Velvet antler (VA) is a historically traditional medicinal supplement and is well known in Asian countries for its pharmaceutical and health benefits. The objectives for this study were to optimize the hot water extraction (HWE) of VA for the Korean VA industry, and to determine the most effective pretreatment method among microwave (MW), ultrasonication (US), and enzymatic (EZ) techniques. Using response surface methodology, optimum extraction temperatures and times were determined by central composite design configuration based on extraction yield and sialic acid content. Various quality parameters of VA extract including yield, soluble solid, protein, and sialic acid contents were also compared with the conjunction of HWE and pretreatment. The yield and sialic acid content of VA extract were determined to be 40% and 0.73 mg/g, respectively, under an optimum temperature of 100°C at 24 h of extraction time. The yields from VA extracts pretreated with MW, US, and EZ were 17.42%, 19.73%, and 29.15%, respectively. Among the tested commercial enzymes, pepsin was the most effective proteolytic enzyme and led to the highest yield (47.65%), soluble solids (4.03 ˚brix), protein (1.12 mg/ml), and sialic acid (3.04 mg/ml) contents from VA extract.

The crystallization characteristics of amorphous Se:Hg thin films were investigated by annealing the sample for various time. Amorphous selenium films were obtained by evaporation in vacuum, and that films were placed for a certain time in a closed vessel containing mercury. The treatment was kept under control by monitoring the resistance of the sample. The last process was the annealing the sample in vacuum at 73℃. As the annealing time became longer, the samples were crystallized better. The band gap of amorphous selenium thin film was found to be 2.09eV. After 3 hour annealing, the band gap of 10^5Ω Se:Hg thin film was found to be 1.85eV. A 10^5 Ω Se:Hg thin film sample was crystallized very well, but a 10^9 Ω Se:Hg thin film sample was not. After 3 hour annealing, the band gap of 10^9 Ω Se:Hg thin film was found to be 2.06eV. The transmittance in the transmission spectrum decreases with the increasing annealing time.
응급상황의 신속한 감지를 위한 u-Health 시스템 개발에 관한 연구

본 논문은 만성질환을 갖고 있으면서도 일상생활을 하고 있는 환자들의 응급상황을 신속히 감지하여 능동적으로 대처할 수 있게 하는 u-Health 시스템의 개발에 관하여 기술한다. 기울기 및 진동 센서, GPS, CDMA 통신 모듈 등으로 구성된 PHCH (Personal Health Care Host) 장치에 의해 환자의 위급상황이 신속히 감지되면 현재 환자가 위치한 위치정보를 병원과 보호자의 모바일 단말기로 문자 전송하여 상황에 즉각 대처할 수 있도록 한다. 특히, 시스템은 신경회로망을 이용하여 센서로부터 수신되는 신호 데이터를 분석하고 기절 또는 발작 증상과 같은 응급상황을 신속히 판단한다. 또한 환자의 응급 상황시에 GPS 데이터를 이용하여 환자의 위치를 지도에서 확인할 수 있다. 일상생활을 하면서 항상 주의가 필요한 만성질환자에게 이 시스템을 적용시킴으로써 응급 상황에 신속히 대처하여 귀중한 생명을 구할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.
