In this paper, we presents an algorithm which generates its high-resolution map using a low-resolution 3D map of the sea floor terrain and fractal theory. Each patch region is divided from the 3D map and its fractal dimension is extracted. And then with this information, each cell in a patch is reconstructed using the midpoint displacement method. The effectiveness of the proposed algorithm is tested on a fractal terrain map.

Controlling engine coolant temperature is one of the tasks performed by today's cooling systems. In this paper, we present the PID control of vehicle cooling systems with a hydraulic coupling to overcome the inherent problem with direct-drive fans. The PID controller is tuned by a real-coded genetic algorithm(RCGA) and anti-windup is incorporated with the PID controller. Simulation is carried out to show the performance.

This paper deals with an development of screen technology for marine waste disposal. The conception of inverse inclined screen is introduced. For optimal solid-liquid separation the vibration frequency, vibration angle and vibration method are inquired. And the efficiency of proposed technology is proved through the field test.

This paper presents a scheme for designing a fuzzy model-based controller for two-tank systems. The fuzzy model is characterized by fuzzy "if-then" rules which represent local input-output relationships at several operating points whose consequence parts are called linear subsystems of a nonlinear system The parameters of the fuzzy model are adjusted by a genetic algorithm. Then an optimal state feedback controller is obtained based on the fuzzy model. A simulation on a two-tank system illustrates the performance of the proposed controller.

In this paper, a technique combining fuzzy gain scheduling with conventional PID control is presented for level control of a 3-water tank system. The proposed controller is implemented using a set of "if-then" fuzzy rules, which are of Sugeno-Tagaki's form. The parameters of both premise and consequence parts are tuned based on expert's experience and knowledge regarding the system on several operating conditions. Simulation results demonstrate the performance of the proposed method.

In this paper, a speed controller for DC motor systems based on inverse dynamics and a fuzzy technique is presented. The proposed controller consists of a prefilter, the inverse dynamic model of a DC motor system and a fuzzy logic controller. The prefilter prevents high frequency effects from the inverse dynamic model. The model of the system is characterized by a nonlinear equation with coulomb friction. The fuzzy logic controller regulates the error between the reference input and the system output which may be caused by disturbances, and it simultaneously traces the change of the reference input. The parameters of the model are estimated by a genetic algorithm. An experimental work on a DC motor system is carried out to verify the performance of the proposed controller.

The container load planning is one of key factors for efficient operations of handling equipments at container ports. This paper presents the problem of determining the optimal loading sequence of the containers which a straddle crane (S/C) picks up for minimizing its total travel distance. To obtain a good solution with considerably small effort, a heuristic search procedure based on a symbolic genetic algorithm is developed. The performance of the proposed algorithm is demonstrated throught a test problem.
적응퍼지제어기를 이용한 스테빌라이저 시스템의 자세제어에 관한 연구

The stabilizer system compensates the tracking system for the vertical, horizontal and directional deviations between the tracking system and reference frame. This stabilizer system can be applied to a satellite antenna on ships, a sun tracking system on moving vehicles, and a camera servo control loop to take a stable image against the vibration. In this paper, a stabilizer system using an active stabilization method is composed. An adaptive fuzzy controller is also suggested, which is applicable to systems with structural and parameter uncertainty. It is the 2nd/1st-type adaptive fuzzy control algorithm using advantages of 1st-type and 2nd-type adaptive fuzzy algorithm. Several simulations are executed for verifying the performance of the suggested method. Through experiments using a composed stabilizer system, tracking performances are evaluated.
