This study explored the effects of second-level agenda setting through visual framing on portal sites during the 2012 Korean presidential campaign. To examine how the political bias of digital news affected visual images of candidates, two major portal sites, most online newspapers, and diverse visual attributes were adopted. The data sample (n = 625) focused on the photographs of Park Geun- Hye as a conservative candidate and Moon Jae-In as a progressive. The results demonstrated that Park’s photographs were most positively covered in conservative online newspapers in the conservative portal, while Moon’s photographs were most favorably covered in progressive online newspapers in the progressive portal. These results show that portal sites serve as not only news aggregators and providers, but also as online gatekeepers.
Evaluation of Tool Life in the Dry Machining of Inconel 718 Parts from Additive Manufacturing (AM)
Eunju Park,Dong Min Kim,Hyung Wook Park,Young-Bin Park,Namhun Kim 한국정밀공학회 2020 International Journal of Precision Engineering and Vol.21 No.1
The need for developing sustainable manufacturing processes are more and more increasing due to environmental regulations that are introduced worldwide. In the field of manufacturing metallic parts, the dry machining process is the effective way to reduce the costs of production and to avoid harm in environment and human health. Especially, Inconel 718 parts, which is very popular in aerospace, chemical, and nuclear industries, produced with additive manufacturing require a finishing process for quality assurance to rough and porous surfaces after printing process. Generally, machining of difficult-to cut materials such as Inconel 718 need the cutting fluids to improve the surface integrity and tool life. The present work investigates the effect of microstructure life of the Inconel 718 part produced by additive manufacturing on the tool compared with the wrought Inconel 718 part during the dry machining. The experimental findings show that the tool life of the Inconel 718 from AM is increased due to the melt pool microstructure formed by the laser irradiation though the hardness is higher than the wrought Inconel 718. Abrasive wear is strongly affected to tool life of the Inconel 718 from AM while adhesive and fracture wear is mostly found in the tool of wrought Inconel 718.

