Analysis of the Interests of Conceiving a Free Trade Agreement between China and South Korea
Liu Zuankuo,Zhan Baiming 한국무역연구원 2013 The International Academy of Global Business and T Vol.9 No.2
Based on the “Starting Joint Minister Statement on free trade agreement between China and South Korea”, the article explains the basic ideas of this agreement. It shows that there are some distinctive differences between the statement and the theoretical study on interests. China pays more attention to the diplomatic significance rather than in trade. While South Korea aims to guarantee its investment benefits by this agreement, both stations try to protect their producers’ benefits. Finally, this paper using the model GTAP (Global Trade Analysis Project), puts forward two sets of simulation schemes and forecasts the economic effects of the Free Trade Zones from the macroeconomics and welfare effects, trade effects and industry effects.

Myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) and myelodysplastic/myeloproliferative neoplasms (MDS/MPN) are bone marrow disorders characterized by cytopenias and progression to acute myeloid leukemia. Hypomethylating agents (HMAs) are Food and Drug Administration-approved therapies for MDS and MDS/MPN patients. HMAs have improved patients’ survival and quality of life when compared with other therapies. Although HMAs are effective in MDS and MDS/MPN patients, they are associated with significant toxicities that place a large burden on patients. Our goal is to develop a safer and more effective HMA from natural products. We previously reported that black raspberries (BRBs) have hypomethylating effects in the colon, blood, spleen, and bone marrow of mice. In addition, BRBs exert hypomethylating effects in patients with colorectal cancer and familial adenomatous polyposis. In the current study, we conducted a pilot clinical trial to evaluate the hypomethylating effects of BRBs in patients with low-risk MDS or MDS/MPN. Peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) were isolated before and after three months of BRB intervention. CD45+ cells were isolated from PBMCs for methylation analysis using a reduced-representation bisulfite sequencing assay. Each patient served as their own matched control, with their measurements assessed before intervention providing a baseline for post-intervention results. Clinically, our data showed that BRBs were well-tolerated with no side effects. When methylation data was combined, BRBs significantly affected methylation levels of 477 promoter regions. Pathway analysis suggests that BRB-induced intragenic hypomethylation drives leukocyte differentiation. A randomized, placebo-controlled clinical trial of BRB use in low-risk MDS or MDS/ MPN patients is warranted.

This study was done for the purpose of analyzing the relationship between menopausal symptoms and depression. Data were collected by a questionnaire from November 28 to December 30, 1995. The subjects were 134 women between 40-61 years of age. The instruments used for this study were The Menopausal symptom scale by Neugartom and Depression scale by Zung. The results of the study were as follows. 1. Mean score of menopausal symptoms was 1.59. Mean score orders of experienced symptoms were "Rack pain and joint pain"(2.02), "General weakness"(1.98), "Nervousness"(1.96). The most serious menopausal symptom was psychosomatic symptom.(1.88) Total score orders of experienced symptoms was 27.9 and over 90.3% of women complained menopausal symptom. 2. Mean score orders of depression was 39.13. It was normal range of depression. 85.1% of the women were normal range of depression and 14.2% of women mild depression. 3. The relationship between menopausal symptoms and depression was statistically significant(r=0.5307, p=0.000). When the relationship among three dimensions of menopausal symptoms were explored the psychosomatic symptom(r=0.4090, P=0.000), Physical symptom(r=0.319, P=0.000), Physical symptom(r=0.319, P=0.000) were statistically significant. 4. General characteristic variables were significantly related to the level of menopausal symptoms as follows ; environment of living(F=2.89, p=0.038), religion(F=4.18, P=0.007), times of birth(F=2.66, p=0.043). The analysis of this study have implication for management of middle aged women's health, to solve the nursing problems, and to prevent and relieve climacteric symptoms.
