High-Quality Depth Map Upsampling and Completion for RGB-D Cameras
Jaesik Park,Hyeongwoo Kim,Yu-Wing Tai,Brown, Michael S.,In So Kweon IEEE 2014 IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON IMAGE PROCESSING - Vol.23 No.12
<P>This paper describes an application framework to perform high-quality upsampling and completion on noisy depth maps. Our framework targets a complementary system setup, which consists of a depth camera coupled with an RGB camera. Inspired by a recent work that uses a nonlocal structure regularization, we regularize depth maps in order to maintain fine details and structures. We extend this regularization by combining the additional high-resolution RGB input when upsampling a low-resolution depth map together with a weighting scheme that favors structure details. Our technique is also able to repair large holes in a depth map with consideration of structures and discontinuities utilizing edge information from the RGB input. Quantitative and qualitative results show that our method outperforms existing approaches for depth map upsampling and completion. We describe the complete process for this system, including device calibration, scene warping for input alignment, and even how our framework can be extended for video depth-map completion with the consideration of temporal coherence.</P>
Robust Multiview Photometric Stereo Using Planar Mesh Parameterization
Jaesik Park,Sinha, Sudipta N.,Matsushita, Yasuyuki,Yu-Wing Tai,In So Kweon IEEE 2017 IEEE transactions on pattern analysis and machine Vol.39 No.8
<P>We propose a robust uncalibrated multiview photometric stereo method for high quality 3D shape reconstruction. In our method, a coarse initial 3D mesh obtained using a multiview stereo method is projected onto a 2D planar domain using a planar mesh parameterization technique. We describe methods for surface normal estimation that work in the parameterized 2D space that jointly incorporates all geometric and photometric cues from multiple viewpoints. Using an estimated surface normal map, a refined 3D mesh is then recovered by computing an optimal displacement map in the same 2D planar domain. Our method avoids the need of merging view-dependent surface normal maps that is often required in conventional methods. We conduct evaluation on various real-world objects containing surfaces with specular reflections, multiple albedos, and complex topologies in both controlled and uncontrolled settings and demonstrate that accurate 3D meshes with fine geometric details can be recovered by our method.</P>

<P>We have investigated a Cu-doped MoOx/GdOx bilayer film for nonvolatile memory applications. By adopting an ultrathin GdOx layer, we obtained excellent device characteristics such as resistance ratio of three orders of magnitude, uniform distribution of set and reset voltages, switching endurance up to 104 cycles, and ten years of data retention at 85degC. By adopting bilayer films of Cu-doped MoOx/GdOx, a local filament was formed by a two-step process. Improved memory characteristics can be explained by the formation of nanoscale local filament in the ultrathin GdOx layer.</P>
지각과 주의 과제의 적용 : 운전 적성 검사 Developing the driving aptitude task

Simple perceptual/attentional tasks were applied to personal driving aptitude test. In these studies, we investigated how accurately people estimate the speed of the moving object, how precisely control the moving object, how effectively dividing and switching their attention, and skillfully selecting target from distractors. We made a comparison between the accident-prone(AP) group and the accident-non-prone(ANP) group. In all tasks, except the speed control task, ANP group showed better performance than AP group. This results showed the possibility that perceptual/attentional tasks can be used to estimate the complex skill such as driving. Group classification problem and controling the aging factor related to task performances were discussed.

Investigation of State Stability of Low-Resistance State in Resistive Memory
Jubong Park,Minseok Jo,Bourim, El Mostafa,Jaesik Yoon,Dong-Jun Seong,Joonmyoung Lee,Wootae Lee,Hyunsang Hwang IEEE 2010 IEEE electron device letters Vol.31 No.5
<P>We investigated the state stability of the low-resistance state (LRS) in a resistive switching memory having a Pt/Cu:MoO<I>x</I>/GdO<I>x</I>/Pt structure. Various resistance values of LRS were accurately controlled using an external load resistor connected in series with the resistive memory device. We found that the retention time decreased with an increase in the resistance of LRS. We performed accelerating tests for resistance transition from a low- to a high-resistance state under temperatures ranging from 200°C to 250°C. A predicted resistance of LRS for a ten-year retention period at 85°C was determined based on the Arrhenius law.</P>
A Speech Enhancement Algorithm Based on Blind Signal Cancelation in Diffuse Noise Environments
HWANG, Jaesik,SEO, Jaepil,CHO, Ji-Won,PARK, Hyung-Min 'Institute of Electronics, Information and Communi 2016 IEICE transactions on fundamentals of electronics, Vol.ea99 No.1
<P>This letter describes a speech enhancement algorithm for stereo signals corrupted by diffuse noise. It estimates the noise signal and also a beamformed target signal based on blind target signal cancelation derived from sparsity minimization. Enhanced target speech is obtained by Wiener filtering using both the signals. Experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.</P>
