        Importance Analysis of Decision Making Factors for Selecting International Freight Transportation Mode

        Currently, the competition among carriers in the international freight service industry is getting fierce. In particular, the LCC (Low Cost Carriers) in Korea secured the licenses for international freight delivery service. However, due to the high costs, most shippers prefer car ferry services over air transportation, even though the service level of air transportation is considerably better. The present paper investigates how the LCCs, as compared to car ferry services, secure the competitive advantage in the international transportation service as compared to car ferry services. We have focused on the factors shippers regard as the most important for selecting transportation mode. For a reasonable comparison, we have limited the business area to the north eastern Asian countries, including Korea, China, Japan, and Russia. We have developed a questionnaire for the shippers who export their own product in these countries from Korea. Based on the results of fuzzy-AHP, it can be concluded that the factors related to the reliability and convenience are regarded as the important factors for selecting the transportation mode. Furthermore, the results of this study can be used by LCCs to develop their own strategies for competing with car ferry services.

        도시환경 VANET을 고려한 라우팅 알고리즘

        Vehicular Ad-Hoc Network(VANET)에서는 차량의 높은 이동성으로 인하여 빈번한 네트워크 단절이 일어난다. 본 논문에서는 이런 문제를 해결하기 위해 차량 밀도에 기반을 둔 경로 선택 알고리즘과 최소 홉 수를 유지하면서 end-to-end 패킷 전송 비율을 높이는 라우팅 알고리즘을 제시한다. 또한 교차로 근처에서 패킷을 전송할 때 건물로 인한 Packet Error Rate을 줄이는 다음 홉 노드 선택 알고리즘을 소개한다. 시뮬레이션 통하여 제안 알고리즘이 GPSR(Greedy Perimeter Stateless Routing for Wireless Networks)에 버퍼를 두어 패킷을 carry하도록 수정한 알고리즘보다 성능이 향상 된 것을 확인하였다. Vehicular Ad-hoc NETworks (VANETs) suffer from frequent network disconnections due to obstacles such as buildings even in urban environments with high density of traffic. Thus, in this paper, we propose a routing algorithm that finds optimal end-to-end paths in terms of both traffic density and distance in the urban VANET and selects the next hop with the minimum distance, while maintaining the minimum hop counts over the path. The simulation results show that the proposed algorithm achieves higher throughput and smaller end-to-end delay than Greedy Perimeter Stateless Routing (GPSR) with message carrying.

        한국형 인터넷전문은행 도입의 영향에 관한 연구

        본 연구는 최근 우리나라에서 도입 예정인 인터넷전문은행의 영향을 살펴보기 위해 선행연구와 주요국 사례를 중심으로 한 탐색적 연구를 시도하였다. 분석결과, 첫째, 선행연구 및 해외 사례를 통해 도출한 인터넷전문은행의 성공요인으로는 고객기반 확보 전략과 차별화 전략이 주효한 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 한국형 인터넷전문은행 출현으로 국내 대출시장의 분할가능성이 예상되며, 특히 주요 경쟁시장은 저축은행 등 중금리대출시장이 될 것으로 보인다. 해당 인터넷전문은행의 경쟁력 확보 이후 국내 금융소비자는 대출금리 인하, 예금금리 인상 등 순차적인 효과를 누릴 것으로 예상되는 바, 대출금리인하효과로 인한 잠재적 대출수요자의 편익은 최소 약 70억원 가량으로 추정되고 수신금리인상효과로 인한 편익은 최소 약 11억원 이상이 될 것으로 추정된다. 셋째, 인터넷전문은행의 출현으로 금융소비자의 편익이 보장되기 위해서는 무엇보다도 사전․사후 금융감독시스템이 정교하게 설계될 필요가 있다. 나아가 금융그룹화 가능성을 염두에 둔 금융감독시스템의 설계는 금융소비자 보호 측면에서 중요한 정책적 이슈가 되어야 할 것이다. This study was an exploratory one on the impact of Korean internet primary banks (IPBs) on financial consumers, based on a survey of the literatures and other country"s cases. The main findings are as follows. First, the main success factors derived from previous studies and other country"s cases were a customer-based strategy and differentiation strategy. Second, it is expected that the segmentation of the domestic lending market, resultings from the introduction of Korean IPBs is likely to increase competition in the middle-rate lending market including savings banks. Once the competitiveness of the IPBs is secured, financial customers are expected to benefit from sequential effects, such as the lowering of loan interest rates and the raising of deposit interest rates. Therefore, the potential benefits to costumers are estimated to be more than 7 billion won in loans and more than 1.1 billion won in deposits. Third, in order for these benefits to be guaranteed, an elaborately designed ex-ante and ex-post financial supervisory system needs to be put in place. Furthermore, the design of the financial supervisory system would be an important policy issues from the viewpoint of financial consumer protection.

