This study aimed to develop the evaluation method for air bag deployment threshold during frontal crashes using injury severity score (ISS) and a whole-body functional capacity index (WBFCI) using a computational human surrogate model and real-world crash data. National Automotive Sampling System Crashworthiness Data System (NASS-CDS) 2006-2015 were queried for occupants involved in frontal crashes. 449 cases of AIS2+ unique injuries were derived, and the resulting major injury mechanisms were assigned. To derive WBFCI and ISS from the frontal impact analysis results, A finite element mid-size male occupant model (Global Human Body Model Consortium-owned GHBMC Model, v4.5) was divided into 21 body regions and the output was defined so that the probability of injury is known in each body region. Based on the probability of injury derived from the analysis results. The first Monte Carlo sampling was conducted to create virtual passengers with the abbreviated injury score (AIS) severity level for each body region, and the second Monte Carlo sampling was performed so that FCI and ISS could be calculated from virtual passengers with AIS patterns for each body region. The frontal crash simulations were performed in a simplified sled model for four different delta V(ΔV) with or without airbags when the belt was equipped. Then, the validity of this method was examined through comparative verification with real-world crash data.
User Modeling Using User Preference and User Life Pattern Based on Personal Bio Data and SNS Data

The purpose of this study was to collect and analyze personal bio data and social network services (SNS) data, derive user preference and user life pattern, and propose intuitive and precise user modeling. This study not only tried to conduct eye tracking experiments using various smart devices to be the ground of the recommendation system considering the attribute of smart devices, but also derived classification preference by analyzing eye tracking data of collected bio data and SNS data. In addition, this study intended to combine and analyze preference of the common classification of the two types of data, derive final preference by each smart device, and based on user life pattern extracted from final preference and collected bio data (amount of activity, sleep), draw the similarity between users using Pearson correlation coefficient. Through derivation of preference considering the attribute of smart devices, it could be found that users would be influenced by smart devices. With user modeling using user behavior pattern, eye tracking, and user preference, this study tried to contribute to the research on the recommendation system that should precisely reflect user tendency.
Performance Analysis of the Anti-Spoofing Array Antenna with Eigenvector Nulling Algorithm

The public open signals from Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) including Global positioning system (GPS) are used widely by many peoples in the world except for the public regulated restriction signals which are encrypted. Nowadays there are growing concerns about GNSS signal spoofing which can deceive the GNSS receivers by abusing these open services. To counter these spoofing threats, many researches have been studied including array antenna techniques which can detect the direction of arrival by means of Multiple Signal Classification (MUSIC) algorithm. Originally the array antenna techniques were developed to countermeasure the jamming signal in electronic warfare by using the nulling or beamforming algorithm toward a certain direction. In this paper, we study the anti-spoofing techniques using array antenna to overcome the jamming and spoofing issues simultaneously. First, we will present the theoretical analysis results of spoofing signal response of Minimum Variance Distortionless Response (MVDR) algorithm in array antenna. Then the eigenvector algorithm of covariance matrix is suggested and verified to work with the existing anti-jamming method. The modeling and simulation are used to verify the effectiveness of the anti-spoofing algorithm. Also, the field test results show that the array antenna system with the proposed algorithms can perform the anti-spoofing function. This anti-spoofing method using array antenna is very effective in the view point of solving both the jamming and spoofing problems using the same array antenna hardware.

Background: Topical applications of a silicone gel have been shown to be effective in promoting accelerated epithelialization, reducing the inflammatory response. Objectives: This study was performed to compare the effectiveness of a topical film-forming silicone gel and a moisturizing cream in reducing radiation dermatitis in patients receiving radiotherapy for breast cancer. Methods: This was a single-centre, unblinded, randomized controlled parallel study that included patients with breast cancer treated with adjuvant breast radiotherapy protocol of 50Gy. A total of 56 patients with breast cancer were randomized to use topical silicone gel or moisturizing cream (1:1). The severity of radiation dermatitis was graded using physiological skin parameters, including the erythema index, melanin index, and transepidermal water loss (TEWL), clinician-assessed visual rating scales and patient-reported symptoms. Results: Two-way repeated-measures ANOVA revealed different patterns of changes in the erythema index (F=3.609, p=0.008) and melanin index (F=3.475, p=0.015). The post hoc analysis demonstrated a significantly lower erythema index and melanin index in the patients allocated to the silicone gel group. There were no significant differences between two groups in the TEWL measurements. Conclusion: This study demonstrated the superiority of a topical film-forming silicone gel compared to moisturizer in reducing severity of radiation dermatitis during breast radiotherapy.
Performance Analysis of Pseudorange Error in STAP Beamforming Algorithm for Array Antenna

The most effective method to overcome GPS jamming problem is to use an adaptive array antenna which has the capability of beamforming or nulling to a certain direction. In this paper, Space Time Adaptive Processing (STAP) beamforming algorithm of four elements array antenna will be designed and the anti-jamming performance will be analyzed. According to the analysis, the signal to noise ratio (SNR) and anti-jamming performance can be enhanced by beamforming algorithm. Also, the time tap effect of STAP algorithm will be analyzed theoretically and verified with array antenna modeling and simulation. Specially, the cautious selection of reference time tap in STAP can prevent the degradation of position accuracy performance.

발전용 가스터빈 초기 구동용 시동시스템의 제동특성 평가를 위해 시동모터 단독 무부하 시험과 엔진 장착 부하시험을 수행하였다. 시동모터의 제동저항 용량 차이에 따른 제동 성능의 실험적 평가를 통해 가스터빈 시동과정 중 비상정지 상황에서 안정적인 제동특성을 확보하기 위한 정량적 데이터를 확보하였다. 본 연구를 통해 가스터빈의 시동 신뢰성과 안정성을 제고하기 위한 최적의 시동모터 제동저항 선정이 가능하게 되었다. Engine test as well as unload test of starting motor itself was performed to evaluate the braking characteristics of starting system used for initial spin-up of gas turbine for power generation. Through the experimental evaluation of the braking performance with the capacity of braking resistor of the starting motor, we have achieved quantitative data to secure robust braking characteristics in emergency during the starting period of the gas turbine. It is possible to establish a capacity selection criterion of braking resistor to ensure the starting reliability of the gas turbine.
