In this study, we investigated the antifibrotic effects of Rha on letrozole-induced PCOS in rats. Rha treatment restored letrozole-induced alterations in the body weight (BW), relative weights of the ovaries, and relative weights of uterine and visceral adipose tissues. Histological observation showed that Rha reduced the number of atretic follicles, cystic follicles, and fibrosis of the ovaries in the PCOS rats. Administration of Rha reduced letrozole-induced metabolic dysfunction by decreasing the serum levels of TG and TC and increasing the levels of HDL-C in the PCOS rats. Rha treatment also modulated the serum levels of sex hormones, which decreased the LH, E2 and T and increased the FSH in PCOS rats. Finally, Rha treatment appeared to increase the activity of PPAR-γ, reduce the activation of the TGF-β1/Smad pathway, and reduce the collagen I, α-SMA and CTGF levels in the ovaries of the PCOS rats. Our results demonstrated that Rha significantly ameliorated metabolic disturbances and ovarian fibrosis in the letrozole-induced PCOS rats. Rha may be an effective compound in preventing ovarian fibrosis in the future.

Nitroalkene derivatives of nitro-oleic acid(OA-NO2) regulate pluripotent cell signaling in vivo underphysiological and pathological conditions. Angiotensin IItype 1 receptor (AT1R) plays an important role in thecardiovascular system. In this study, OA-NO2 reduced theAT1R mRNA level, specifically in primary smooth musclecells, showing a 70% reduction in rat smooth muscle cells(RASMCs) and a 50% reduction in pig smooth musclecells (PASMCs). These effects were not observed in CHOcells, which highly express AT1R. The AT1R mRNA decayrate was unchanged after OA-NO2 compared with OAtreatment. Nitric oxide (NO) and peroxisome proliferatoractivatedreceptor gamma (PPARγ) did not alter thereduced effects of OA-NO2 on the AT1R mRNA level inSMCs. However, Sp1-mediated activation of the AT1Rpromoter was reduced in response to OA-NO2 in RASMCsbut not 293T cells. In addition, the nuclear factor-kappa B(NF-κB) pathway was involved in the OA-NO2-mediateddownregulation of AT1R transcription in SMCs. Takentogether, our results demonstrate that OA-NO2 specificallyinhibits AT1R mRNA expression in primary smooth musclecells via the NF-κB pathway.

Administration of SA reduced letrozole-induced metabolic dysfunction by decreasing the serum levels of triglyceride (TG) and total cholesterol (TC) and increasing the levels of high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) in PCOS rats. Finally, SA treatment appeared to increase the activity of PPAR-γ, reduce the activation of the TGF-β1/Smad pathway, and reduce the collagen I, α-SMA and CTGF levels in the ovaries of the PCOS rats. Our results demonstrated that SA significantly ameliorated ovarian fibrosis and abolic disturbances in the letrozole-induced PCOS rats.
Effects of naringin on fibrosis in a rats model with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS)

To observe the effect of naringin intervention and its ameliorating effect on ovarian fibrosis in letrozole induced POCS rats. SD rats were divided into normal, PCOS and naringin group. The body weight(BW) was recorded every 3 days. ELISA kits were used to measure serum levels of FSH, LH, E2, and T in PCOS rats. The levels of CollagenI, CTGF, α-SMA were detected by Western Blotting assay. The BW of PCOS rats were significantly increased than that in control group (P<0.05). Naringin treatment reduced the BW in PCOS rats. Compared with normal group, the serum level of E2 in PCOS group was decreased, and the serum T, LH, FSH, LH/FSH ratio levels were increased. However, administrated with naringin increased the serum E2 levels, and also decreased the serum levels of T, LH, FSH, LH/ FSH levels in PCOS rats. The protein levels of CollagenI, CTGF and α-SMA were increased in varian of PCOS rats than that in normal group. Naringin treatment was able to decrease the protein levels of CollagenI, CTGF and α-SMA in varian of PCOS rats.The results showed that naringin intervention could improve the metabolic imbalance and the occurrence of fibrosis in PCOS rats.
Investigation of plasma electrolytic oxidation process on AZ91D magnesium alloy

Ceramic coatings oxidized for different time periods were prepared to characterize the plasma electrolytic oxidation (PEO) process of AZ91D magnesium alloy. The coatings were analyzed using scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, X-ray photoelectron spectroscope and potentiodynamic polarization measurement. The results show that the PEO coatings perform different growth behaviors at different PEO stages, and different morphologies are exhibited on α- and β-phase of Mg substrate. The corrosion resistance measurement predicates that within the first 30 min oxidation, coating oxidized for 20 min is the best corrosion resistant. Grey Neural Network-Based Forecasting System for Vision-Guided Robot Trajectory Tracking

This paper presents a grey neural network-based forecasting system (GNNFS) in solving the prediction problem. GNNFS adopts a grey model to predict the signal and a neural network (NN) to forecast the prediction error of the grey model. A sequential batch learning (SBL) is developed to adjust the weights of the NN. The proposed GNNFS is applied to a binocular robot, called an Eye-Robot, for human-robot interaction which involved predicting the trajectory of a participant’s hand and tracking the hand. By applying the SBL, the GNNFS can gradually learn to predict the trajectory of the hand and track it well. The experimental results show that the GNNFS can carry out the SBL in real-time for vision-guided robot trajectory tracking.