Eunju Ko,Jihye Yu,Sanghyun Park,Eunyoung Park,Junghwan Lee,Soyoung Park,Yaewon Park,Kyunghoon Kim,Juil Song,Jungyoon Cho 글로벌지식마케팅경영학회 2023 Global Marketing Conference Vol.2023 No.07
Recently, there has been an increase in human casualties and property damage caused by large-scale disasters such as massive wildfires, concentrated heavy rainfall, chemical accidents, and infectious diseases. To enhance the citizen protection capabilities of civil defense personnel, it is necessary to ensure their capacity to perform on-site citizen protection duties and guarantee their safety. Particularly, the current civil defense uniforms are vulnerable to fire and waterproofing, and the safety is threatened when civil defense personnel perform field activities such as fire and flood damage. Therefore, there is an urgent need for research and development of civil defense uniforms to ensure functionality and safety. In this study, we aim to understand the duties of domestic civil defense units and the characteristics of on-site situations, analyze overseas civil defense uniform replication cases, and derive safety criteria for civil defense uniforms. Developing civil defense uniforms based on safety and functional criteria is expected to enhance civil defense personnel's capabilities and increase public welfare by deriving optimal performance for each mission.
Antioxidant and antigenotoxic effect of dairy products supplemented with red ginseng extract
Park, Hanyeong,Lee, Minhee,Kim, Kee-Tae,Park, Eunju,Paik, Hyun-Dong Elsevier 2018 Journal of dairy science Vol.101 No.10
<P>The purpose of this study was to evaluate the antioxidant and antigenotoxic effect of dairy products milk (M) and yogurt (Y) after the addition of 2% red ginseng extract to milk (RM) and to yogurt (RY). Total phenolic content, total flavonoid content, 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl radical scavenging activity, oxygen radical absorbance capacity, and total radical trapping antioxidant potential were determined in the samples. Furthermore, antigenotoxic effect of samples was measured, using cornet assay in human leukocytes. Total phenolic content and total flavonoid content of RM [38.3 +/- 0.8 mg of gallic acid equivalents (GAE)/100 g, 23.6 +/- 0.1 mg of quercetin equivalents (QE)/100 g] and RY (41.1 +/- 0.9 mg of CAE/100 g, 18.7 +/- 0.1 mg of QE/100 g), respectively, were higher than those of M (6.31 +/- 0.2 mg of GAE/100 g, 10.4 +/- 0.1 mg of QE/100 g) and Y (8.1 +/- 0.9 mg of GAE/100 g, 8.4 +/- 0.2 mg of QE/100 g), respectively. The 2,2-diphenyl-l-picrylhydrazyl radical scavenging activity and oxygen radical absorbance capacity values increased significantly after the addition of 2% red ginseng in both. Additionally, the total radical trapping antioxidant potential in RM (787.7 +/- 7.0 mu g/mL) was lower than in M (2074.0 +/- 28.4 mu g/mL). The H2O2-induced DNA damage in RY (0.1 +/- 0.0 mg/mL) was less than the damage in Y (0.4 +/- 0.0 mg/mL), but we found no significant difference between M and RM. This study indicates that supplementation with red ginseng can fortify the antioxidant and antigenotoxic effects of dairy products effectively.</P>
Purification and Characterization of Arylphorin of the Chinese Oak Silkmoth, Antheraea pernyi
Park, Snag-Bong,Kim, Jeong-Wha,Kim, Soohyun,Park, Nam-Sook,Jin, Byung-Rae,Hwang, Jae-Sam,Seong, Su-Il,Lee, Bong-Hee,Park, Eunju Korean Society of Sericultural Science 2003 International Journal of Industrial Entomology Vol.6 No.1
The arylphorin was purified from the pupal haemolymph of the Chinese oak silkmoth, Antheraea pernyi, and characterized physiologically and biochemically, The protein was purified by a simple preparative polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (PAGE) and subsequent diffusive elution. The preparation was shown to be homogeneous by 7.5% native-PAGE. The native molecular weight of arylphorin was 450 kDa with a 80 kDa single subunit, suggesting hexamer, The protein contained high amounts (18.3%) of aromatic amino acids, phenylalanine (9.7%) and tyrosine (8.6%). Therefore, the protein was identified as a kind of a storage protein referred to as an arylphorin. The protein was stained by Schiff's reagent, suggesting a glycoprotein. The protein contained 4.9% (w/w) sugar and mannose and N-acetylglucosamine were major components. Also, degradation of the protein was begun by heat treatment at 90 for 20 minutes. These results showed that the A. pernyi arylphorin in the study is hexamer associated with the six subunits consisting of a 80kDa single subunit, and is different from that of Kajiura et al. (1998) in the subunit composition.

We describe here the complete nucleotide sequence and the exon-intron structure of the Cu,Zn superoxide dismutase (SOD1) gene of Paecilomyces tenuipes and Paecilomyces sp. The SOD1 gene of P. tenuipes spans 966 bp, and consisted of three introns and four exons coding for 154 amino acid residues. Three unambiguous introns in P. tenuipes separate exons of 13, 332, 97, and 20 bp, all exhibiting exon sizes identical to Cordyceps militaris SOD1 gene. The SOD1 gene of Paecilomyces sp. contains 946 bp and consisted of four introns and five exons coding for 154 amino acid residues. Five exons of Paecilomyces sp. SOD1 are composed of 13, 180, 152, 97, and 20 bp. Interestingly, this result showed that the total length of exons 2 (180 bp) and 3 (152 bp) of Paecilomyces sp. SOD1 is same to exon 2 length (332 bp) of C. militaris SOD1 and P. tenuipes SOD1. The deduced amino acid sequence of the P. tenuipes SOD1 showed $95\%$ identity to C. militaris SOD1 and $78\%$ to Paecilomyces sp. SOD1. Phylogenetic analysis confirmed that the C. militaris SOD1, P. tenuipes SOD1 and Paecilomyces sp. SOD1 are placed together within the ascomycetes group of fungal clade.

Images represent a large share of web site contents. Image contents allow users to perceive information using vision, but visually handicapped people cannot perceive the information unless substitute texts that can replace vision are provided. Therefore, in this paper, the Web accessibility compliance status was compared between domestic and overseas sites around their compliance with substitute texts for images. The results indicate that the general Web accessibility compliance rates of domestic and overseas websites have not increased compared to 2013. However, the compliance with substitute texts for images in domestic sites was found to be continuously increasing, whereas it decreased in overseas sites.
