Purpose: The purpose of this study was to explore the learning transfer experiences of core basic nursing skills among new clinical nurses. Methods: Purposeful and snow ball sampling of 10 new clinical nurses were recruited from intensive care unit and general ward. Semistructured interviews were conducted and Colaizzi’s phenomenological methods were applied to analyze data. Results: Five theme clusters were revealed: greater realizing the importance of clinical skills, confirming core basic nursing skills to become a part of one’s, being swift and competent, gaining confidence connecting core skills training and practical experience, and leading to positive relationships with the superior nurses due to proficient clinical skills. Conclusion: New clinical nurses realize that core basic nursing skills is very important in clinical settings.

The importance of interface design has been emphasized since the end of 20th century and the principles of visual perception have applied to many interface design works. The purposes of this study are to understand the optical illusions which might represent the principles of visual perception, and to investigate designers` use experiences of them and their applicabilities to the future design works. The result of the study shows that designers have not highly used the optical illusions in their works. However, it is clear that designers highly agree that the illusions and understanding of them are useful in the cases they have used them in their works. This study also provides designers with some optical illusions and their practical application techniques for the future interface design. In addition, such results might be the bases of the future research regarding the principles of visual perception in the design research field.

The newly emerging flexible display is the interface of which physical form could be chanced. This paper shows the form factors of the flexible display interface and their factor values on the basis of understanding that the physical form is one of the most important parts that could affect user experiences. The form factors of the flexible display interface shown in this paper are Shape, Flexibility, Size, Multi-Surface, Texture and Transparency. Shape is divided into 8 factor values based on the geometric primitive. Flexibility is divided into 5 factor values based on the Rbending value. Size is divided into 4 factor values based on not only size itself but also the user context. Multi-Surface is divided into 5 factor values based on the number of the divide surfaces and their continuity. Texture is divided into 3 factor values based on the tactility and visuality. Finally, transparency is divided into 3 factor values based on the clarity of object through the display.

This study focuses on the optimal washing conditions for dry cleaning recommended fabrics to minimize dimensional changes using wet cleaning. We suggest water-based alternatives to a perchloroethylene based cleaning process. Wool and rayon fabrics were laundered under various washing conditions and then airdried for 24hrs. All specimens were extended after spinning and shrunk after drying. This is probably because the fibers were swollen and extended by wetting. The wool fabrics were shown to be acutely influenced by washing temperature and mechanical force. The optimal washing conditions for wool fabric to minimize the dimensional change implied a normal washing temperature and minimized mechanical force. For rayon specimens, dimensional change by a hand wash showed a remarkable decrease compared with a machine wash. Rayon fabric seemed to be influenced by the quantity of water contained in the fabric after spinning and washing time. Therefore, the desirable washing conditions for rayon fabric are to reduce the time required for washing and to increase the spin speed.

Flexible display interface is capable of creating new user behaviors based on its characteristics of outstanding surface representation and display transformations such as bending, rolling, and folding. Thus, it is being discussed that the newly emerging flexible display interface can offer a different user experience that the previous flat display couldn``t. However, as it is hard to find studies that identify the general attributes of user experience in the area of flexible display research, this study was intended to identify and label experience that users expect in a flexible display interface. For this purpose, this study first investigated literature reviews about user experience in previous digital media interface and flexible display interface and conducted interview research in order to reflect the users`` perception, collecting 52 items that represent user experience. In addition, these items were used as measurements to deduct different types of user experience, and 308 interviewees participated in the interview research process. As a result, 10 types of user experience were developed from the results of the survey: functionality, understandability, pleasure, convenience, familiarity, stimulation, adaptability, collectivity, reality, and aesthetic.
