        Elitist Harris Hawks Optimized Voltage Stability Enhancement in Radial Distribution System

        In this paper, a novel Elitist Harris Hawks Optimization (EHHO) algorithm is presented for multi-objective function by optimal location and size of the photovoltaic (PV) and distribution static compensators (DSTATCOM). The multi-objective function includes power loss reduction, voltage profile enhancement, and voltage stability improvement in Distributed Generation (DG). The proposed EHHO algorithm is used to calculate the size and search for the finest location of PV and DSTATCOM. The Newton–Raphson technique is applied to analyse the load flow. To demonstrate the performance of the proposed method, IEEE 30-bus Radial Distribution System (RDS) test system is used, and compared with the FLSA, IWHO, TLBO, and BONMIN algorithms under various loading conditions. According to simulation results, the proposed EHHO method is more effective at supporting power loss reduction, improves voltage profile and voltage stability, in distribution networks than other existing algorithms. The proposed EHHO method has a Voltage Stability Index value of 0.9879 p. u and a loss of power value of 39.2908 kW.

        Time on shift in the emergency department and decision to prescribe opioids to patients without chronic opioid use

        Objective To study the effect of time on shift on the opioid prescribing practices of emergency physicians among patients without chronic opioid use.Methods We analyzed pain-related visits for five painful conditions from 2010 to 2017 at a single academic hospital in Boston. Visits were categorized according to national guidelines as conditions for which opioids are “sometimes indicated” (fracture and renal colic) or “usually not indicated” (headache, low back pain, and fibromyalgia). Using conditional logistic regression with fixed effects for clinicians, we estimated the probability of opioid prescribing for pain-related visits as a function of shift hour at discharge, time of day, and patient-level confounders (age, sex, and pain score).Results Among 16,115 visits for which opioids were sometimes indicated, opioid prescribing increased over the course of a shift (28% in the first hour compared with 40% in the last hour; adjusted odds ratio, 1.06; 95% confidence interval, 1.02–1.10; adjusted P-trend <0.01). However, among visits for which opioids are usually not indicated, relative to the first hour, opioid prescriptions progressively fell (40% in the first hour compared with 23% in the last hour; adjusted odds ratio, 0.93; 95% confidence interval, 0.91–0.96; adjusted P-trend <0.01).Conclusion As shift hour progressed, emergency physicians became more likely to prescribe opioids for conditions that are sometimes indicated, and less likely to prescribe opioids for nonindicated conditions. Our study suggests that clinical decision making in the emergency department can be substantially influenced by external factors such as clinician shift hour.

        Structural, morphological and optoelectronic aspects of YAlO3:Dy3+ doped nanocrystalline materials for NUV energized WLEDs

        Cost-effective urea assisted solution combustion (SC) synthetic method was employed to prepare a series of doped YAlO3:xDy3+ (0.01–0.08 mol) phosphors. The resulting powdered samples were comprehensively examined through various structural as well as optical measurements. Rietveld refinement studies concluded that prepared nanomaterials structured into the orthorhombic system having Pbnm (62) space group. Energy dispersive spectral (EDS) analysis was executed to observe the relative proportions of constituent elements in all doped nanophosphors. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) micrograph indicated the presence of agglomerated particles with the average size in the nano range. Photoluminescence excitation (PLE) spectra showed that the designated phosphors could be excited by near ultraviolet (NUV) energized lighting sources. The strongest emission centred at 576 nm, corresponding to electric dipole (4F9/2 → 6H13/2) transition of Dy(III) ion. Furthermore, characteristics photometric parameters viz. correlated color temperature (CCT), chromaticity coordinates (x and y), and color purity (%) were figure out with the aid of PL data, which strongly endorsed their usage in NUV energized WLEDs applications.

        An Empirical Study on Business Ethics in Manufacturing Sector

        Ethics involves distinguishing between what is right or wrong thereby making a correct choice. An organization should treat its internal as well as external stakeholders ethically. This research gives valuable insights on the prevailing ethical climate and potential organizational challenges in nstitutionalizing ethics and its management in the manufacturing sector. The present study is designed to analyze four parameters of ethical climate in the manufacturing sector with reference to different managerial levels, to identify the critical factor of the ethical code of conduct and to find correlations between four parameters of ethical climate. Descriptive research has been used and data are collected from 200 employees of three Indian companies of manufacturing sector using a well designed questionnaire. Analyzing data with SPSS, It has been found that overall good number of people believe that MBE (Management of Business Ethics) process is well implemented. People are well aware and trained and involved in the ethical process. Senior management is very much committed to promote the ethical environment in the organization and thus company values are well communicated to the employees. Concern resolution mechanism is well established in the organization. MBE in the organization is more prevalent in higher-level employees. Senior management commitment and reinforcement is very critical for CoC (code of conduct). Correlation between all the 4 parameters is positive and significant. But the parameters are not highly correlated with each other. Organizations need to work upon these parameters to promote an ethical climate in the organization by awarding or felicitating exemplary ethical behavior. More emphasis should be given on senior management commitment and reinforcement of the ethical behavior across all levels.

