Syzygium, a vital genus under Myrtaceae, is aesthetically pleasing and resistant and is used for urban greenery. However, with intensive research in recent years, an increasing number of Syzygium plants have been explored for their medicinal value. Analysing the Syzygium chloroplast (cp) genome can help assess its phylogenetic relationships and provide a theoretical basis for the development and application of Syzygium plants. In this study, we first sequenced the complete cp genomes of Syzygium grijsii and Syzygium rehderianum to investigate their phylogenetic relationships in Myrtaceae. In the copy region and reverse repeat region, 129 genes were detected, including 84 protein-coding genes, 37 tRNA genes, and eight rRNA genes. Preference analysis showed that the eight Syzygium species preferred codons ending in A/U and contained abundant repetitive sequences and SSR sites. The ycf1, rpoC2, matK and ndhB genes had the most RNA editable sites and more genes with Ka/Ks < 1, indicating that species evolution was mainly subject to purifying selection. Comparative analysis of the cp genome showed that the eight species boundaries of Syzygium were similar, but the variability of the LSC and SSC regions was higher than that of the IR region, with 280 sites with Pi > 0.015, showing a high level of nucleotide diversity. Phylogenetic analysis showed that Syzygium grijsii was closely related to Syzygium jambos, and S. rehderianum was close to Plinia aureana. The cp genome and phylogeny of S. grijsii and S. rehderianum provide a theoretical basis for Syzygium species identification and exploitation.

The tight sandstone reservoir of the Donghetang Formation underwent complex diagenetic processes for which the controlling factors remain unknown. Here, we present a case study of the lower member of this formation and show that this part of the reservoir consists mostly of lithic quartz sandstone with poor physical characteristics. Using core observation, thin section identification, electronic microprobe, scanning electronic microscopy, X-ray diffraction, and inclusion fluorescence microscopy, we identified five major diagenetic processes: compaction, cementation, dissolution, metasomatism, and hydrocarbon charging. Compaction and cementation have negative effects on petrophysical properties (referred to porosity and permeability of sandstone in this paper), and dissolution improves these properties. Diagenesis is affected by the depositional environment, and clastic constituents control compaction and dissolution; burial history and the geotemperature field control diagenesis at the macroscopic scale, while hydrocarbon charging affects the degree of cementation and dissolution. As oil saturation increases, the percentage of calcareous cements decreases and the development of secondary dissolved pores improves.

Hanbing Shen,곽경섭,Weihua Zhang 한국전자통신연구원 2007 ETRI Journal Vol.29 No.5
In this letter, we propose a cognitive ultrawideband radio scheme which is based on a modified chirp waveform. Therefore, it requires only time domain processing in the cognitive radio systems and reduces system complexity and power consumption.
DS-PAM UWB System Using Non-linear Chirp Waveform
Hanbing Shen,곽경섭,Weihua Zhang,Xizhi An 한국전자통신연구원 2007 ETRI Journal Vol.29 No.3
We propose a direct-sequence pulse-amplitude modulation (DS-PAM) ultra-wideband (UWB) system which employs a non-linear chirp waveform instead of the conventional Gaussian monocycle in this paper. In the approved frequency for UWB, there exist myriad narrowband interferers. Specifically, we focus on the mutual interference between UWB systems and 802.11a WLAN. This paper offers a method to suppress this in-band narrowband interference by introducing a kind of non-linear chirp waveform. Using the proposed non-linear chirp waveform, the effects of one or more narrowband interference sources with different frequencies can be suppressed. System performance of UWB systems in the narrowband interference environment can be improved. Computer simulations with additive white Gaussian noise successfully demonstrate an increase in performance with the proposed system as compared to traditional linear chirp systems.
M-ary Chirp UWB System using CR Techniques
Hanbing Shen,Weihua Zhang,Kyung Sup Kwak 대한전자공학회 2007 ITC-CSCC :International Technical Conference on Ci Vol.2007 No.7
In this paper, we propose a modified multi-band chirp scheme in the M-ary pulse shape modulation (PSM) UWB system. The initial waveforms for the system are traditional linear chirp waveforms. When the narrowband interference (NBI) is detected, non-linear chirp is adopted in the sub-band where interference exists, the affect of the NBI thus can be reduced in some extend. Therefore, cognitive UWB radio can be realized by the proposed scheme. We discuss the design method of proposed scheme and compare it with the traditional chirp scheme by simulation. The results show that the proposed scheme can outperform the traditional chirp scheme.

Hanbing Shen,Weihua Zhang,곽경섭 한국전자통신연구원 2007 ETRI Journal Vol.29 No.4
In this letter, we analyze an ultra-wideband ranging system based on non-linear chirp waveforms with the ability of narrowband interference suppression. A number of non-linear chirp waveforms are proposed and evaluated by simulation. The results verify that the proposed schemes can suppress the Narrowband interference to a certain degree.

M-ary Bi-orthogonal Modulation UWB with Narrowband Interference Suppression Capability
Weihua Zhang,Hanbing Shen,Jong Ok Joo,곽경섭 한국전자통신연구원 2008 ETRI Journal Vol.30 No.1
An M-ary bi-orthogonal modulation scheme for ultra-wideband (UWB) systems capable of narrowband interference (NBI) suppression is proposed in this letter. We utilize a set of bi-orthogonal pulse series to achieve NBI suppression. Through analysis and simulation, we verify that the proposed scheme can suppress NBIs effectively.
Robust estimation for a general functional single index model via quantile regression
Zhu Hanbing,Zhang Riquan,Liu Yanghui,Ding Hui 한국통계학회 2022 Journal of the Korean Statistical Society Vol.51 No.4
This paper studies the estimation of a general functional single index model, in which the conditional distribution of the response depends on the functional predictor via a functional single index structure. We find that the slope function can be estimated consistently by the estimation obtained by fitting a misspecified functional linear quantile regression model under some mild conditions. We first obtain a consistent estimator of the slope function using functional linear quantile regression based on functional principal component analysis, and then employ a local linear regression technique to estimate the conditional quantile function and establish the asymptotic normality of the resulting estimator for it. The finite sample performance of the proposed estimation method is studied in Monte Carlo simulations, and is illustrated by an application to a real dataset.