        물동량 변동요인이 터미널 운영에 미치는 영향력 분석에 관한 연구

        본 연구는 컨테이너 물동량이 컨테이너 터미널을 운영할 때 얼마만큼 영향을 주는지를 알아보기 위하여 SD기법을 이용하여 모델을 구축하고, 이를 이용하여 정량적인 결과치를 분석하며, 의사결정자들에게 시사점을 제공하는 것을 연구의 목적으로 하였다. 연구의 대상은 인천남항에 위치한 ‘A’컨테이너 터미널을 선정하였으며, 시뮬레이션 기간은 2004년부터 2020년까지 설정하였다. 터미널 운영에 관한 평가지표로는 터미널의 ‘총 매출액’, ‘C/Y가동률’, ‘G/C가동률’을 선정하였으며, 물동량 변동요인은 ‘세계교역량 증감률’, ‘동북 3국 교역량 증감률’, ‘대미환율 증감률’ 등 대외적 변동요인을 이용하였다. 연구결과 2020년을 기준으로 ‘A’컨테이너 터미널의 수출입 물동량은 약 88만TEU로 예상되며, 매출액은 약 80억원으로 예상된다. 그리고 G/C의 가동률은 약 65% 기록하였다. 하지만 컨테이너 적재량 및 C/Y의 가동률은 변화가 없는 것으로 나타났는데 이는 C/Y의 처리능력을 초과하였기 때문이라 판단할 수 있으며 ‘A’컨테이너 터미널 의사결정자들은 C/Y 공간확보의 시급함을 인식하여야 할 것으로 분석되었다. The aim of this study is to analyze the container terminal operation by considering the key factors that fluctuates the container traffic volume using the System Dynamics (SD) method. The target area of this study is the 'A' container terminal which is located in the Port of Incheon and the simulation period is from 2004 to 2020. As evaluation indexes for container terminal operation, three factors such as 'total sales', 'operating ratio of C/Y' and 'operating ratio of G/C' are selected, and as for the key factors of fluctuating container traffic volume, 'variation ratio of world trade', 'variation ratio of trade among three countries in North-East Asia' and 'variation ratio of won-dollar rate are used. As of 2020, the result of this study is that import-export container traffic volume increases almost 880,000TEU and total sales and operating ratio of G/C each reach 7.1 bilion won and 65 percent. No changes however in loadage and operating ratio of C/Y in 'A' container terminal are indicated. The reason is that capability of C/Y is exceeded. Therefore this study suggest that decision-makers of 'A' container terminal realize the importance of additional space of C/Y.

        Study of Random Variation in Germanium-Source Vertical Tunnel FET

        <P>An optimally designed germanium-source vertical tunnel FET (V-TFET) is investigated using technology computer aided design simulation. Three consecutive band-to-band tunneling (BTBT) mechanisms (i.e., lateral, vertical, and additional vertical BTBT) are used in the V-TFET to enhance its performance as well as to maintain an average subthreshold slope below 60 mV/decade at 300 K. The impact of various V-TFET parameters on its performance is also investigated. Furthermore, the impact of threshold voltage variation (sigma V-TH) due to random variability [e.g., line-edge roughness (LER) and random dopant fluctuation (RDF)] on the performance of the V-TFET is studied. The LER in the V-TFET is found that the electric field is increased by the LER in the source region, resulting in the generation of lucky paths, which can lead to increase sigma V-TH. Without a gate-to-source overlap region in the V-TFET, RDF/LER-induced sigma V-TH is considerably increased by a lateral tunneling mechanism. As a result, the gate-to-source overlap region in the V-TFET is critical to enhancing the performance and designing a variation-aware V-TFET. Last but not least, field-induced quantum confinement leads to delay the onset voltage of the vertical BTBT, so that the device performance and process-induced random variation (especially, RDF) are significantly deteriorated.</P>

        Pattern Analysis of Laser Fiber Degradation According to the Laser Setting: In Vitro Study of the Double-Firing Phenomenon

        Background: It is essential to understand the mechanism of the various causes of laser fiber damage and an ideal method of reducing endoscope damage induced by laser emission in multiple sites. This study classified the different patterns of laser fiber degradation according to laser settings and analyzed the role of cavitation bubbles to find a desirable way of minimizing endoscope damage. Methods: A total of 118 laser fibers were analyzed after 1-,3-, and 5-min laser emission to artificial stones under the settings of 1 J-10 Hz, 1 J-20 Hz, 1 J-30 Hz, and 2 J-10 Hz. Every 3 cm from the fiber tip was marked and examined with a digital microscope and a high-speed camera. The images of the fibers and the movement of cavitation bubbles were taken with a distance of 1 to 5 mm from the gel. Results: Seven types of fiber damage (charring, limited and extensive peeled-off, bumpy, whitish plaque, crack, and break-off ) coincided during laser emission. Damages rapidly increased with emission time > 3 minutes regardless of the laser settings. The damaged lengths covered 5 mm on average, and the fibers at 5-min emission were significantly shorter than others. The fiber durability of 1J-10Hz setting was better than other settings after 3-min laser emission. Backward movement of the cavitation bubbles was found at the 1-mm distance from the gel, and the damaged lengths were longer than the diameters of the cavitation bubbles because of their proximal movement. Conclusion: The damage patterns of the laser fiber tips were classified into seven types. The heat damage around the surface of the laser fiber can be increased according to the highenergy or high-frequency laser setting, a short distance to the stone, a short distance from the tips of flexible ureteroscopes, no cutting laser fiber procedures, and the inappropriate use of irrigation fluid or laser fiber jacket.
