        문화 및 자연 유산의 해석을 위한 3차원 스캔 모델의 가시화

        문화·자연유산 분야에서 3차원 스캐닝 기술은 아직 기록과 보존, 모니터링의 도구로 활용 폭이 제한되어 있으며, 전문가들에 의해 직접 활용되지 못하고 있다. 스캔 데이터의 정밀한 기하 정보는 효과적인 가시화를 통해 전문가들의 과학적 해석을 가능하게 할 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 이를 위해 스캔 모델로부터 필요한 기하 특성을 가시화하는 렌더링 기법들을 분석하고, 스캔 데이터의 가시화 파이프라인과 렌더링 기법 및 이의 분류 체계를 제시하였다. 또한 사례연구로서, 공룡발자국 분야의 기존 연구 방법을 분석하여 문제점을 도출하고, 이에 따라 스캔 모델을 가시화하여 전문가를 대상으로 테스트를 수행하였으며 이를 통해 효과성을 확인하였다. 본 연구는 3차원 스캔 데이터를 이용하여 문화 및 자연유산을 효과적으로 해석할 수 있는 실용적 방안을 제시하였음에 의의가 있다. As yet the use of 3D scanning technology has been limited to documentation, preservation and monitoring in cultural and natural heritage domain. Appropriate visualization of precise geometric information in scan data can support scientific interpretation of the domain experts. We studied the rendering techniques which visualize the required features from scanned models, and proposed a 3D scan data visualization pipeline, rendering methods, and a classification scheme. As a case study, we analyzed the traditional method in the study of dinosaur tracks and performed the visualization of 3D scanned models. A user test based on the result confirmed an effectiveness of the proposed method. This research showed a practical method in which 3D scanned models can be used to effective interpretation of heritage.

        In this study, in regard to the change of the paradigm to STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics), we have looked into the ways to apply scientific inquiry through the arts, discussed the educational implications for the ways to step forth with the science and the arts in educational field. In the development of the strategies related to the optical illusion arts, to make sure that the design-oriented science education to reach its goal to make effective teaching, students need to be understood in the method of the artistic designs. Totally it had two rounds for inspection about operation of the convergence with curriculum. As a result, students changed attitude to concentrate in class naturally while doing their art work, participating in person rather than simply looking. It is caused by the scientific approach to strategy of illusion arts. In addition, we could see that students change into a proactive manner as well as teachers comments that they are communicate and make a complete the work with others. A lot of researches give that science can provide the ideas as a method to arts, arts can provide creative ideas to science, but it is still lacking that research can be applied to education specifically on how to. An efforts in the number of collaborative research will continue to introduce, as this study STEAM of science and arts in the field of education be shifted paradigm.

        Interpretation through Digital Imaging: Reflectance Transformation Imaging(RTI) as a Tool for Understanding Paintings

        This paper presents Reflectance Transformation Imaging (RTI) as a tool to support the study of paintings and authentication. Manufacturing techniques of the artist are reviewed through the comparison between liberal perspectives and digital imaging techniques. In this study, RTI was applied to focus on the detailed textural information of eight paintings by Korean artist Lee Ji-ho. The RTI result visualizes shallow reliefs of brush strokes and different mediums on the surface technically enhanced through imaging filters, and these morphological textures on the surface act as a key factor in understanding the characteristics of the artist. The surface morphology and art criticism work as qualitative indicators to analyze the change of artistic techniques through time, and the usage of different mediums. The results of this study confirm that the RTI technique can be used as an analysis device in the study of paintings.

        Biodegradation of organophosphorus insecticides with PS bonds by two <i>Sphingobium</i> sp. strains

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>Although cadusafos, an aliphatic organophosphorus (OP) insecticide, is not approved by the European commission, it is used in several countries and sometimes detected as a residue in soils and agricultural products. In this study, two cadusafos-degrading <I>Sphingobium</I> sp. strains, K22212 and Cam5-1, were isolated and characterized for use as detoxifying agents of the insecticide. Both strains degraded 100 mg L<SUP>−1</SUP> of cadusafos in mineral medium within 12 h through a common metabolite, which was supposed to be dimerized thiophosphates based on its molecular weight. Degradation of cadusafos increased cell growth for Cam5-1 but not for K22212. K2212 and Cam5-1 degraded cadusafos in soil (15 mg kg<SUP>−1</SUP> dry soil) within 5 and 2 days, respectively. Both strains also degraded ethoprophos, phenthoate and phorate but not chlorpyrifos and diazinon, indicating that they are specialized for degradation of OP insecticides with at least one single bond connecting phosphorus and sulfur atoms (PS bond). For both strains, the degradation rate was the largest for ethoprophos, followed by cadusafos, phenthoate, and phorate. Our results indicate that these bacterial strains are effective degraders of OP insecticides with PS bonds, and in particular, Cam5-1 is more promising for removal of the OP insecticides in soils.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> Cadusafos was degraded through a common metabolite by two bacterial strains. </LI> <LI> Degradation of cadusafos increased cell growth of only one of the two strains. </LI> <LI> Both strains degraded OP insecticides with PS bonds but not those with PO bonds. </LI> </UL> </P>

