The air-side particulate fouling in the heat exchangers of HVAC applications degrades the performance of<br/> cooling capacity, pressure drop across a heat exchanger, and indoor air quality. Indoor and outdoor air<br/> contaminants foul heat exchangers. The purpose of this study is to investigate the fouling characteristics<br/> trough accelerated tests. The fouling characteristics are analyzed as functions of a dust concentration (1.28<br/> and 3.84 g/㎥), a face velocity (0.5, 1.0, and 1.5 m/s), and a surface condition. The cooling capacity in the<br/> slitted finned-tube heat exchangers at the face velocity of 1 m/s decreases about 2% and the pressure drop<br/> increases up to 57%. The rate of build-up of fouling is observed to be 3 times slower for this three-fold<br/> reduction of dust concentration whilst still approaching the same asymptotic level.

<P>In this study, polyaniline/titanium oxide (PANi-TiO2) nanoweb composite was fabricated through electrochemical deposition and electrospinning techniques, and the composite was further utilized as an electrode for a supercapacitor. The PANi-TiO2 composite film showed three-dimensional hierarchical micro/nano architecture. The film was deposited on the current collector without the use of any binders. The morphology of the PANi-TiO2 composite film was confirmed by the use of field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM) analysis that polyaniline was grown in the form of nanorods with a diameter of 100 nm-200 nm on a TiO2 nanoweb. The chemical composition and quantitative analysis were determined by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). The electrochemical properties were analyzed by cyclic voltammetry (CV), chronopotentiometry, and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). The result of electrochemical tests indicated that TiO2-PANi electrode displayed a high specific capacitance of 306.5 Fg(-1) at the scan rate of 20 mVs(-1), with the capacitance retention ratio being 103% after 500 cycles at the scan rate of 50 mVs(-1).</P>

Keyword indexed in multidisciplinary journals show trends about science and technology innovation. Nature and Science were selected as multidisciplinary journals for our analysis. In order to reduce the effect of plurality of keyword, stemming algorithm were implemented. After this process, we fitted growth curve of keyword (stem) following bass model, which is a well-known model in diffusion process. Bass model is useful for expressing growth pattern by assuming innovative and imitative activities in innovation spreading. In addition, we construct keyword co-occurrence network and calculate network measures such as centrality indices and local clustering coefficient. Based on network metrics and yearly frequency of keyword, time series analysis was conducted for obtaining statistical causality between these measures. For some cases, local clustering coefficient seems to Granger-cause yearly frequency of keyword. We expect that local clustering coefficient could be a supportive indicator of emerging science and technology.

<P><B>Abstract</B></P><P>Target motion–induced uncertainty in particle therapy is more complicated than that in X-ray therapy, requiring more accurate motion management. Therefore, a hybrid motion-tracking system that can track internal tumor motion and as well as an external surrogate of tumor motion was developed. Recently, many correlation tests between internal and external markers in X-ray therapy have been developed; however, the accuracy of such internal/external marker tracking systems, especially in particle therapy, has not yet been sufficiently tested. In this article, the process of installing an in-house hybrid internal/external motion-tracking system is described and the accuracy level of tracking system was acquired. Our results demonstrated that the developed in-house external/internal combined tracking system has submillimeter accuracy, and can be clinically used as a particle therapy system as well as a simulation system for moving tumor treatment.</P>

<P>The 9-(<I>Z</I>)-configuration was exclusively obtained in the carotenoid polyene chain irrespective of olefination and disconnection methods for terminal <I>ortho</I>-unsubstituted benzene rings. The 2,6-dimethyl substituents in the terminal rings secure an all-(<I>E</I>)-polyene structure.
