A Study on Re-adhesion Control of Urban Railway Vehicle

In order to control the maximum tractive effort, adhesion coefficients were estimated by velocity sensorless vector control and load torque disturbance observers. The anti-slip algorithm controls motor torque to have the estimated adhesive effort which remain steady at the maximum adhesive effort by PI torque controlling the differentiated values of estimated adhesion coefficients. To realize this control algorithm, 1C1M(1-Controller 1-Motor) railway simulator which allows easy load distribution and slip control was used to simulate the proposed algorithm. And the algorithm was proven by tests.

Recently, the electrom agnetic (EM ) p u m p has been w idely used for cooling th e h ig h th e rm a l power system such as nuclear reactors because it has m an y ad vanta g e of th e lower pressure loss, absence of m oving components, an d allow ance of continuous flu id flow com pared w ith th e conventional m echanical p u m p (i.e., a ce ntrifug al p u m p ). The basic o p eratin g p rin ciple of E M pum ps is th a t in the presence of a n ex ternal m ag ne tic field, the in te ra c tio n betw een the electrical current an d transverse m ag ne tic fields results in Lorentz forces th ro u g h an electrically conducting liq u id m etal. This is th e d o m a in of m agneto-hydrodynam ics (M H D ). In the present study, the tran sp o rt phenom ena in the E M p u m p w hich is formed a rec tang ular chann el are in vestig ated by usin g the C F D technology. As the results of s im u la tio n , the follow ing conclusions are o b ta in e d ; It is found th a t th e typical M -shaped velocity profiles in the chann el for liq u id m etal can be ob tain ed due to th e Lorentz force w hich is produced by bo th the m agnetic field an d current density. The average velocity a n d pressure drop in the E M p u m p chann el are increased, sim ultan e o usly , as th e m ag ne tic field an d curre nt density increase and, in tu rn , more p u m p in g power can be predicted by the influence of them .

As a drive system for next generation train, we have been making research and development of a direct drive traction motor system without the conventional reduction gear. This traction motor is expected to have many advantages such as low noise, reduced maintenance, and energy saving. Due to the demand for high-output motors in the limited space between the wheels, open-ventilating traction motors with gear box have been widely used for many years. However, a conventional open-ventilating traction motor is necessary periodical disassembly to remove the accumulated dust from open-air ventilation. Reducing this burden, as well as increasing energy efficiency and reducing noise, would benefit the next generation of traction motors. To address these needs, KRRI have been developing a fully enclosed type direct drive motor(DDM) with high-efficiency permanent magnet for the next generation train.

The control method of programmable dynamometer for overall test of machine is to load the reference torque which is computed from torque transducer into motor under test. But the torque information detected from torque transducer have a lot of noise when the load torque of moter is a small quantity or changing. Thus, torque transducer must have a low pass filter to detect a definite torque information. But The torque delay generated by filter with torque transducer occur a torque trouble for moter torque of programmable dynamometer. Therefore, this kind of system could not perform dynamic and nonlinear load. In this paper, the control method using the load torque observer without a measure for torque transducer is proposed. The proposed system improved the problem of the torque measuring delay with torque transducer, and the load torque is estimated by the minimal order state observer based on the torque component of the vector control induction moter. Therefore, the torque controller is not affected by a load torque disturbance.

In the braking process of rolling stocks, the equivalent braking force is applied to the all bogies. However, the load applied to the front and rear bogie are different in the actual commercial traveling. In the case, since the different slip situation is occurred in each bogie, it is essential to use the independent anti-slip control per bogie unit in order to reduce the loss of braking force. In this paper, the mathematical modeling about bogie unit braking is proposed and verified.
