      • 식물에서 분리된 phenolic compound의 항암활성

이도익,조장현,이민원,홍순각 중앙대학교 약학연구소 1996 약학 논총 Vol.10 No.-

3,4'-dihydroxypropiophenone, a phenylpropanoid, purified from Betula platyphylla var. latifolia was evaluated on the antitumor activity. In vitro, the cytoxicity was determined by 0.4% trypan blue dye exclusion method. And the most sensitivity cell line was L5178Y(ED_50=0.96ug/ml). The ED_50 of 3, 4'-dihydroxypropiophenone against sarcoma-180, L-1210 were 8.77 and 2.69ug/ml respectively. As a result, 3, 4'-dihydroxypropiophenone was considered to show the antitumor activity.

The Evaluation of Ship Motions in a Harbor along the Entrance Channel by Field Observation

        Ik-Soon Cho 한국항해항만학회 2005 한국항해항만학회지 Vol.29 No.9

Maritime transportation consists of various situations such as navigation in the ocean, ship handling at harbor entrances, cargo handling and mooring in harbors. Generally, ships are built for the purpose of carrying people and materials upon the seas. In order to accomplish the mission, a ship must be built to withstand the rigors of heavy weather and waves. In particular, the safety of ship motions at the entering/departing harbor and mooring under the effects of waves is very important for ship operation from the viewpoint of marine engineering. Therefore, safety and efficiency during entrance, departure, and mooring are extremely important aspects in the evaluation of ship operations from viewpoints of ship motions. However, the ship motions near a harbor entrance are not observed or studied as much. In this paper, to evaluate the difficulty of ship operations, field observations were performed using a new observation system with high accuracy in typhoon seasons, and grasp was done concerning about the time series characteristic that ship motions change rapidly within a harbor. Namely, such observations enable the quantitative safety evaluation under the effects of waves during ships entering and departing harbors in heavy weather.

The Introductory Concept of Maritime Safety Audit as a tool for Identifying Potential Hazards

        Ik-Soon Cho,In-Chul Kim,Yun-Sok Lee 한국항해항만학회 2010 한국항해항만학회지 Vol.34 No.9

Recently, the navigation risk is increasing significantly with growing of vessels' volume and propelling marine facilities, water bridges and port development etc. As a result, Ministry of Land, Transport and Maritime Affairs enacted a new law called MSA(Maritime Safety Audit) as a comprehensive maritime traffic safety management scheme in order to ensure safety improvements from the early planning stage to post managing of the development which affect the maritime traffic environment. MSA as a tool for improving maritime traffic safety is a formal safety diagnosis assessment in the existing or future ship's fairway by an independent audit institute. It examines the potential hazards of maritime traffic safety about the port development, if necessary, and is to ensure the implementation of appropriate safety measures. The primary purpose of MSA is to identify potential risk elements affecting safe navigation. This paper is aimed to introduce the backgrounds, the necessity and efficiency of MSA and also to describe some technical standards and diagnostic procedures.

      • A Safety Evaluation of Moored Ship Motions by Observed Tsunami Profile

        Ik-Soon Cho,Masayoshi Kubo,Gil-Young Kong,Yun-Sok Lee,Choong-Ro Lee 한국항해항만학회 2006 한국항해항만학회 학술대회논문집 Vol.1 No.-

Recent warnings indicate that there is a potential risk of massive earthquake in Japan within 30 years. These earthquakes could produce large-scale tsunamis. Tsunamis are very powerful and can be traveled thousands of miles and caused damage in many countries. Consideration of the effect of tsunami to the moored ship is very important because it brings the loss of life and vast property damage. In this paper, the numerical simulation procedure to analyze the motions of a moored ship due to the observed waves of tsunami, Tokachi-off earthquake tsunami profile in northern Pacific coasts of Japan on September 26 in 2003. And the effects on the motions and mooring loads are investigated by numerical simulation. Numerical simulations consist of hydrodynamic analyses in a frequency domain and ship motion analyses in a time domain as the motions of moored ships are examined. As the process begins, the hydrodynamic and wave- exciting forces for moored ships must be calculated. Ship motions and mooring forces can then be calculated by solving the equations of motion. In order to investigate the safety evaluation on the motions of moored ship by tsunami attack, we applied a numerical simulation procedure to a 135,000m3 LNG carrier moored at an offshore sea berth.

The Prediction of Wave Groups within a Harbor to Assist Ship Operation at the Entrance

Cho Ik-Soon Korean Institute of Navigation and Port Research 2006 한국항해항만학회지 Vol.30 No.2

Waves, which are the main source of ship motions in a seaway, considerably affect the performance of a ship. The study of waves and their impact on ship motions within harbors is an important aspect of the design and operation of harbors. The prediction of incoming groups of waves is particularly important for evaluating ship motion within a harbor. Such a prediction makes it possible to evaluate ship safety more accurately. The wave transformation model reported here is applied to actual ports based on Boussinesq wave equations both non-linear and dispersive wave processes be considered in order to capture physical effects such as wave shoaling, refractions, reflection and diffraction in variable depth environments. The prediction of incoming groups of waves is particularly important for evaluating ship motion within a harbor, Such a prediction makes it possible to evaluate ship safety more accurately and provide safe wave informations for navigation. Furthermore, a wave information support system is proposed for entering ships as one technique for improving the safety of ship operations. This system predicts the run of waves and reduces the danger by identifying the most dangerous point near the harbor entrance at the small wave groups.

      • Impact of Nucleos(t)ide Analogue Treatment for Chronic Hepatitis B on Various Malignancies Development

( Soon Sun Kim ),( Eun Kyoung Ahn ),( Hyun Ji Kim ),( Dae Ryong Kang ),( Soo Yeon Cho ),( Rae Woong Park ),( Hyo Jung Cho ),( Jong Ik Park ),( Sun Hyuk Hwang ),( Jae Youn Cheong ),( Sung Won Cho ) 대한간학회 2017 춘·추계 학술대회 (KASL) Vol.2017 No.1

Aims: It is unclear whether nucleos(t)ide analogues (NAs) against hepatitis B influence the risk of various malignancies except for hepatocellular carcinoma. We evaluated the association of NAs and the risk of various malignancies in patients with chronic hepatitis B. Methods: A total of 9,867 patients with chronic hepatitis B who were treated with NAs or not between December 1998 and June 2013 were followed up ≥ 12 months for the occurrence of any kind of malignancy at Ajou University Hospital, Suwon, South Korea. Patients who developed HCC or other malignancy within 12 months were excluded. Patients who received NAs ≥180 days were defined as NA group. Propensity score matching performed using adjustment for age, gender, diabetes mellitus and liver cirrhosis produced control (n = 2,220) and NA group (n = 2,220). National Health Insurance Service (NHIS) sample cohort dataset was used for external validation. Results: During the median follow-up period of 1,477 days, 1,943 (16.1%) patients developed any kind of malignancy. Multivariate analysis showed that only age over 50 was an independent risk factor for development of malignancies other than HCC (HR 3.17, 95% CI 1.71-5.88, P <0.001). Considering the specific cancer such as thyroid, breast, lung, stomach, colorectal, pancreas cancer and hematologic malignancy, there was no difference of incidence of each malignancy between two groups in both hospital based cohort and NHIS sample cohort. Conclusions: NA treatment was not associated with significantly increased incidence of extrahepatic malignancies in patients with chronic hepatitis B.
