Objective: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of postural control through neck support on swallowing ability of children with swallowing disorder. Methods: Twenty-eight swallowing disabilities children were randomly divided into two groups. oth groups were administered 30 minutes a day for 5 times a week for 12 weeks according to the respective intervention methods. Outcome measures included Functional Dysphagia Scale(FDS), Penetration Aspiration Scale(PAS), and Electromyography(EMG). Results: The FDS, PAS, and the EMG score increased significantly(p<.05) in the group with postural control training before and after the experiment. Conclusion: Swallowing training through posture control is an effective treatment.

A total of 423 shellfish (Oysters, Crassostrea gigas; short-necked clams, Ruditapes philippinarum and corb shells, Cyclina sinensis) were collected from the west coast of Korea, from which 277 Escherichia coli strains were isolated. The antimicrobial susceptibility patterns of isolated strains were analyzed for 22 antimicrobial agents used in Korea for clinical or veterinary therapy. The resistance of E. coli isolates to ampicillin (37.2%) was highest, followed by cephalothin (21.7%), cefazolin (19.9%), trimethoprim (15.2%). Antimicrobial resistance was present in 56.7% of E. coli isolates against at least one antimicrobial agent. Of 277 isolates, 44 (15.9%) were resistant to multiple antimicrobial agents.
어류질병세균에 대한 천연식물 및 망태버섯 (Dicyophora indusiata) 추출물의 항균활성

양식어류 질병 세균에 대한 31종의 천연물을 70% ethanol로 추출하여 항균효과를 조사하였다. 그 중에서 망태버섯 ethanol추출물이 비교적 높은 활성을 나타내었으며, 망태버섯을 극성이 낮은 dichloromethane, ethyl acetate, n-buthanol, water의 순서로 분획하여 항균효과를 본 결과 ethyl acetate 추출물에서 모든 균주에 대한 clear zone을 형성하여 항균효과가 보였다. 또한 망태버섯로부터의 ethyl acetate 추출물을 Si-chromatography를 이용하여 fraction 별 7개로 분획하여 항균효과를 조사한 결과 Fraction 2 (Hx:EtAOc, 3:1)에서는 L. anguillarum에 대해 가장 항균효과가 뛰어났으며, Fraction 5 (DCM:MeOH, 5:1)에서 S, iniae가 가장 높았다. 그 중에서 세 균주에 대해서 공통적으로 항균활성이 높은 것은 Fraction 5로 나타났다. Ethanol extract obtained from bark, roots, leaves and seeds of 30 species of plants and mushroom, Dicyophora indusiata were examined antimicrobial effect on fish pathogenic bacteria, Listonella anguillarum, Lactococcus garvieae, Streptococcus iniae by disk method. Ethanol extract of D. indusiata was found to be the most active against all fish pathogenic bacteria in test system. Ethyl acetate fraction from ethanol extract of D. indusiata was found to be the most active against all fish pathogenic bacteria in test system. Ethyl acetate fraction from ethanol extract of D. indusiata showed the strongest compared with those from other solvent fractions such as dichloromethane, n-buthanol and water. The antimicrobial effect of ethyl acetate fraction was particularly evident against S. iniae.
어류 중 4계열 잔류 항생물질 검출을 위한 Lateral Flow Immunoassay Kit 개발

A lateral flow immunoassay kit based on antigen-antibody interactions was developed to detect residues of beta-lactams, quinolones, tetracyclines, and sulfonamides in farmed fish. Group-specific antibodies showing cross-reactivity with other antibiotics in the same group were produced in rabbits. The rabbits were immunized eight times to obtain the maximum titers. Antibodies were extracted from the antisera collected from the immunized rabbits and produced group-specific reactions with antibiotics from the four groups. A kit was prepared that optimize conditions for the antigen-antibody reaction, using colloidal gold conjugated antibodies, and was designed to detect the four groups of antibiotics simultaneously. The kit enabled the detection of antibiotics in the four groups at below maximum residue limits (MRLs), which were 200 μg/kg for tetracyclines, 100 μg/kg for sulfonamides, 50 μg/kg for beta-lactams, and 100 μg/kg for quinolones. The cross-reactivity of the antibodies ranged from 10-80% for the sulfonamides, 20- 100% for tetracyclines, 38-100% for quinolones, and 20-100% for the beta-lactams, confirming that the antibodies were group specific. The test kit was used 30 times to examine spiked antibiotics at the limits of detection (LODs) and all produced positive results, indicating high sensitivity. The LODs for the assay ranged from 4-20 ng/mL for beta-lactams, 25-50 ng/mL for sulfonamides, 20-100 ng/mL for tetracyclines, and 30-80 ng/mL for quinolones, and there were no false negative reactions at above these LODs. In addition, all of the LODs of the developed kit were correlated with high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) data. Our lateral flow immunoassay kit can simultaneously detect antibiotic residues from a large number of fish samples rapidly, strengthening the safety of domestic farmed and imported fish.

An endochitosanase-producing bacterium was isolated from soil and identified as a strain of Bacillus sp. The isolate was gram positive, rod shape (0.4-0.6×1.6-2.2 ㎛), endospore-forming, catalase positive, and mobility positive, and grown at pH 4.5-11.0 and upto 42℃ in the medium containing 2% NaCl. RAPD analysis of the DNA purified from the strain was also performed, and the chitosanase-producing strain was named as Bacillus sp. P16. The culture supernatant of the strain showed strong liquefaction activity and rapidly decreased viscosity of chitosan solution. By TLC and HPLC, chitooligosaccharides of DP 2-7 were separated and identified from the enzyme hydrolyzates of chitosan. The chitosanase from Bacillus sp. P16 was thus regarded as an endo-splitting type.
