        Developing an Overseas Field Practicum for Pre-Service Japanese Teachers from Korea

        본고는 프로젝트에 기초한 개발 연구이다. 여러 해 동안 개발학 분야에서 이용되어 왔던 연구수법이지만, 본론에서는 대학교육에서의 일본어교원 양성 과정의 커리큘럼 연구에 응용했다. 본고의 목적은 본지 제27집(2012)에 필자가 개재한 말레이시아에서 의 교육실습 평가 프로그램에 관한 논문에 대하여, 그 성립 과정의 경위에 대한 문의 가 있어, 이를 밝히고자 함에 있다. 또한, 프로젝트 성립과정에 관한 선행연구를 조사 한 결과, 유럽과 미국에서 개발된 프로젝트에 기초한 개발 연구가 가장 합당한 연구 수단이라는 결론에 이르렀다. 필자는 프로젝트 개발을 커리큘럼 개발에 적용하여 실 시하기 시작한 2009년도부터 작년도까지의 경위를 밝히고 그 변화에 대하여 논리적인 정합성을 취하고 있었는가에 대한 분석을 시도했다. 그에 따라 모든 학문분야에서 가 장 중요한 연구의 재현성을 구현하고, 본 연구를 참조함에 따라 보다 용이하게 벤치 마킹을 할 수 있을 것이다. 본고는 급격하게 저출산이 진행되고 있어 교원의 길이 좁아지는 가운데, 중국, 특 히 영어권에 서 교육실습을 행함으로 경쟁력을 향상시키고, 나아가 다문화화가 진행 되는 한국 사정에도 대응 가능한 차세대형 교원 양성 과정의 파일럿 모델을 제언한다.

        韓国大学教育における「国際サービスㆍラーニング」導入への一試み

        This study aims to explore a possibility of implementation of “Service-Learning” program into the Korean University curriculum. To do so, the author took some Korean university students to Malaysia and organized a volunteer project in July 2009. In the middle of the project, the participants were asked for producing their “reflection paper” and drew what impressed them the most during the stay. The data collected has been categorized into three different groups such as positive descriptions, negative descriptions and others, and analysed in order to find the experiences which made impacts on them. It allows authors to find the ones led them to some rare overseas “learning experiences”. On top of that, some descriptions, which are able to connect with a reparation program as well as a post-session evaluation program for the next project. It can be said that the result may illuminate the possibility of implementation of Service-Learning program into the Korean university curriculum.

        内側を向く日本の若者

        A lot of mass-medias have discussed the tendency of insuring among the young people in Japan these days. This article explores the level of this phenomenon in the 2nd year engineering students of a state university near Tokyo. The research consists of two different parts. The first part employs a set of questioners, which ask theire xperience of travelling outside Japan and the future possibilities of working for Japanese companies and non-Japanese companies in Japan as well as the ones outside Japan. The second part is the text analys on their writing after my lesson, which introduced the case of a Korean university and my own experience in Africa. This research reveals that the students in the university are extremely insuring and the awareness of the Korean cases and Africa did not make a huge impact on many students. However, few students started breaking their own barriers and tried to be the ones who act globally.

        Pulmonary alveolar hemorrhage from a pulmonary artery false aneurysm after Swan-Ganz catheterization in a thoracic aortic aneurysm patient -a case report-

        Pulmonary artery (PA) rupture caused by a PA Swan-Ganz catheter is a rare complication but remains fatal in almost50% of cases. False aneurysm of the PA is a rare presentation of PA rupture and should be considered as a possible diagnosisin a patient with a new lung mass after PA catheterization. We present a case of sudden-onset pulmonary alveolarhemorrhage during cardiovascular surgery due to a traumatic PA false aneurysm. The Swan-Ganz catheter might havebeen displaced by the thoracic aortic aneurysm with displacement of the catheter causing the false aneurysm and bleeding.

      • Characteristics of Debris Flow that Occurred in the Slope Where It was not Recognized that Sediment Disasters may Occur during Heavy Rains in West Japan in July 2018

        A heavy rainfall in July 2018 caused sediment disasters in West Japan. In this disaster, some debris flow were occured on slopes that were not recognized the potential of the occurence of sediment disasters. In this report, based on the results of the sediment disaster emergency survey conducted in several cities in West Japan, we will report the distribution and examples of slopes where these disasters occurred. In addition, regarding the occurrence of debris flow, the features related to topography and weather were examined. In Japan, the hazards of sediment disasters are recognized based on whether the topography of the slope has the same conditions as the topography of sediment disasters that occurred in the past. In this report, we focused on the debris flow occured on the slope that was not recognized as a valley where the debris flow occurs(the valley depth is wider than the valley width). As a result of this survey, we were able to understand the characteristics of the debris flow that occurred at a slope that was not recognized dangerous of sediment disaster. We believe that this report will help improve the warning and evacuation system for future sediment disasters in Japan.

