        Development status and prospect of jewelry industry in China

        Chinese economy is developing rapidly in this 21st century. Especially upon the registration of WTO in 2001, Chinese economy has been marketized and globalized and the scale of its economy reached 12.3% of world economy in 2013. After the economic crisis, world economy showed decline but it didn’t affect Chinese market. Consumption of luxurious goods in Chinese emerging market showed dramatic increased and attracted attentions from domestic and international companies. Upon the establishment of relations with China, China has been a primary export market for Korea and Korean jewelry companies have been actively entering into Chinese market. Therefore, the objective of this study is to minimize the failure by deeply understanding the status of Chinese jewelry industry and being flexible in responding to rapidly changing Chinese market. The prospect of Chinese jewelry industry will be projected through analyzing the status of jewelry industry and interest level of jewelry industry will be addressed by checking the agendas of jewelry exhibitions or conventions. Overall trend of Chinese consumers will be anticipated through analyzing brand preference, brand product line and positioning map. Furthermore, development tendency of Chinese jewelry industry can be anticipated through analyzing consumption potential and consumption competency of jewelry. The results of this study are as follow. Firstly, China jewelry industry will be expanded from big city to small city, urban area to rural and coast area to inland area. Second, China jewelry market has been developed into a diversified market, however, demand for gold products is still account for a large proportion . Third, with having fast economic growth and large population as a background, jewelry consumption in China is growing rapidly into a superpower. Its potential spending power from current female population will continuously form a consumer market for the next 10 years. Importance of this study can be summarized as following.. Accurate calculation was done on Chinese jewelry market which is a subject of many companies entering into China. accurate statistic research on Chinese jewelry market and introduction of Chinese jewelry industry for those companies which are interested in entering Chinese market. This study can be fundamental information for referring upon the consideration of entering Chinese market and systematic introduction of market status of China was made. This research will serve as a foundation of product development for local companies considering entering into Chinese jewelry market as it performed analysis and segmentation on current brand status in China.

        포스트 코로나시대 中國文化產業의 現狀분석 및 융합발전 展望

        코로나19로 인해 인류는 정치·경제·사회·문화 등 영역에 대변화를 맞이하게 된 가운데 특히 중국의 3개월에 달하는 전국적인 도시 봉쇄는 물리적 접촉이 최소화되면서 재택근무·화상회의· 온라인 수업 등이 현실화되고 제3차 산업은 새로운 시대배경아래 부득이하게 변화를 가져올 수밖에 없는 심각한 상황에 직면하게 되었다. 본 연구는 코로나19 위기 이래 중국 문화산업의 현황분석을 통해 앞으로의 발전 전망에 대한 경로선택 및 가능성을 검토하기 위함을 목적으로 연구되었다. 포스트 코로나시대 중국 문화산업의 발전현황과 앞으로의 발전 방향으로 융합의 필요성에 대해 분석하였고 발전 가능 전략으로 "온라인 플러스"개념을 응용, 알리바바의 성공사례 분석으로 온라인 산업의 역량과 그 잠재력을 확인하였다. 문화산업의 지속적인 발전은 대중이 문화상품에 대한 소비를 바탕으로, 대중의 문화 소비를 확대하는 방식은 문화산업의 발전을 실현하는 주요임무라고 할 수 있다. 인터넷 기술의 발전과 보급은 문화와 문화산업의 전파에 결정적인 역할을 하고 있는바 문화산업 및 상품의 내용과 형식, 대중의 문화 소비습관 및 방식에 모두 영향을 끼친다. 결론적으로 온라인기술이 문화산업에 여러 영향을 끼칠 수 있는 것은 (1) 전통 소비방식이 지역적 제한을 벗어나게 되고; (2) 여러 소비단체의 수요를 모두 만족시킬 수 있으며; (3 )편리한 결제방식을 제공하는 등 우세에서 실현되는 것이다. 포스트 코로나시대 온라인+문화산업의 발전추세를 볼 때 산업의 크로스오버융합만이 산업경쟁력을 제고할 수 있고, 기술과 전통문화의 융합은 경제발전 중에 필연적으로 나아가게 될 방향이다. Due to the Coronavirus disease (COVID-19), mankind has faced huge changes in many areas such as politics, economy, society, and culture. Especially, due to the blockade of the city for three months in China, the tertiary industries faced the biggest crisis. As the physical contacts were minimized, things like working at home, video conferencing, and online classes were realized. The tertiary industries faced a critical condition accompanied by unavoidable changes in the new background of times. The objective of this study was to review the possibility and selection of pathways concerning the development prospect in the future by analyzing the current state of the Chinese cultural industry in the COVID-19 crisis. This study analyzed the current developmental state of the Chinese cultural industry and the necessity of convergence as a future developmental direction in the post-Corona era. It also verified the competencies and potential of the online industry by applying the concept of “online-plus” as a strategy of development by analyzing a successful case of Alibaba. The public expansion of cultural consumption based on the public consumption of cultural products could be the main duty to realize the development of the cultural industry. The development and diffusion of internet technology play crucial roles in the diffusion of culture and cultural industry because they influence the cultural industry, contents and forms of products, and the public habit and method of cultural consumption. As a result, online technology could have a number of effects on the cultural industry. (1) It gets out of the regional limitation of traditional consumption. (2) The demands of many consumer groups could be met. (3) A convenient payment method could be provided. Considering the development trend of online + cultural industry in the post-Corona era, the crossover convergence of industries is the only method to improve the industrial competitiveness, and traditional culture is the future direction which is essential for economic development.

