      • Using Automated Container Type Culture System Hericium erinaceum Mushroom Production Technology

        Woo-Sik Jo1,Sung-Hak Lee,Min-Gu Kang,Who-Won Park 한국버섯학회 2016 버섯 Vol.20 No.2

Time, place, and the high-tech industry to overcome barriers to the fusion of the so-called "smart agriculture" is changing the landscape of agriculture. Precision Agriculture's core temperature, humidity, location information, and summary information in real time, all significant ICT controlling technique. The system is a four-season container production for the mushroom cultivation temperature, humidity, illumination, self-regulation, such as carbon dioxide, the optimal environment for mushroom cultivation was implemented. Hericium erinaceum (also called Lion's Mane Mushroom, Bearded Tooth Mushroom, or Bearded Tooth Fungus) is an edible mushroom and medicinal mushroom in the tooth fungus group. Native to North America, Europe and Asia it can be identified by its tendency to grow all the spines out from one group (rather than branches), long spines (greater than 1 cm length) and its appearance on hardwoods. About 40 days of incubation 1.5kg oak sawdust was used as the test medium bag. The humidity was maintained more than 85~95% and temperature was 18~20°C, and CO2 density was 500~1,000ppm. The days for primordium formation showed us 6~12 days. The amount of fruitbody production was 110~260g per bag. This technique to establish new community support program in conjunction with the international movement, domestic sales and exports are also planned.

      • The United Nation’s Response Strategy for North KOREA’s DENUCLEARIZATION

Jo Sung gu J-INSTITUTE 2018 International Journal of Military Affairs Vol.3 No.2

Since the 1st nuclear test of North Korea in October 2006, the UN Security Council has made economic sanc-tions against North Korea for the past 20 years beginning with the resolution number 1718, but North Korea has continued to test nuclear weapons and ballistic missiles and has retained inter continental ballistic missiles ICBM and submarine launched ballistic missiles SLBM. Amidst such international crisis, on June 12, 2018, the US President Donald Trump and Kim Jong Un of North Korea agreed on the complete denuclearization of North Korea through a summit held in Singapore, but ever since, North Korea has not followed up on this agreement. However, the United States began a trade war with China, an economic sponsor of North Korea, thereby caus-ing serious damages against companies, and the US is deliberating on the use of military options in North Korea. In this study, I have investigated the strategic plan of South Korea for the active military officers of the Re-public of Korea, which is a party to the Korean War and confronted with North Korea geopolitically in the crisis caused by North Korea’s possession of nuclear weapons, and analyzed the results of the research to categorize North Korea for a denuclearization plan from the political and military perspectives. As a result of the study, first, the political direction is to expand international cooperation in response to eco-nomic sanctions against North Korea and military provocations. Second, by expanding economic sanctions against North Korea, North Korea should not be allowed to continue military exercises including nuclear tests. Third, expansion of psychological warfare program so that North Korean residents can learn about the human rights violations of the dictatorship regime. Next, military options include, first, with the consent and management of the United Nations, South Korea can possess nuclear weapons and take strategic advantage. Second, establish and expand the integrated missile de-fense system of UN and South Korean forces in Northeast Asia. Lastly, at the conclusion of this study, I presented a specific model of the denuclearization phase for North Korea.

      • Korea’s Security and Public Order Policy: Why Does KOREA Need a DETECTIVE SYSTEM?

        Jo Sung gu,Cho Sung je J-INSTITUTE 2017 Public Value Vol.2 No.2

Korea’s rapid economic growth has further diversified its security environment, so Korea has been introducing a private security system to work with police since 1970, which is a crime prevention sys-tem in developed countries. However, in the case of the detective, all of the OECD member countries except Korea are active to introduce it as a major area of private security. Even though the detective system in Korea has not yet been legislated, the private investigators from developed countries have entered into Korea to conduct the detective works since Korea became an OECD member in 1996. Therefore, it is the right time for Korea to prepare for introducing a private detective system. The Korean detective system, however, began in the Japanese colonial period (1910-1945), and was regu-lated as Chosun governor general ordinance No. 82. in 1911, and then after liberation, the detective business was conducted again, but on September 23, 1961, the “Private Agency Regulation Act” was enacted and regulated. In Korea, there are a lot of companies that are engaged in real detective business by using the name of a consulting company or the cases where a private security company carries out a detective business, but they are crowded for doing this business with no legal basis. Therefore, this study aims to investigate and discuss the research questions on the necessity of the introduction of Korean detective business law through an in-depth interview with the expert group.

