Although the U.S. and EU side impact regulations address the same safety problem. they differ in test procedures. barriers, dummies, and injury criteria. These differences lead to different vehicle designs, thus posing financial burdens in terms of dual development, testing, manufacturing and distribution of vehicles in various markets. With the need for international harmonization of side impact requirements, EuroNCAP recently announced a modified testing protocol using the EuroSID-2 which is modified model from EuroSID-1. And some characteristic behavior of dummy is changed mostly in rib deflection. Hence, this paper reviews the difference or EuroSID-1 and EuroSID-2. And, with the application of EuroSID-2 through full vehicle side impact analysis. we analyze difference of injury values and present the direction of further vehicle developments in ED market.

Approximate optimization has become popular in engineering field such as MDO and Crash analysis<br/> which is time consuming. To accomplish efficient approximate optimization, accuracy of approximate model<br/> is very important. As surrogate model, Kriging have been widely used approximating highly nonlinear<br/> system . Because Kriging employs interpolation method, it is adequate for deterministic computer simulation.<br/> Because there are no random errors and measurement errors in deterministic computer simulation, instead of<br/> classical DOE ,space filling experiment design which fills uniformly design space should be applied. In this<br/> work, various space filling designs such as maximin distance design, maximum entropy design are reviewed.<br/> And new design improving maximum entropy design is suggested and compared.
RCAR Override/underride 테스트의 해석적 접근

To improve damageability and repairability of passenger car has been an important RCAR topic. In order to prevent unnecessary damage to the structure of passenger cars and to assess how well a vehicle's bumper system protects the vehicle from damage in low speed crash, RCAR override/underride bumper test becomes more important with 15kph and 40% overlap danner. So car manufacturers need to develop bumper system which performs well in this RCAR bumper test. For this, the way to get more accurate simulation result of RCAR override/underride bumper test is proposed in this paper. The results showed that 1) FE model having axle should be used for this test 2) application of initial stress to connection part makes more accurate simulation result.