        L-carnitine treatment attenuates renal tubulointerstitial fibrosis induced by unilateral ureteral obstruction

        Background/Aims: Accumulating evidence indicates that L-carnitine (LC) protects against multiorgan damage through its antioxidant properties and preservation of the mitochondria. Little information is available about the effects of LC on renal fibrosis. This study examined whether LC treatment would provide renoprotection in a rat model of unilateral ureteral obstruction (UUO) and in vitro. Methods: Sprague-Dawley rats that underwent UUO were treated daily with LC for 7 or 14 days. The influence of LC on renal injury caused by UUO was evaluated by histopathology, and analysis of gene expression, oxidative stress, mitochondrial function, programmed cell death, and phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase (PI3K)/ AKT/forkhead box protein O 1a (FoxO1a) signaling. In addition, H<sub>2</sub>O<sub>2</sub>-exposed human kidney cells (HK-2) were treated with LC. Results: LC treatment inhibited expression of proinflammatory and profibrotic cytokines, and was followed by a significant attenuation of tubulointerstitial inflammation and fibrosis. The increased oxidative stress caused by UUO was associated with mitochondrial dysfunction and excessive apoptosis and autophagy via PI3K/AKT/FoxO1a-dependent signaling, and this was abrogated by administration of LC. In H<sub>2</sub>O<sub>2</sub>-exposed HK-2 cells, LC decreased intracellular production of reactive oxygen species, and suppressed expression of profibrotic cytokines and reduced the number of apoptotic cells. Conclusions: LC protects against the progression of tubulointerstitial fibrosis in an obstructed kidney.

      • Expression of Novel Genes Related to Germ Cell in Chicken

        생식 세포는 한 세대의 유전 정보를 다음세대에 전달할 수 있는 유일한 세포로서 다양한 특성을 가지고 있다. 기능 유전체 연구를 통해서 새로운 유전자의 기능을 규명함으로써 그 유전자의 생물학적 의미와 상호 작용을 설명할 수 있다. 본 실험의 목적은 생식세포에서 특이적으로 발현하는 유전자를 발굴하여 그 유전자가 생식세포의 발달과 분화에 중요한 역할을 수행하는 것을 증명하는 것이다. 이에 본 실험에서는 real-time quantitative RT-PCR 기법을 이용하여 정소에서 특이적으로 발현하는 5개(AGE1, AGE2, AGE3, AGE4, AGE5)를 선발하였고, in situ hybridization 실험을 통하여 정소 조직 내에서의 발현 양상을 확인하였다. AGE1, AGE2 는 round spermatid에서 특이적으로 발현하고, AGE3, AGE4, AGE5는 spermatocyte에서 특이적으로 발현하는 것을 확인하였다. 본 실험을 통해 발굴한 유전자들은 닭의 생식선 발달에 중요한 기능을 할 것으로 예상되며, 앞으로 닭의 유전육종분야에 큰 도움을 줄 수 있을 것이다.