A Study on Introduction to Private Investigation System and Direction Through Predicting Demand

Sung Gu Jo,Dong Jae Choi,Jeong hwan Park,Byeong Tae Kim 위기관리 이론과 실천 2014 Crisisonomy Vol.10 No.12

In Korea, private investigation business had been called as Heungsineop but it changed to messenger center from 1970s. Foreign private investigation agencies have started to run business as crisis management agency, consulting agency after Korea joined OECD in 1996. foreign private investigation agencies are still growing illegally by using similar names to private investigation business and today, these are covered doing illegal acting like shadowing, phone-tapping, even contract through media sources. Today, according to statistical data by the National Police Agency late 2012, messenger agencies are around 1574 in domestic and 939 of those are in the metropolitan area. Illegal types are uncovered as investigating personal life 27(68%), personal information offering 7(18%), location tracing 5(12%), illegal claim collection 1(2%) plus, clients for these company are uncovered as housewife 196(34%), company employee 152(27%), independent businessman 78(14%), profession 35(6%). Correctly present situation and dispersion of domestic private investigation businesses like security company because private investigation system has not been enacted in domestic, until now. Thus, this study try to analyze demand of private investigation for a proposal in legislation process which is pending in 19th assembly like Yun Jae-Ok's 「All Amendments Private Security Act」 and Song Young-Geun's 「Private Invstigation Act」 so we expect to that private investigation system is introduced to Korea as soon as possible.

      • PROTECTION SECURITY Organizations of the ROK : A Comparative Study of Presi-dential Security Service and National Po-lice Agency

        Jo Sung-gu,Jung Yook-sang J-INSTITUTE 2017 International Journal of Military Affairs Vol.2 No.1

Protection security organizations in the Republic of Korea were conceived in 1949 to provide protection security services to the first President, Rhee Syngman. It was in 1963 that the Presidential Security Service was created at the inauguration of the Park Chunghee administration, thereby launching hybrid security in conjunction with the National Police Agency. Ever since, the Presidential Security Service and the National Police Agency have taken numerous actions against threats of assassination from North Korea’s special forces and terrorism in the aftermath of the Korean War, and have taken counter-terrorist actions by North Korean Special Forces during the Korean War. Prominent examples include a surprise infiltration incident of 1968, the attempted assassination of President Park Chunghee in Seoul in 1974, and the attempted assassination of President Chun Doohwan in Myanmar in 1983. Presently, the hybrid security service has garnered commendations from abroad for successfully aiding largescaled events such as Asia-Europe Meeting, Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation, G20 Summit, and Nuclear Security Summit to consummate. Unfortunately, however, there is not a great number of studies conducted on the hybrid security service. This study has undertaken a comparative analysis of the Presidential Security Service’s and the National Police Agency’s training and legal grounds from the theoretical perspective. Discussions were also made on the efficient directions for these two organizations. Consequently, the study discovered the organizations’ common goals, such as enhancing personal protection, maintenance of authority, maintenance of order, and citizen friendliness. Therefore, this study sought after ways to create an integrated form of the protection security organization, a break away from the two separate entities we currently have in Korea.

