In this paper, we consider the finite form of the continued fraction found in the unorganized material, Entry 9 [2], and give the sum of n terms. We give the n th convergent series in two ways-one by simple expansion and the other by using partition theory.

This paper is based on experiments conducted on a stationary, four stroke, naturally aspirated air cooled, single cylinder compression ignition engine coupled with an electrical swinging field dynamometer. Instead of 100% diesel, 20% Jatropha oil methyl ester with 80% diesel blend was injected directly in engine beside 25% pre-mixed charge of diesel in mixing chamber and with 20% exhaust gas recirculation. The performance and emission characteristics are compared with conventional 100% diesel injection in main chamber. The blend with diesel premixed charge with and without exhaust gas recirculation yields in reduction of oxides of nitrogen and particulate matter. Adverse effects are reduction of brake thermal efficiency, increase of unburnt hydrocarbons (UBHC), carbon monoxide (CO) and specific energy consumption. UBHC and CO emissions are higher with Diesel Premixed Combustion Ignition (DPMCI) mode compared to compression ignition direct injection (CIDI) mode. Percentage increases in UBHC and CO emissions are 27% and 23.86%, respectively compared to CIDI mode. Oxides of nitrogen (NOx) and soot emissions are lower and the percentage decrease with DPMCI mode are 32% and 33.73%, respectively compared to CIDI mode.

Eu3+ doped Gd2O3 nanotubes have been synthesized using multi wall carbon nanotubes as removable templates by employing a liquid phase deposition method. The prepared Eu3+ doped Gd2O3 nanotubes were characterized by means of x-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive x-ray spectroscopy, fourier transform infrared sepctroscopy and thermogravimetry and differential thermal analysis. XRD patterns conrm the cubic phase of Eu3+ doped Gd2O3 nanotubes. From the measured SEM images,the average diameter of the Eu3+: Gd2O3 nanotubes were estimated to be in the range of 50-70 nm. The photoluminescence analysis revealed that the Eu3+: Gd2O3 nanotubes can display a strong red emission peak at around 616 nm, due to the 5D0→7F2 electric dipole transition of Eu3+ ions. Such luminescent powders are expected to find potential applications in fluorescent lamps and display device applications.
Partial second order mock theta functions, their expansions and Pad\'e approximants

By proving a summation formula, we enumerate the expan-sions for the mock theta functions of order 2 in terms of partial mocktheta functions of order 2, 3 and 6. We show a relation between Ramanu-jan's(q)-function and his sixth order mock theta functions. In addition,we also give the continued fraction representation for(q) and 2nd ordermock theta functions and Pade approximants.

Background/Aims: Existing therapeutic options for complicated Crohn’s disease (CD) like biologics and surgery are limited by inadequate long-term efficacy, cost, and adverse effects. Tissue hypoxia is important in CD pathogenesis and may be ameliorated with hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT). We assessed the efficacy and tolerability of HBOT in small bowel stricturing CD. Methods: This pilot study included patients of small bowel stricturing CD (from April 2019 to January 2020) who underwent HBOT. These patients were refractory to conventional medical treatment or had multiple strictures not amenable to resection. Each session of HBOT was given for 60 minutes with a pressure of 1.5-2.5 atm. Clinical, biochemical responses and Short Inflammatory Bowel Disease (SIBD) questionnaire were evaluated at 2 and 6 months, and radiological response was evaluated at 6 months. Results: Fourteen patients (mean age, 42.9±15.7 years; male, 50%) were subjected to 168 HBOT sessions. Thirteen patients (92.7%) had strictures and 1 patient had enterocutaneous fistula in addition. Median number of HBOT sessions was 11 (range, 3-20) which were administered over a median of 4 weeks. Most patients tolerated it well except 1 who had hemotympanum. At 2 and 6 months of follow-up, 64.2% of patients had a clinical response, 50% and 64.2% of patients had clinical remission respectively. Steroid-free clinical remission was seen in 8 (57%) of patients with radiological improvement in 50%. There was a significant improvement in SIBD scores at 2-month follow-up (59.4 vs. 44.5, P=0.03). Conclusions: HBOT can be a safe and effective therapeutic option in patients with stricturing small bowel CD refractory to conventional medical treatment. (Intest Res 2022;20:231-239)
Particle Stabilized Wet Foam to Prepare SiO<sub>2</sub>-SiC Porous Ceramics by Colloidal Processing

Porous ceramics with tailored pore size and shape are promising materials for the realization of a number of functional and structural properties. A novel method has been reported for the investigation of the role of SiC in the formation of $SiO_2$ foams by colloidal wet processing. Within a suitable pH range of 9.9 ~ 10.5 $SiO_2$, particles were partially hydrophobized using hexylamine as an amphiphile. Different mole ratios of the SiC solution were added to the surface modified $SiO_2$ suspension. The contact angle was found to be around $73^{\circ}$, with an adsorption free energy $6.8{\times}10^{-12}J$. The Laplace pressure of about 1.25 ~ 1.6 mPa was found to correspond to a wet foam stability of about 80 ~ 85%. The mechanical and thermal properties were analyzed for the sintered ceramics, with the highest compressive load observed at the mole ratio of 1:1.75. Hertzian indentations are used to evaluate the damage behavior under constrained loading conditions of $SiO_2$-SiC porous ceramics.
A comprehensive study of second order mock theta functions

We consider the second order mock theta functions defined by McIntosh and dene generalized functions. We give integralrepresentation and multibasic expansion of these functions. We alsoshow that they are F_q-functions.
