Purpose: Obstructive voiding difficulties were frequent in the patients with metastatic prostatic cancer, and sometimes acute urinary retention may be developed even though medical treatments. We performed channel transurethral resection of prostate (TURP) as palliative treatment for those patients and reported the results. Materials and Methods: Fifteen patients with metastatic prostatic cancer were taken TURP aiming for relief of infravesical obstruction. All patients were under the anti-androgen hormonal therapy and had sudden onset of acute urinary retention. TURP was done under general or epidural anesthesia. After TURP, 30∼50 cc ballooning urethral Foley catheter was placed for 4 days. We analyzed voiding parameters comparatively before and 3 months after TURP. Results: The mean age of patients was 75.6±5.7 years old. Mean prostatic volume was 47.8±1.4 cc. Mean resected prostatic tissue was 6.4±2.1 cc. All patients had stage D prostatic cancer. Mean serum PSA was 75.2± 73.8 ng/ml and mean gleason score was 7.8±0.9. After TURP, mean international prostatic symptom score (IPSS) was improved from 25.5±2.0 to 13.8±2.0, mean quality of life score (QOL) was improved from 4.4±0.5 to 2.0±0.5, and mean maximum uroflow rate was increased from 5.0±1.1 ml/sec to 6.0±1.6 ml/sec. All patients did not have any complications according to TURP. Conclusion: In patients with metastatic prostatic cancer, channel TURP could be considered as a treatment option to relieve severe obstructive voiding difficulty. (J. Background: An immunological approach for aging mechanism appears to be important. Lymphocyte subsets analysis in peripheral blood is widely performed to assess the immune status and to diagnose and monitor various diseases. Some lymphocyte subsets are known to change with age, but only few data about age-related reference ragnes for these subsets in healthy individuals have been reported. So we attempted to report reference ranges for these subsets in each age group and review changes of the results with age for the secondary studies about immune cell function as lymphocyte blast transformation and immunoglobulin gene rearrangement (VDJ) including recombination activating genes (RAG-1 and RAG-2). Methods: Lymphocyte subset analysis was performed on 302 subjects, 189 males and 113 females with age group of all decades of life. Two color direct immunofluorescene flow cytometry (FCM) was done using $Simultest^{TM}$ IMK-Lymphocyte kit (Becton Dickinson, USA), $FACScan^{TM}$ (Becton Dickinson, USA) and $FACSCalibur^{TM}$ (Becton Dickinson, USA). Lymphocyte subsets analysed were T ($CD3^+$) and B cells ($CD19^+$), helper/inducer T ($CD4^+$) and suppressor/cytotoxic T cells ($CD8^+$), helper/suppressor ($CD4^+/CD8^+$) ratio and natural killer (NK) cells ($CD3^-CD16^+/CD56^+$). The absolute numbers of each subset were calculated from total lymphocyte counts. Data collected was analysed using SAS 6.12. A P-value of < 0.05 was considered significant. Results: We reported the counts and percentages of lymphocyte and these subsets in each age group. There were no statistically significant differences between male and female subjects. The percentage of $CD4^+$ T cells, and the count of NK cells did not show the significant difference among the various age groups. The age-related changes observed in our study were as following: 1) a decrease in the percentages of T cells, B cells and $CD8^+$ T cells ; 2) a decrease in the counts of B cells and $CD8^+$ T cells ; 3) an increase in the percentage and count of NK cells ; and 4) an increase in the $CD4^+/CD8^+$ ratio. Conclusion: The characteristics of aging process appeared to be showing a marked decrease of lympocyte subsets T and B cells as well as T8 ($CD8^+$). The age-related increase of the percentage of cells bearing NK marker can be interpreted as a compensatory consequence to cope with the decrease of T cells related to the thymic involution. These changes with age appeared to be for the secondary study about immune cell function as lymphocyte blast transformation and immunoglobulin gene rearrangement.

Effects of Magneto-Dielectric Ceramics for Small Antenna Application

Hexagonal Ba-ferrites are widely suggested as materials for small antennas. In this paper,the sintering behavior and magneto-electric properties of Ba3Co2-2xMn2xFe24O41 (0.1≤x≤0.5) ceramics were investigated for small antenna application. All samples of Ba3Co2-2xMn2xFe24O41 ceramics were prepared by the solid-state reaction method and sintered at 1250℃. From the XRD patterns of the sintered Ba3Co2-2xMn2xFe24O41 ceramics, the Z-type phases were found to be the main phases. The real part of permittivity and permeability of the Ba3Co2-2xMn2xFe24O41 ceramics decreased with frequency. On the other hand, loss tangents of permittivity and permeability tended to behave opposite to real part of permittivity and permeability. The real part of permeability was affected by Mn additions. The real part of permittivity, the loss tangent of permittivity and the real part of permeability, the loss tangent of permeability of Ba3Co0.2Mn0.8Fe24O41 ceramics were 19.774, 0.176 and 15.183, 0.073, respectively, at 510 MHz. In order to investigate the effect of magneto-dielectric ceramics on antenna, PIFA (Planar Inverted F Antenna) was simulated with CST (Computer Simulation Technology). The operating frequency of antenna was decreased without considerable change of bandwidth by using the Ba3Co0.2Mn0.8Fe24O41 ceramics as the carrier.

Customs Classification Disputes over IT Products and Implications for Global Trade

Disputes frequently arise between importers and customs authorities particularly when a new product is, prima facie, classifiable under two or more HS codes. By examining the dispute case of Multi-Chip Packages (MCPs) involving technological progress, this article identifies the problems of new product classification and provides implications for global companies and customs authorities. In examining the Multi-Chip Packages classification case, this research follows an interpretive approach. The case study on the MCPS dispute is conducted based on information collected by searching through related documents and interviewing appropriate individuals concerning MCPS classification. The court's decision on MCPs supported the business community’s argument, focusing on product characteristics. In addition, some indirect forces influenced the court’s classification decision. In particular, the mood in both the home country and abroad might have affected the court's decision to classify MCPs as HS 8542. The court's decision exhibits logical inconsistency and there is confusion in the courts regarding how to apply related laws and regulations to this case. Importers should use the Advance Ruling for Tariff Classification and should provide the latest information on their products to customs authorities. It is also essential for customs authorities to communicate through diversified information channels. The WCO and the WTO should take proper measures to ensure that IT products such as MCPs are classified in the ITA concession nomenclature. The ITA participants have failed to narrow the differences of their positions and as a result, ITA expansion negotiations are now on hold. To reach an agreement, a thorough study should be conducted on IT product classification disputes.

대만의 고급직업학교에 관한 연구

The purpose of this study is to analyze the Taiwan vocational high school and to find its implication for Korean vocational education. Because there are lots of similarities in system and social reality, it's not easy to find new implications for us. Taiwan vocational education has been carrying the important roles for archiving Taiwan's rapid economic development. On the view point of educational policy, Taiwan government is considering the roles of vocational education for the development of industry as important factors. In Taiwan, the ratio of vocational high school has been very high. But, the vocational high school is decreasing. The reason is the trend that most students and their parents want to go to college. Recently, Taiwan people are not considering the vocational high school as a terminal education. They have a goal to decreasing the ratio of vocational high from 70% to 50%. The authorities of Taiwan education is admitting the trends that the main stream is shifting from vocational high school to junior college. Especially, they have various paths to meet the needs of students and their parents.
