      • 임상가검물에서 분리된 효모의 임상적 의의

        1988년 1월부터 동년 12월말까지 경북대학교병원 임상병리과에 의뢰된 가검물 중에서 효모가 분리되었던 환자는 159명이었고, 남자와 여자의 비율은 1.8이었으며 1세 이하와 30세 이상에서 많았다. 또 분리 동정된 효모 총 159주 중 객담에서 78주(49.1%), 요에서 64주(40.3%), 복막액 5주(3.1%) 편도와 대변 각각 4주(2.5%), 농에서 3주(1.9%) 뇌척수액에서 1주(0.6%) 순으로 분리되었다. 분리된 효모로는 Candida albicans가 68주(42.8%), Candida tropicalis 33주(20.8%) Torulopsis glabrata 20주(12.6%), Candida parapsilosis 17주(10.7%), Trichosporon beigelli 7주(4.4%), Torulopsis candida 5주(3.1%), Torulopsis inconspicua와 Saccharomyces cerevisiae가 각 4주(2.5%), Candida guilliermondii 1주(0.6%) 순으로 있었다. 환자들의 기존질병은 폐질환이 70예, 요로질환이 40예 악성종양 및 당뇨병이 각 22예, 간질환 16예, 순환기 질환이 12예 등으로 나타났으며, 유인중 항생제 사용은 114예(80.0%), 수술 49예(34.3%), 카테터 46예(32.2%), 스테로이드사용 28예(19.6%) 악성종양과 당뇨병이 22예(15.4%), 항암제 사용이 10예(7.0%)로 나타났다. 유인이 2개 중복된 경우는 43예, 3개 중복은 38예, 4개는 11예, 5개는 2예로 나타났다. Yeast infection is commonest fungal infection of human. And their incidence becomes to be increased as the frequency of altered host immune system is increased. Antibiotics, cytotoxic drug, malignancy, diabetes mellitus, operative procedures and catherizations are predisposition of fungal infection. Since antifungal drug within a selective or narrow range of activity are available, it is important that speciation of yeast in routine clinical microbiology practice should be effected rapidly and reliably. Author isolated 159 strains of yeast and that were identified by API 20C Auxanogram®. Patient charts were reviewed retrogradely in order to find predisposing factors of isolated yeast cells. Yeast isolation is 1.8(102:57) of male to female rtio and is more frequently below 1 year-old and above 30 year-old in both sexes. Septum(49.1%). urine(40.3%) were major specimens in which yeast isolated. Candida albicans(42.8%), Candida tropicalis(20.8%), Torulopsis glabrata(12.6%), Candida parapsilosis(10.7%) were frequently identified species in order. Candida albicans and Candida parapsilosis were frequently isolated species among various specimens. Pulmonary diseases, urinary tract diseases, malignancy, and diabetes mellitus were major underlying diseases. And antibiotic(80.0%), operative procedure(34.3%), catherterization(32.2%), steroid(19.6%), malignancy(15.4%), diabetes mellitus(15.4%) and cytotoxic drug(7.0%) were predisposed in order.

      • 알코올의 섭취가 흰쥐의 혈액과 간의 지질대사에 미치는 영향

        To investigate the effects of ethanol on the lipid metabolism in blood and liver, twenty one male Sprague Dawley rats had orally taken the 25% alcohol and 50% alcohol by 5g per Kg of weight during 3 weeks after the adjusting period. For the energy balance, 85% sucrose and 45% sucrose was added in control group and 25% alcohol group each. The weight was reduced by alcohol treatment according to the levels, otherwise the weight of liver and heart was little increased in alcohol groups rather than in control without significance. Moreover, RBC, WBC, hemoglobin and hematocrit were increased by alcohol treatment according to the levels without significance. Otherwise, adjusted bilirubin levels by 100g of weight was significantly increased by alcohol treatment dose dependently. Alcohol induced RBC degradation and increased circulated bilirubin because of liver damage. For blood lipid profiles, blood cholesterol was increased in 50% of alcohol group compared to that of 25% and control groups, otherwise, blood triglycerides (TG) was increased by 30% in 25% alcohol groups rather than in control but not significantly different. The hepatic lipid composition, cholesterol levels in alcohol treatment groups was lower than those in control. The hepatic TG was not influenced by alcohol treatment. The two reasons of decreasing hepatic lipids were suggested by 85% sucrose of control for energy balance more synthesized cholesterol and TG than those in 25 or 50% alcohol groups, and by cholesterol and TG could not be synthesized because of liver damage from alcohol.

      • Embedded Design of Position Based Impedance Force Control for Implementing Interaction between a Human and a ROBOKER

        This paper presents the implementation of an embedded design of the position based impedance controller for interaction between robot and human. The robot, called ROBOKER, has two arms. An impedance force controller is designed on an FPGA chip along with a robust position controller. Force induced by human is applied to the robot manipulator to react. Force by human is filtered by impedance function to generate desired position for the robot to follow. Experimental studies of a hand-shaking task are conducted.