        Impact of the Silicon-nitride Passivation Film Thickness on the Characteristics of InAlAs/InGaAs InP-based HEMTs

        In this research, the DC and RF characteristics for our own InAlAs/InGaAs InP-based highelectron-mobility transistors (HEMTs) with 0-nm, 50-nm, and 200-nm silicon-nitride (Si3N4) passivationfilms have been investigated comprehensively and systematically. With increasing Si3N4passivation film thickness, the device exhibits an apparent improvement in the output conductanceand a distinct drift of the pinch-off voltage toward a positive value. Especially, the device passivatedby using a 50-nm Si3N4 film demonstrates the highest extrinsic transconductance and channelcurrent. The appeared changes of the DC properties can be interpreted as due to the passivationinducedpositively-charged surface state increasing the sheet carrier density with the carrier mobilityand parasitic resistance of device being deteriorated by long-time high-stress-intensity ion bombardment. Additionally, the degradations of the current-gain cutoff frequency (fT ) and maximumoscillation frequency (fmax) can be attributed to the drastically-increased parasitic capacitance andresistance induced by the passivation process. This work will be of great importance in fabricatingInP HEMTs with high performances.

        Cadmium exposure affects on the expression of metallothionein 2 gene in grass carp (Ctenopharyngodon idellus)

        The metallothionein 2 (mt2) genomic gene with 667 bp was cloned from the grass carp (Ctenopharyngodon idellus). The structure of mt2 gene was similar with the reported vertebrae mt gene, containing three exons interrupted by two introns. Only one MRE mortify was found in the 50 flanking region at proximal cluster which was quite different from the previous reports. The number of deduced amino acid was 60, characterized by cysteine-rich. The basal levels and the transcriptional responses of mt2 gene in different organs to cadmium (Cd) were measured using the quantitative real-time PCR (qRT-PCR). In the kidney, the constructive level of the mt2 mRNA was the highest, while the lowest expression level was detected in the skin. The induced impacts of Cd on mt2 mRNA expression were various from tissues. In the liver, gill and skin, the gene was quickly induced at 6 h. After a transient suppression, the expression levels of mt2 mRNA were increased in the intestine and spleen at 12 h, and mt2 mRNA expressed upwards in the bone at 24 h. In the kidney and bone, the expressions elevated only after 48 h Cd induction. The inducibility of mt2 gene to Cd demonstrated that it played a significant role during the metal toxicant detoxification in grass carp and the mt2 gene in the liver was most sensitive to Cd induction.

      • Five miRNAs as Novel Diagnostic Biomarker Candidates for Primary Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma

        MicroRNAs (miRNAs) play an essential role in the development and progression of nasopharyngeal carcinomas (NPC). Despite advances in the field of cancer molecular biology and biomarker discovery, the development of clinically validated biomarkers for primary NPC has remained elusive. In this study, we investigated the expression and clinical significance of miRNAs as novel primary NPC diagnostic biomarkers. We used an array containing 2, 500 miRNAs to identify 22 significant miRNAs, and these candidate miRNAs were validated using 67 fresh NPC and 25 normal control tissues via quantitative real-time PCR (qRT-PCR). Expression and correlation analyses were performed with various statistical approaches, in addition to logistic regression and receiver operating characteristic curve analyses to evaluate diagnostic efficacy. qRT-PCR revealed five differentially expressed miRNAs (miR-93-5p, miR-135b-5p, miR-205-5p and miR-183-5p) in NPC tissue samples relative to control samples (p<0.05), with miR-135b-5p and miR-205-5p being of significant diagnostic value (p<0.01). Moreover, comparison of NPC patient clinicopathologic data revealed a negative correlation between miR-93-5p and miR-183-5p expression levels and lymph node status (p<0.05). These findings display an altered expression of many miRNAs in NPC tissues, thus providing information pertinent to pathophysiological and diagnostic research. Ultimately, miR-135b-5p and miR-205-5p may be implicated as novel NPC candidate biomarkers, while miR-93-5p, miR-650 and miR-183-5p may find application as relevant clinical pathology and diagnostic candidate biomarkers.