      • In Times of Crisis: Exploring the Utilization of JUDO Techniques by the KOREAN Youth

Jo Sung gu,Kim Byeong han J-INSTITUTE 2017 International Journal of Martial Arts Vol.2 No.2

Historically speaking, Judo in Korea has been a largely popular sport as gold medals were won at all Olympic games. Conferring an honorary doctorate degree in Judo to the then Russian prime minister Vladimir Vladimiro-vich Putin in 2010, Korea is such a powerful Judo nation, followed by awarding an honorary 7th dan in Judo from the Korea Judo Association. In Korea, training Judo helps people to achieve a positive mental and physical attitude while building respect for others and forming an awareness of order in society. In addition, they learn about how to defend themselves and keep their body safe while pursuing physical development. Furthermore, through the offensive and defensive training, people grow their athletic capabilities such as agility, flexibility, coordination, responsiveness, and endurance, while achieving spiritual development such as cooperation, calmness, and discipline. In addition, through practice games, they could develop such a positive attitude as for judgment and compliance. In recent years, however, crimes have turned increasingly violent, strategic, and brutal compared to the past, and crimes involving physical harms are operating as more intelligent, thereby making it very difficult to appre-hend criminals. It is also a most serious threat to security, which makes the fear of crime far much more realisti-cally perceived than other crimes. Therefore, the purpose of Judo training to defend themselves by the Korean youth has become prominent, and as a result of exploring which Judo techniques may be utilized in times of crisis such as crimes in this research, the “connection techniques” and “reciprocal techniques” would be most useful.

The effects of vitamin A supplementation during late-stage pregnancy on longissimus dorsi muscle tissue development, birth traits, and growth performance in postnatal Korean native calves

Jo, Yong Ho,Peng, Dong Qiao,Kim, Won Seob,Kim, Seong Jin,Kim, Na Yeon,Kim, Sung Hak,Nejad, Jalil Ghassemi,Lee, Jae Sung,Lee, Hong Gu Asian Australasian Association of Animal Productio 2020 Animal Bioscience Vol.33 No.5

Objective: This study investigated the effects of vitamin A (VA) supplementation during late-stage pregnancy on longissimus dorsi muscle tissue development, birth traits, and growth performance of postnatal Korean native calves. Methods: In the preliminary experiment, twenty-six pregnant cattle (initial body weight [BW] = 319 kg (standard deviation [SD] = 30.1; 1st parity) were randomly assigned to the control and treatment groups. The treatment group received VA supplementation at 24,000 IU/d from gestational day 225 until delivery. In the main experiment, twelve pregnant cattle (initial BW = 317 kg [SD = 31.3]; 1st parity) were treated with VA supplementation at 24,000 IU/d (gestational days 150 to 225) and at 78,000 IU/d (gestational day 225 until delivery). Serum VA levels were analyzed in pregnant cattle, and the growth performance, gene expression, and serum VA levels were analyzed in the offspring. Results: Serum VA levels in pregnant cattle decreased the late gestation in both experiments (p<0.001). In the main experiment, pregnant cattle at parturition and offspring at birth in the treatment group had higher serum VA levels than those in the control group (p<0.05). In the treatment groups, an increased birth weight was observed in the main experimental group (p = 0.022), and a tendency (p = 0.088) toward an increased birth weight was observed in the preliminary experimental group. However, no differences were observed in the feed intake, average daily gain, gain-to-feed ratio, or BW of 31-day-old calves. Gene expression was analyzed in longissimus dorsi muscles of 31-day-old calves. VA supplementation in pregnant cattle stimulated postnatal muscle development in offspring by elevating myogenic factor 5 (MYF5), MYF6, and myoblast determination levels (p<0.05). Moreover, preadipocyte-related marker genes such as extracellular signal-regulated kinase 2 and krüppel-like factor 2 were higher in the treatment group than in the control group (p<0.05). Conclusion: VA supplementation (78,000 IU/d) in late-stage pregnant cattle maintained serum VA levels. In addition, 78,000 IU/d VA supplementation increased the birth weight and expression of genes related to muscle and preadipocyte development in offspring. Overall, 78,000 IU/d VA supplementation in pregnant cattle is beneficial to newborn calves.