        Quality characteristics and antioxidant activities of cheonggukjang prepared with soybean and lotus seeds

        Cheonggukjang (CGJ) is a famous traditional Korean food that is typically produced by fermenting steamed soybean seeds and has a unique flavor and taste. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of addition of lotus seeds on the quality and antioxidant activities of CGJ. Color value, 1,1-diphenly-2-picrylhydrazyl radical scavenging potential, and the amounts of total polyphenol, total flavonoid, mineral, and free amino acid were evaluated. The CGJ sample produced with lotus alone or a mixture of soybean and lotus produced in Korea showed relatively high antioxidant potential. The amount of essential and total free amino acids was also high in the sample prepared with lotus seeds grown in Korea. On the other hand, the total mineral content was low in the lotus-based samples. The results indicated that a mixture of an equal proportion of soybean and lotus seeds could be a good option to prepare nutritious CGJ.

        Telomerase Activity and the Risk of Lung Cancer

        <P>Telomerase play a key role in the maintenance of telomere length and chromosome integrity. We have evaluated the association between telomerase activity and the risk of lung cancer in peripheral blood. Telomerase activity in peripheral blood mononuclear cells was measured by a PCR-designed telomeric repeat amplification protocol in 63 lung cancer patients and 190 healthy controls that were matched for age, gender, and smoking status. Telomerase activity was significantly lower in the lung cancer patients than in controls (mean ± standard deviation; 1.32 ± 1.65 vs 2.60 ± 3.09, <I>P</I> < 1 × 10<SUP>-4</SUP>). When telomerase activity was categorized into quartiles based on telomerase activity in the controls, the risk of lung cancer increased as telomerase activity reduced (<I>P</I><SUB>trend</SUB> = 1 × 10<SUP>-4</SUP>). Moreover, when the subjects were categorized based on the median value of telomerase activity, subjects with low telomerase activity were at a significantly increased risk of lung cancer compared to subjects with high telomerase activity (adjusted odds ratio = 3.05, 95% confidence interval = 1.60-5.82, <I>P</I> = 7 × 10<SUP>-4</SUP>). These findings suggest that telomerase activity may affect telomere maintenance, thereby contributing to susceptibility to lung cancer.</P>

        본 연구에서는 노후한 학교 강의실의 부위별 누기 면적을 측정하고 누기 면적이 미세먼지 농도에 주는 영향을 분석하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 블로어 도어 테스트(Blower door test)를 통해 각 부위를 Case 화하여 누기면적을 측정하고 해당 Case의 평균 미세먼지 농도 변화 추이를 비교하였다. 실험 결과를 경계조건으로 하여 CFD(Computational Fluid Dynamics) 시뮬레이션을 분석하였다.

        로봇 팔의 시간지연제어기의 가속도 평가를 위한 Kalman 필터의 FPGA 임베디드 설계

        In this paper, an embedded Kalman filter for a time-delayed controller is designed on an FPGA to estimate accelerations of the robot arm. When the time-delayed controller is used as a controller, the inertia estimation along with accelerations is needed to form the control law. Although the time-delayed controller is known to be robust to cancel out uncertainties in the nonlinear systems, performances are very much dependent upon estimating the acceleration term q(t-λ) along with inertia estimation D(t-λ). Estimating accelerations using the finite difference method is quite simple, but the accuracy of estimation is poor specially when the robot moves slowly. To estimate accelerations more accurately, various filters such as the least square fit filter and the Kalman filter are introduced and implemented on an FPGA chip. Experimental studies of following the desired trajectory are conducted to show the performance of the controller. Performances of different filters are investigated experimentally and compared.

        One of the main streams of LNG tanker building is the Moss spherical tank design since it can be precisely analyzed on reliability and safety of construction by stress analysis. As the materials for the Moss spherical tank, aluminum alloy 5083 is generally applied to the wall of LNG tanker building, which are free of low temperature brittleness, corrosion resistance, weldability, and excellent material properties in usage. The Moss spherical tank is constructed with several patches of A5083 thick plate with curved surface by welding together. It is essential to predict the amount of springback for deformed thick plates in design of reliable construction because they should be assembled exactly into the perfect sphere. Unless it is constructed based on the initial design, there are additional processes for fixing those together and LNG tanker has to pay the penality to a consumer. In this paper, FE analyses are conducted for predicting the amount of springback according to the various forming conditions and forming processes. Newly proposed forming process is evaluated by how reducing the springback compared with conventional forming process for curved surface of Al thick plate.

        힘 제어 기반의 로봇 팔과 인간 팔의 상호 작용을 위한 임베디드 시스템 설계

        In this paper, an embedded system has been designed for force control application to interact between a robot arm and a human operator. Force induced by the human operator is converted to the desired position information for the robot to follow. For smooth operations, the impedance force control algorithm is utilized to represent interaction between the robot and the human operator by filtering the force. To improve the performance of position control of the robot arm, a velocity term has been obtained and tested by several filters. A PD controller for position control has been implemented on an FPGA as well. Experimental studies are conducted with the ROBOKER to test the functionality of the designed hardware.
