We conducted an inoculation test using nine open-pollinated families of pine trees to evaluate their susceptibility and mortality in different densities of pine wood nematode. Three-year-old nine open-pollinated pine families were inoculated with Bursaphelenchus xylophilus at levels of 3,000, 5,000, and 7,000 nematodes/seedling in greenhouse. There were no distinct patterns in latent period among three densities of B. xylophilus in all families. Most families showed the first disease symptoms of needle discoloration within 12-15 days after inoculation. However, open-pollinated progenies of Pinus densiflora showed the longest latent period because none of one-year-old needles were wilted until 14 days after inoculation with 5,000 and 7,000 nematodes. One-year-old needles were wilted earlier than current needles in all tested families with all densities of B. xylophilus. Current needles were not wilted until 14 days after inoculation in all seedlings. The mortality of all seedlings rapidly increased from 35 days to 49 days after inoculation, and all died within 80 days except two seedlings. A 3,000 nematodes/100 ${\mu}L$ with sterilized distilled water are enough to screen 3-year-old pine seedlings for resistance to B. xylophilus.

Macrocyclic ligands have been studies as cation carriers in a bulk liquid membrane system. $Cu^{2+}$ has been transported using nitrogen substituted macrocycles as carriers and several transition metal ions($M^{n+}\;=\;Mn^{2+},\;Co^{2+},\;Ni^{2+},\;Cd^{2+},\;Pb^{2+}\;and\;Ag^{+}$) have been transported using $DBN_3O_2,\;DBN_2O_2,\;Me_6N_414C4$ and DA18C6 as carriers in a bulk liquid membrane system. Competitive $Cu^{2+}-M2^+$ transport studies have also been carried out for the same system. In single cation transport experiments, the best macrocyclic ligand for transport is a ligand that gives a moderately stable rather than very stable complex in the extraction. However, when both cations are present in the source phase, the cation which forms the most stable complex with carrier is favored in transport over other cations. Generally, the nitrogen substiituted macrocycles transport $Cu^{2+}$ selectively over $Mn^+$. Ligand structure, equilibrium constant (or stability constant) for complex formation, source phase pH and carrier concentration are also important parameters in transport experiments.

釜山市 近郊(慶南金海地方)의 重要 菜蔬類 生産性에 關한 硏究

本 硏究는 釜山 및 慶南地方에서 栽培하고 있는 오이 및 토마토 各各 品種의 生産力을 調査하고자 圃場試驗을 實施한 結果를 要約하면 다음과 같다. 1. 오 이 ① 早期 收量은 만능청장오이(홍농종묘사산)가 많았으며 청장마디오이(高農宗廟社)이 가장 적었고 後期收量 및 全體收量은 성호원신 1號(대성종묘사산)가 가장 많았다. ② 平均 1果當 果長은 靑龍4葉이 가장 길었고 果重은 중원 近成 4葉(중원종묘사산)가 가장 무거웠다. ③ 果數에 있어서 各 品種 間의 有意差가 인정되었다. ④ 果重은 성호원신 1호오이(대성종묘사산)가 가장 크며 各 品種 間의 有意差가 인정되었다. 2. 토마토 ① 良好한 果實의 果數 및 果重에 있어서는 만수조생(중앙종묘사산)이 가장 많았고 대형복수(生産會社無)가 가장 적었다. ② 양과율은 내병홍보석(홍농종묘사산)이 83%로서 제일 높고 대형복수 (生産會社無)는71%로서 가장 낮았다. ③ 良果 果長은 대형복수(중앙종묘사산)가 가장 크며 과경은 만수대형(중앙종묘사산)이 크며 瑞光(사까다산)은 작았다. ④ 1株當 果數 果重은 만수조생(중앙종묘사산)이 生産量이 가장 많았으며 대형복수(生産會社無)가 제일 적었다. The Studies on the production ability among species of tomato and Cucumber which cultured in Busan city and Kyung Nam Province was carried out, the results obtained were as follows: Ⅰ) Cucumber 1. MANNUMG CHENG JANG had the most harvest among the others in the early term, but Jung Won Kun Sung Sa Youb had less harvest among the others in the latter term and total harvest. 2. The length of the Cucumber was longest in the CHUN YONG SA YOUB, and weight of the Cucumber was the harvest in the JUNG WON KIN SUNG SA YOUB. 3. The number of the Cucumber was the among each species were significant difference. 4. The size of the Cucumber fluid was largest in the SUNG HO WON SIN IL HO the among each species were significant difference. Ⅱ) Tomato 1. The number and the weight of the tomato fluid was the most in the MAN SU JO SENG and the least in the DE HOUNG BOK SU. 2. The guality of the fluid was 86% in the NE BYOUNG HONG BO SUK (highest) and 71% in the DE HOUNG BOK SU (lowest.). 3. The sidth stalk length of the tomato fluid was the longest on the DE HOUNG BOK SU and the size of the stalk length was longest in the MAN SU DE HOUNG and shortest in the SE KOANG. 4. MAN SU JO SENG was the best productions in the number and the weight per buch and DE HOUNG BOK So was the wrost production.
