        미기록종을 포함한 지리산의 선상 (蘚相)

Chi I with some new additions to theKorean flora. Kor. Jour. Bot. 4(2), 41-50. 1961 1. This study was made on te flora of mosses on Mt. Chi 1(127˚26`-35` E.Long. 35˚12`-25` N.Lat) 2. In the list of mosses of Mt. Chi 1. 126 species, 6 varieties, and 1 form belongig to 79 genera are enumerated. Of these the following 14 taxa are new to te Korean flora.       • 中國共産黨 生成의 史的背景

        The purpose of this paper is to study how the Chinese Communist Party was generated and grew up in the course of the development of the Chinese Nationalistic Movement started vis-a-vis the Western powers' invasion of the continent of China following the Opium War. The Nationalistic Movement in modern China was basically characterized by its having grown up under the combined suppression of the foreign, that is, Western powers and the domestic ruling power of the Ching dynasty. The main task of the Chinese Nationalistic Movement within this basic frame was, therefore, who would build up the national independence, how it should be done, and what values should be aimed at in doing so. Seeing the historical changes in this perspective, we find that the Chinese Nationalistic Movement went through the Movement of Europeanizing and the Reform Movement, and with its basis on the critical consciousness gradually upsurging among Chinese people aimed consequently to turn down the Western powers' invasion and break down the pre-modern domestic ruling order. These basic aims are ideologically evidenced by the New Culture Movement developed in the course of political changes after the Revolution of 1911. In the ideological basis of the New Culture Movement was found its trust in and longing for Western powers in the sense that the movement, while essentially criticizing the various values of traditional Confucianism, tried to overcome a national crisis by accepting the Western democracy and scientific attitudes. The May Fourth Movement, however, marked the starting point for the Chinese Nationalistic Movement to turn its attention to the Russian Revolutionary Government, and through its intermediary the concern for Marxism augmented to bring about the confrontational controversy of ideologies in the nationalistic campaign. During this confrontation Marxist circles were formed in many places of China in 1920, the Communist Party was founded in 1921, and finally the continent of China was communized through the first and second leagues of Kuomintang and Communist. This result basically came from the fact that the Chinese intellectuals, though conscientious and patriotic, was relatively ignorant of the strategies and tactics of the so-called "United front" adbocated by the Chinese Communist Party.

        Nuclear Pore Complex Protein Sequences Determine Overall Copolymer Brush Structure and Function

        The transport of cargo across the nuclear membrane is highly selective and accomplished by a poorly understood mechanism involving hundreds of nucleoporins lining the inside of the nuclear pore complex (NPC). Currently, there is no clear picture of the overall structure formed by this collection of proteins within the pore, primarily due to their disordered nature. We perform coarse-grained simulations of both individual nucleoporins and grafted rings of nups mimicking the in vivo geometry of the NPC and supplement this with polymer brush modeling. Our results indicate that different regions or blocks of an individual NPC protein can have distinctly different forms of disorder and that this property appears to be a conserved functional feature. Furthermore, this block structure at the individual protein level is critical to the formation of a unique higher-order polymer brush architecture that can exist in distinct morphologies depending on the effective interaction energy between the phenylalanine glycine (FG) domains of different nups. Because the interactions between FG domains may be modulated by certain forms of transport factors, our results indicate that transitions between brush morphologies could play an important role in regulating transport across the NPC, suggesting novel forms of gated transport across membrane pores with wide biomimetic applicability.

      • Creation of Diamond/Molybdenum Composite Coating in Open Air

        For improvement of wear resistance property of atmospheric thermal plasma sprayed molybdenum (Mo) coating, diamond deposition on the atmospheric plasma sprayed molybdenum coating by the combustion flame chemical vapor deposition (CFCVD) has been operated. In this study, to diminish the thermal damage of the substrate during operation, a thermal insulator was equipped between substrate and water-cooled substrate holder. Consequently, diamond particles could be created on the Mo coating without fracture and peeling off. From these results, it was found that this process had a high potential in order to improve wear resistance of thermal sprayed coating.

      • Keratinocytes in culture accumulate phagocytosed melanosomes in the perinuclear area

        <P><B>Summary</B></P><P>There are many techniques for evaluating melanosome transfer to keratinocytes but the spectrophotometric quantification of melanosomes incorporated by keratinocyte phagocytosis has not been previously reported. Here we describe a new method that allows the spectrophotometric visualization of melanosome uptake by normal human keratinocytes in culture. Fontana‐Masson staining of keratinocytes incubated with isolated melanosomes showed the accumulation of incorporated melanosomes in the perinuclear areas of keratinocytes within 48 h. Electron microscopic observations of melanosomes ingested by keratinocytes revealed that many phagosomes containing clusters of melanosomes or their fragments were localized in the perinuclear area. A known inhibitor of keratinocyte phagocytosis which inhibits protease‐activated receptor‐2, i.e., soybean trypsin inhibitor, decreased melanosome uptake by keratinocytes in a dose‐dependent manner. These data suggest that our method is a useful model to quantitate keratinocyte phagocytosis of melanosomes visually in vitro.</P>

      • Income Distribution and the Business Cycle in Germany: A Semiparametric Approach

        The question of how the distribution of income is influenced by the state of the economy is important for understanding the economic mechanisms linking micro- and macro-level variables. There is no generally applicable theory on how the distribution of household incomes is influenced by changed macroeconomic conditions. This paper adapts an empirical approach in order to investigate this relationship by employing a semi-parametric double-index model without restrictions on the shape of the link function between indices of household- and macro-level variables. We conclude that the link function is non-trivial and non-additive, meaning that the influence of macroeconomic conditions (i.e. GDP, inflation, government expenditure or unemployment) is likely to vary with household characteristics. The influence found is small, but in parts significant, drawing a comprehensive picture of potential link-mechanisms.

        Effects of Candida utilis Treatment on the Nutrient Value of Rice Bran and the Effect of Candida utilis on the Degradation of Forages In vitro

        Candida utilis can assimilate fatty acids, so it was hypothesized that the treatment of rice by Candida utilis would improve feed quality by reducing fat content and adding the yeast function that would stimulate rumen microbes. In this study, the oil assimilation ability of Candida utilis IFO1086, 0988, 0626 and the effect of treatment of Candida utilis IFO1086, IFO0626 on the nutrient contents of rice bran were examined. The effect of Candida utilis addition on the in vitro degradability of forage was also investigated. It was found that the oil assimilating ability of IFO1086 and IFO0626 was significantly (p<0.01) higher than that of IFO0988. Candida utilis treatment reduced the EE content and increased the CP, ADF and NDF percentage. The absolute amount of ether extract was decreased by 35.9% in IFO1086 and IFO0626 treatment. The absolute amount of crude protein was not changed by yeast treatment. The ADF and NDF amounts were increased. The addition of Candida utilis increased in vitro forage degradability significantly (p<0.05). Based on these results it can be postulated that treatment of rice bran by Candida utilis may improve feed quality by reducing fat content, increasing the CP content and adding the function of yeast for stimulating rumen microbes.