      • Expression of Human Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor (Her 2/neu) and Proliferative Marker Ki-67: Association with Clinicopathological Parameters in Gallbladder Carcinoma

        Purpose: To evaluate the expression of Her2/neu and Ki-67 in benign and malignant gallbladder lesions, and to establish correlations with clinico-pathologic parameters. Materials and Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted on formalin fixed paraffin embedded (FFPE) benign (n=25) and malignant gallbladder (n=25) tissue samples. Hematoxylin and eosin stained slides of each case were reviewed for: type of malignancy (whether adenocarcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, or any other type), grade (well, moderate, and poor), depth of invasion, pre-neoplastic changes in adjacent mucosal epithelium like metaplasia and dysplasia. Immunohistochemistry for Her 2 neu and Ki-67 was performed and data analysis was conducted using SPSS 17 software. Chi-square test was used to compare categorical/dichotomous variables. P value of ${\leq}0.05$ was considered significant. Results: The difference of Her 2 neu expression and Ki67 index between benign and malignant groups was found to be statistically significant. Her2/neu positivity did not have any significant correlation with various clinicopathological parameters other than liver involvement. 5 cases of gallbladder cancer showed both Her2/neu and Ki67 positivity. Ten cases were Ki67 positive but Her2/neu negative while one case was Her2/neu positive but Ki67 negative. Conclusions: The present study demonstrated overexpression of Her2/neu and Ki67 in gallbladder cancer. A trend of decreasing Her2/neu expression with increasing grade of tumor was observed. Furthermore, greater Ki67 positivity was found in cases with lymph node metastasis and distant metastasis. Future studies with a larger number of patients will be required to precisely define the correlation of Her2/neu expression and Ki67 positivity with clinicopathological parameters. The results however are encouraging and suggest evaluation of Her2/neu as a candidate for targeted therapy.

        Effectiveness of Mavrilimumab in Viral Infections Including SARS-CoV-2 Infection - A Brief Review

        Hyperinflammation and cytokine storm has been noted as a poor prognostic factor in patients with severe pneumonia related to coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). In COVID-19, pathogenic myeloid cell overactivation is found to be a vital mediator of damage to tissues, hypercoagulability, and the cytokine storm. These cytokines unselectively infiltrate various tissues, such as the lungs and heart, and nervous system. This cytokine storm can hence cause multi-organ dysfunction and life-threatening complications. Mavrilimumab is a monoclonal antibody (mAb) that may be helpful in some cases with COVID-19. During an inflammation, Granulocyte-macrophage colony-stimulating factor (GM-CSF) release is crucial to driving both innate and adaptive immune responses. The GM-CSF immune response is triggered when an antigen attaches to the host cell and induces the signaling pathway. Mavrilimumab antagonizes the action of GM-CSF and decreases the hyperinflammation associated with pneumonia in COVID-19, therefore strengthening the rationale that mavrilimumab when added to the standard protocol of treatment could improve the clinical outcomes in COVID-19 patients, specifically those patients with pneumonia. With this review paper, we aim to demonstrate the inhibitory effect of mavrilimumab on cytokine storms in patients with COVID-19 by reviewing published clinical trials and emphasize the importance of extensive future trials.

      • 축산물 중 flupyradifurone과 대사체 difluoroacetic acid 및 thiodicarb와 대사체 methomyl의 잔류분석법 교차검증

        최근 발생한 살충제 계란 파동은 사회적으로 큰 문제로 대두되었고, 축산물에 대한 안전관리 문제로 전국민적으로 큰 관심을 일으켰다. 아울러 소비자의 축산물 중 잔류된 농약에 대한 불안감 해소와 안전성 확보를 위해 축산물의 체계적인 잔류농약 안전관리가 필요한 실정이다. 본 연구는 축산물 중 잔류허용기준이 설정되지 않은 flupyradifurone(대사체 difluoroacetic acid) 및 thiodicarb(대사체 methomyl)에 대한 잔류분석법의 재현성 및 신뢰성을 확보하고자 실험실 간 교차검증 목적으로 수행되었다. 대표시료는 축산물 5종(소고기, 돼지고기, 닭고기, 계란 및 우유)을 선정하여 사용했으며, 분석기기는 LC-MS/MS를 사용하였다. 축산물 5종은 시료량을 5g으로 사용하였으며, 추출용매로 acetonitrile을 사용하였다. Flupyradifurone(대사체 difluoroacetic acid)는 5% formic acid가 포함된 acetonitrile 20mL로 추출한 뒤, freezing out 후 원심분리된 상등액을 C18 25mg와 MgSO4 150mg가 포함된 d-SPE로 정제 후 분석하였다. Thiodicarb(대사체 methomyl)는 acetonitrile 20mL로 추출한 뒤, NaCl 10g 첨가 후 원심분리된 상등액을 PSA 150mg와 MgSO₄ 900mg가 포함된 d-SPE로 정제 후 분석하였다. 이 시험법은 대사체를 포함하여 0.01mg kg<SUP>-1</SUP> 수준의 정량한계(LOQ)를 만족하였으며, matrix matched 표준물질은 정량한계 미만에서부터 10배 수준의 농도 범위까지 상관계수(r²) 0.99 이상의 우수한 직선성을 나타내었다. 확립된 전처리 방법을 이용하여 3수준(정량한계, ×10, ×50)으로 처리하였으며, 3반복 결과를 이용하여 정밀도, 정확도, 회수율을 검증하였다. 축산물 5종에 대한 각각의 회수율은 Flupyradifurone(대사체 difluoroacetic acid)에서 72.5∼114.8%, thiodicarb(대사체 methomyl)에서 72.0∼118.4%로 유효 회수율과 상대표준편차 10% 이내를 만족하였다. 따라서, 축산물 중 살충제 2종에 대한 잔류분석법에 대한 교차검증 결과, CODEX CAC/GL 40 및 「식품 등 시험법 마련 표준절차에 관한 가이드라인」에서 요구하는 재현성 및 정확성 기준을 충족하였기에 표준화된 공정시험법으로 적용 가능한 것으로 판단된다.
