In order to prepare for the commercialization of Korean tilting train, this study was made on the pre-analysis of risk factors that can happen during operation, and emergency measures for safe operation of tilting train. The purpose of the study of emergency measures is to help to make tilting train run safely by making counteraction procedures for unusual situations such as train breakdown or accidents during the operation of a tilting train so that the engineer can quickly take care of each situation. Based on the items of emergency measures for EMU operated by Korean Railroad(or Korail), possible breakdown items during operation were selected and prioritized considering the occurring frequency and emergency level of each breakdown. In addition to these items, by adding items to represent tilting train’s typicalfunctions such as tilting function error, tilting storage battery’s electric pressure drop, etc, a total of62 emergency items were finally selected and measures for each item was made.

KORAIL is planning to induce EMU(Electric Multi Unit) at the speed of 180㎞/h as an alternative of Saemaeul train(PP;Push-Pull) which is disappearing in 2012 according to the crapped trains out of date and the development of the area around Yong San train station. Accordingly, Korean Tilting Train eXpress(TTX) localized in 2013 has achieved the operation test of 100,000 ㎞ non-accident safely so far, and is continuously scheduled to go through an efficiency test and improvement of train in the future. This study scrutinized the proper manufacture settings of train by making preparation for TTX' import and operation, the whole economy efficiency by analyzing the operational cost such as operating revenue, labor cost, maintenance cost, and power equipment cost in accordance with the introduction of TTX. Therefore, we'd like to maximize the effectiveness of importation and operation of TTX by performing the study on decreasing the operation cost when TTX is working on.

Absorptive capacity has been increasingly thought of as a potential source of innovation. From the knowledge management perspective, absorptive capacity is composed of a set of activities dealing with acquisition, assimilation, transformation, and exploitation of external and internal knowledge. This study investigates what relationship the absorptive capacity of individuals who have technical knowledge in the organization has with process innovation and product innovation. Mobile based survey was conducted from the employees working for the largest electronics manufacturer in Korea. The analyzed data was based on 156 responses from 199 participants. The analysis result shows that four phases of absorptive capacity such as acquisition, assimilation, transformation and exploitation have different effects on process innovation and product innovation, respectively. Specifically, transformation is found to be most critical in leading to innovation.

This paper introduces the methode to improve the indoor air quality for Korea Tilting train express(TTX). TTX operates more than 80,000km in commercial line and in the near future service is expected. To improve air quality effective heat and cooling system is proposed. Also according to the ministry of environment guide line, major factor component are selected to Co2(carbon dioxide) and Pm10(particle matter). The database of the vital factor was accumulated by the various case of operation environment. Finally, optimal air condition controling device is developed and installed.

Objectives:To survey the incidence and risk factors of dementia on a rural elderly cohort. Methods:Two follow-up studies in 2000 and 2003 were done on 966 non-demented elderly residents who participated in 1st wave in 1996. A two-phase study was conducted using the Korean version of Psychogeriatric Assessment Scale in phase I and the diagnostic interview according to DSM-III R criteria by psychiatrists in stage II. Results:Of the 966 elderly residents who had not dementia in 1996 prevalence study, 592 residents in 2nd wave and 508 residents in 3rd wave completed the incidence study. Dementia was incident in 96 residents. The annual incidence rates per 1000 persons were 27.2 (CI:22.2-33.2). Annual incidence rates were rapidly raised from 10.6 (CI:5.3-21.2) in the age range 65-69 years to 88.9 (CI:55.3-143) in the age range 85+. Older age was a risk factor of dementia (p<0.05), and Education was a preventive factor of dementia (p<0.001). But, female, history of depression, alcohol use history and tobacco use history were not risk factors. Conclusion:The annual incidence rates in Korea were higher than those of other countries. High percentage of no educated person (58.8%) in this community may be related to the higher incidence rates. Weighting to sex and age in normal elderly population in Korea at 2003, The annual incidence rates of dementia per 1000 persons were 25.2, and the numbers of newly incident elderly persons every year were approximately hundred thousand.
