I have studied the novel of Lee Mun-ku; Our village on the point of the cultural changings. The novel contrasted with the two aspects which the cultural elements of the rural and urban. The Our Village; the nine serial works, presented the rural community on the text without any exceptions. And also, the author presented the two cultural areas which are the rural and urban. The former is the tradition-oriented society, and the latter is the intended to the changings. The view-point of the author, specially, treated the problems of the cultural changings in the rural community which invaded from the urbanities. The author assumed a very critical attitude in his novels to the irrational phenomena which are brought from the government-oriented development plans in the 1970`s. And also, he shows very critical or negative attitude to the cultural changings in the rural community. Because the rural society is changing rapidly by the inflowing of the urbanic consumer economics. In the novels, the author, Lee Mun-ku analyzed the rural changings on the point of the impersonal relationships(pers0n to community or politics), and of non-family. So changings of the rural society is not the adjusted changings. but changings from the violence of the goverment. economical plan or urbanic cultural elements. And he also presented the every conflicts which arose from the unbalanced realities of the rural and urban society. Such different changings in the rural and urban society comes basically from the sudden industrialization in Korea, 1960`~-70`s. Finally, I analyzed the cultural languages in the text on the point of three levels: First, I analyzed to the cultural languages of the urbanic consumer or urbanic way of life. Second, I gave an attention to the political languages. Third, I gave an specific attention to the rhetoric languages, regional dialects, vulgarisms and rural words.

Recently use of renewable energies such as geothermal energy for space heating and cooling is increasing in Korea due to energy crisis and global warming. Ground source heat pump (GSHP) is known as one of the most environment-friendly HVAC (heating, ventilation and air-conditioning) systems in the world. However, some potential effects caused installation and operation of the GSHP systems on soil and groundwater environment are reported. The potential effects are closely related with inappropriate installation, operation and closure of the GSHP systems. In this paper, possible effects of the GSHPs on soil and groundwater environments are reviewed.

N/A Effects of 4-nonylphenol (4-NP) on mixed function oxygenase (MFO) in the kidneies of rockfish (Sebastes schlegeli) were investigated. The cytochrome P450 (CYP) contents and NADPH cytochrome P450 reductase, NADH cytochrome b5 reductase and 7-ethoxyredorufin-O-deethylase (EROD) activities of microsome, glutathione S-transferase (GST) activity of cytosol in rockfish exposed to 4-NP for 7 days using an intraperitoneal injection (25 mgkg) were quantitatively determined. The GST activity of rockfish exposed to 4-NP were higher, up to 5.2 times higher, than those in the control fish. The activities of NADPH-and NADH-dependent reductases were inhibited. On the other hand, CYP contents and EROD activity of the 4-NP exposed fish demonstrated neither an increasing or decreasing trend.
