatory activity using mouse macrophage RAW 264.7 cells. As a result, musk with water-solublization technology showed excellent radical scavenging ability. the mRNA expressions of IL-1β, IL-6, which cytokines released during inflammatory reactions, were repressed and the activity of mouse macrophages increased by treatment of musk with water-solublization technology. In conclusion, these results suggest that water-solublization technology improved the absorption of musk and musk with water-solublization technology can increase musk’s antioxidant activity and anti-inflammatory activity, which can be used in various fields including the food and drug fields.

        Objectives: The purpose of this manuscript was to propose the policy and perspectives of prevention and management for hypertension and diabetes in Korea. Methods: Authors reviewed the chronic disease prevention and management projects and models were executed in Korea until now, and analyzed and evaluated their performances. Results: In the circumstances of Korea, the following several requisites should be improved ; Specific Korean strategy for development and pursuing of national level policy agenda for chronic disease management must be established. There are a need to establish several means of supplementing the weaknesses of the current chronic disease management policies and programs. Firstly, development and distribution of contents of guidelines on the systematic project execution regime (regarding systematization of local community, subjects and contents of the projects) with guarantee for the quality of chronic disease prevention and management are necessary. Secondly, there is a need for development of information system that can lead the chronic disease management programs currently being implemented. Thirdly, there is urgent need to develop resources such as cultivation of manpower and facilities for provision of education and consultation for the patients and holders of risk factors of chronic disease. Fourthly, there is a need for means of securing management system and financial resources for operation of policies and programs. Conclusions: The results can be able to use as a road map, models, and direction and strategies of policies for chronic disease prevention and management of Korea.