        Human alpha 1-acid glycoprotein as a model protein for glycoanalysis in baculovirus expression vector system

        Glycosylation is an important post-translational modification that confers various biological activities, structural stability, and inter-molecular interactions to proteins. Baculovirus expression vector system (BEVS) is widely used to produce recombinant glycoproteins, which may not be suitable for clinical use due to differences in the N-linked glycan structure between insects and mammals. It is necessary to develop an appropriate model protein-base platform for glycoanalysis to engineer the insect-type N-glycosylation pathway into human type efficiently. In this study,we employed human plasma protein alpha 1-acid glycoprotein (α1AGP). Itwas highly secreted from cultured silkworm cells and larvae when using the BEVS and glycosylated with insect type N-linked glycans. Interestingly, when separated on SDS-PAGE, the purified recombinant α1AGP secreted into silkworm haemolymph generated six distinct products from three alternative translates, suggesting that α1AGP has variations for the recognition or choice of glycosylation sites.

      • Characteristics of Sediment Disasters that Occurred in Japan in Recent Years

        In recent years, sediment disasters have been frequent in Japan triggered by heavy rainfall at typhoons and line-shaped rain band. When conducting a disaster survey, it is necessary to determine at first where the disaster is occurring and where the damage is large. In the case of sediment disasters that distribute wide area, it is effective to use aerial photograph to understand the disaster situation. We researched the characteristics of three cases of sediment disasters that occurred in Japan in recent years based on the result of the interpretation of aerial photographs taken just after disasters, and the detailed examination of field survey. The target sediment disasters are Typhoon No10 on August 2016, heavy rainfall in northern Kyusyu in July 2017, and West Japan heavy rainfall 2018. We report the characteristics of each sediment disaster from these results. These sediment disasters occurred in various types because the conditions under which these sediment disasters occurred were different, such as region, topography, geology, and rainfall. Understanding the differences of sediment disasters by region is considered to be important in order to reduce the damage caused by sediment disasters, such as the construction of erosion control facilities and the maintenance of a warning and evacuation system.

        Characteristics of Riverbed Configuration Affected by River-crossing Structures

        In the middle reaches of gravel-bed rivers, the formation of alternate or linguoid bars provides a diverse microhabitat for many kinds of creatures, much as with riffle pools and dry riverbed areas. The riverbed configuration, however, is completely altered by river-crossing structures, such as weirs or drop structures, installed in a river channel. In this study, both a large river and a small stream that have many river-crossing structures were targeted, and the characteristic feature of the topography in a river channel was investigated. Consequently, there was clarification that a similar pattern of topography was created in both rivers. The elevation gap between the bank and the riverbed was largest just downstream of a river-crossing structure but decreased in the flow direction and disappeared upstream of the next structure. Contrastingly, the width of the low-flow channel was narrowest just downstream of a river-crossing structure and gradually increased in the flow direction. The implication was that the longitudinal profile of the bank was determined by significant past floods and the low-flow channel was gradually created by small floods afterwards. Based on these results, we conclude that a change of river-crossing structure height is effective to manage the floodplain for habitat control, and the installation of large boulder is also effective to restore the low-flow channel.

        Acetabular Morphology in Patients with Developmental Dysplasia of the Hip with High Dislocation

        Purpose: The current study aimed to investigate the morphology of the true acetabulum in developmental dysplasia of the hip (DDH) with high dislocation. A secondary was to evaluate the acetabular cup placement in patients with high dislocation who were treated with total hip arthroplasty (THA). Materials and Methods: Using a retrospective design, 23 hips with DDH with high dislocation in patients who were treated with THA were included in this study. We measured the depth, width and thickness of the anterior and posterior walls of the original acetabulum using preoperative computed tomography images and investigated the cup size applied in these cases. Results: The mean depth and width of the acetabulum was 18.4 and 16.2 mm proximal end, 18.4 and 24.3 mm in the middle, and 15.8 and 27.6 mm at the distal part. Mean thickness of the anterior and posterior walls was 10.9 and 23.9 mm at the proximal end, 10.3 and 22.2 mm in the middle, and 10.9 and 22.7 mm at the distal part. A 42-mm cup was using in one hip, a 46-mm cup in three hips, a 48-mm cup in 13 hips, and a 50-mm cup in six hips. Conclusion: In patients with Crowe IV DDH, the morphology of the acetabulum comprises a triangle that broadens from proximal to distal points, with a relatively thick posterior wall. Reaming the acetabulum posteriorly and inferiorly may enable the placement of a relatively larger cup to achieve stable fixation.

      • Target-Composition Effect on Hydroxyapatite Thin Films Coated on Titanium by r.f. Sputtering

        Using calcium-phosphate-powder targets with the Ca/P ratios of 1.0-1.67, hydroxyapatite ($Ca_{10}(PO_4)_6(OH)_2$, HAp) thin films with 4-7㎛ thickness were prepared on titanium metal plates by r.f. magnetron sputtering, followed an annealing at $200^{\circ}C$ for 24 hr under a high water vapor pressure using an autoclave. All the specimens were systematically characterized by XRD, FT-IR, SEM and EDS analyses. The post-annealed films were confirmed to be a nonstoichiometric oxyhydroxyapatite by XRD and FT-IR measurements.