        Electrochemical Desalination of a 50% w/w Sodium Hydroxide Solution, a Pharmaceutical Sterilization Agent

        Sodium hydroxide solutions are often employed as sterilization agents in the pharmaceutical industry. Here, the chloride content is considered as a critical impurity. In this study, an electrochemical method was developed to remove chloride ions (Cl<sup>-</sup>) through the oxidative deposition of AgCl on a Ag anode. The Cl<sup>-</sup> content in the commercially available 50% w/w NaOH solution employed was approximately 100 mg Cl<sup>-</sup>/kg NaOH. As the OH<sup>-</sup> content is approximately 18,000 times higher than the Cl<sup>-</sup> content, the formation of AgCl may be expected to be thermodynamically less favorable than the formation of Ag<sub>2</sub>O. However, activation energies for AgCl and Ag<sub>2</sub>O formation have been reported to be approximately 3.8 and 31.2 kJ/mol, respectively, and indicate that AgCl formation is favored. AgCl can be selectively produced by controlling the anode potential. Here, the Cl<sup>-</sup> concentration was reduced to less than 50 mg Cl<sup>-</sup>/kg NaOH when an anode potential of 0.18 or 0.19 V vs. Hg/HgO (reference electrode) was applied for one hour at 50℃. XRD analysis and visual monitoring of the Ag anode confirmed the oxidative deposition of AgCl on the anode surface as well as the electrochemical desalination of the concentrated NaOH solution.

        <P>This study was performed to check the feasibility of concrete polymer manhole through a development test of high strength polymer concrete and prepare fundamental data for design to solve the problems of the existing cement concrete manhole. The lower absorption capacity (0.39%) of polymer concrete will be more advantageous in installing manhole in an area with subsurface water. Also long working-life (63 minutes) will be enough to establish manholes. Conclusively, the high strength polymer concrete that is the most important issue in development of polymer concrete manhole could be made. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Appl Polym Sci, 2009</P>

        History and Trends of Data Education in Korea - KISTI Data Education Based on 2001-2019 Statistics

        Big data, artificial intelligence (AI), and machine learning are keywords that represent the Fourth industrial Revolution. In addition, as the development of science and technology, the Korean government, public institutions and industries want professionals who can collect, analyze, utilize and predict data. This means that data analysis and utilization education become more important. Education on data analysis and utilization is increasing with trends in other academy. However, it is true that not many academy run long-term and systematic education. Korea Institute of Science and Technology Information (KISTI) is a data ecosystem hub and one of its performance missions has been providing data utilization and analysis education to meet the needs of industries, institutions and governments since 1966. In this study, KISTI’s data education was analyzed using the number of curriculum trainees per year from 2001 to 2019. With this data, the change of interest in education in information and data field was analyzed by reflecting social and historical situations. And we identified the characteristics of KISTI and trainees. It means that the identity, characteristics, infrastructure, and resources of the institution have a greater impact on the trainees’ interest of data-use education.In particular, KISTI, as a research institute, conducts research in various fields, including bio, weather, traffic, disaster and so on. And it has various research data in science and technology field. The purpose of this study can provide direction forthe establishment of new curriculum using data that can represent KISTI's strengths and identity. One of the conclusions of this paper would be KISTI's greatest advantages if it could be used in education to analyze and visualize many research data. Finally, through this study, it can expect that KISTI will be able to present a new direction for designing data curricula with quality education that can fulfill its role and responsibilities and highlight its strengths.

        소셜 네트워크에서 사용자와 동행인의 궤적 정보를 이용한 장소 추천 기법

        소셜 네트워크에서 위치 기반 서비스를 연동한 다양한 서비스들이 개발되고 있다. 이러한 서비스에서 사용자의 관심 대상이 되는 장소를 추천하기 위한 연구들이 진행되고 있다. 최근 소셜 네트워크 사용자가 동행인과 함께 이동 중 방문할 수 있는 장소를 추천받기 위한 요구들이 발생하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 소셜 네트워크에서 동행인 정보를 활용하여 선호 장소를 추천하는 기법을 제안한다. 제안하는 기법에서는 동행인과의 과거 이동 궤적을 비교하여 향후 방문할 장소를 제공한다. 또한, 소셜 네트워크에 연결된 사용자들이 선호하는 장소를 사용자와 동행인의 이동 궤적과 비교하여 소셜 네트워크 사용자의 선호장소를 추천한다. 성능 평가를 통해 응답속도, 정확도, 재현율 측면에서 제안하는 기법이 기존 기법보다 우수함을 입증한다. Various location based services have been developed in social networks. Especially, studies on the recommendation techniques of locations in that users are interested have been actively performed. Recently, demands on location recommendation that the users of social networks want to visit while they move along with companions have also been observed. In this paper, we thus propose a location recommendation scheme using the information of companions in social networks. The proposed scheme compares the past moving trajectories between companions and a user, and then provides the user with interesting locations. We also compare the interesting locations of friends connected in the social networks with companions" trajectories to recommend the popular locations. Our experimental results show that the proposed scheme outperforms the existing schemes in terms of response time, recall, and precision.
