The purpose of the research is to examine closely whether dance sport programs can influence on developing female students at a middle school girls will have great effects on their understanding of, attitudes to, and interest in the physical education class. In terms of a sampling method for the survey, sixty students at the second grade of N girls' middle school were divided into two big groups: an experimental group of thirty and a controlled group of the other thirty. For two weeks dance sport was applied to the experimental group. SPSS PC+10.0 program was used for carrying out the analysis of research data resulted from the experiment. The controlled group, however, was not provided with the program. Additionally, preliminary investigation was done to confirm whether the two groups are of the same quality group, or not. The experimental group in which dance sports applied to showed a difference as far as understanding of, attitudes to, and interest in the physical education class was concerned. That happening was t verified and X^(2)(chi-square) and a statistical level which drew our attention was P<0.05. Research and procedure application of dance sports influence on female students' understanding of, attitudes to, and interest in the physical education class based on analysis results the following conclusion was drawn. 1. The experimental group who participated in a dance sport program has had more understanding of physical education class significantly than the controlled group. 2. The experimental group who participated in a dance sport program has had better attitudes to physical education class than the controlled group. 3. The experimental group who participated in a dance sport program has showed more interest in physical education class than the controlled group.
Developing high-capacity hydrogen storage materials via quantum simulations
Jhi, Seung-Hoon,Ihm, Jisoon Cambridge University Press (Materials Research Soc 2011 MRS bulletin Vol.36 No.3
<▼1>Abstract
</▼1><▼2>
Hydrogen is considered by some to be a promising non-CO2-emitting energy carrier for the future. However, to realize a hydrogen economy, there are several technological barriers to overcome. Currently, safe and efficient storage of hydrogen is a bottleneck in the practical usage of hydrogen for fuels. In this article, we present a review on the first-principles computational approach in designing hydrogen storage materials with an emphasis on molecular hydrogen storage in nanostructured materials. Given the limitation of pristine nanostructures for room-temperature hydrogen storage, the strategy of decorating the backbone structure of the nanostructure with transition metal atoms in order to enhance the hydrogen adsorption energy is addressed, and the interplay between the Coulomb interactions and the so-called Kubas interaction (nondissociative weak chemisorption via electron donation and back-donation channels) has been studied. The influence of electron spin on the hydrogen binding energy, problems of metal clustering and oxidation, and the structural instability that may arise during hydrogen sorption are also discussed. We address the limitations and challenges in the development of high-capacity hydrogen storage materials and provide perspectives for how computational materials design can help cope with those problems.
</▼2>
Prior uterine myoma and risk of ovarian cancer: a population-based case-control study
Jenn-Jhy Tseng,Chun-Che Huang,Hsiu-Yin Chiang,Yi-Huei Chen,Ching-Heng Lin 대한부인종양학회 2019 Journal of Gynecologic Oncology Vol.30 No.5
Objective Uterine myoma which results in the magnitude of ovarian cancer remains uncertain. This study aimed to assess the association between women with previous uterine myoma and the risk of ovarian cancer. Methods This population-based case-control study was conducted using the Taiwan National Health Insurance Research Database between 2006 and 2010. We identified 4,088 adult women with newly diagnosed ovarian cancer with 16,348 women without ovarian cancer matched for age, urbanization level, income and initial diagnosis date. Logistic regression analyses were used to evaluate the variables associated with ovarian cancer. In addition, the effect of surgical interventions on the risk of ovarian cancer was also evaluated. Results Women with previous uterine myoma were more likely than those who did not to have ovarian cancer (adjusted odds ratio [aOR]=2.26; 95% confidence interval [CI]=2.06−2.49). Patients with uterine myoma who either received (aOR=1.79; 95% CI=1.51−2.13) or did not receive hormone replacement therapy (aOR=2.51; 95% CI=2.24−2.82) experienced a significantly higher risk of ovarian cancer than those without uterine myoma, respectively. However, patients with uterine myoma who underwent either myomectomy (aOR=0.55; 95% CI=0.39−0.77) or hysterectomy (aOR=0.33; 95% CI=0.26−0.42) had a significantly lower risk of ovarian cancer. Conclusion The results revealed that a significantly higher risk of ovarian cancer in women with previous uterine myoma, through an indirect mechanism. Furthermore, a lower risk of ovarian cancer was observed in women who underwent surgical removal of the uterine myoma.
The Optimal Parameter Design of CD-R Substrate
Jhang, Jhy-Ping,Lin, Shi-Hao The Korean Society for Quality Management 2005 The Asian Journal on Quality Vol.6 No.2
In recent years, high-speed recording CD-R has already become the mainstream of CD-R market. Therefore, to promote the efficiency of recording CD-R is of significant importance. This study uses Taguchi's parameter design to improve the yield rate for the process of CD-R substrate. We have found 13 three-level controllable factors from the fishbone diagram, repeated 10 times the experiment with the L27(313) orthogonal array, and measured seven quality characteristics. We employ four general methods to find the optimal parameter conditions individually. Then, we perform the confirmation experiment and compare the results. Finally, we obtain the optimal parameter conditions. According to the analysis of benefits, the optimal parameter conditions can reduce the quality loss of CD-R substrate to about 21%. In the future, the results can be extended to other research of DVD-R substrate.
