This paper aims at exploring financing methods for port development in response to unification of South and North Korea. In so doing, methods of port financing employed by major countries have been enumerated. Major financing sources for the two Korea, among others, taxes, public bond, public administration fund, establishment of harbour maintenance tax, port development tax, port development fund, Civil Economic Cooperation Fund of South and North Korea, and Fund for Port Development of North Korea and, fund for cooperation of South and North Korea, Economic Development Cooperation Fund, borrowing of foreign capital, project financing, domestic civil capital investment, foreign capital investment, application of cross-subsidization principle, etc. were suggested.

Korean container terminals that were constructed and equipped with container cranes (C/C) by the Korea Container Port Authority have been leased out to container operators. However, the last C/C installed at the PECT and GCT were financed by the terminal operators, according to request of KCTA caused by lack of funds. Many arguments have been made on the way how to share the investment costs of the C/C between KCTA and the operators. Having said that, the paper aims to draw reasonable proposal for the recovery of the investment cost to be shared between them on the basis of thorough cost analysis.

This paper aims to suggest for port development at the dawn of unification of South and North Korea. Referring to the case study of port development in the unified German and on the basis of investigation port traffic between the two Koreas, it is also concerned with direction for co-operation in the port sector and practical methods for implementing port development plans after and before the unification of the Korean peninsular.

This paper presents that in the conditions of extreme backwardness in the Korean shipping industry the ideology, which resulted from anti-Japanese nationalism and Confucianism, played a major role in overcoming the constraints to shipping development through driving the energies and imaginations of seamen labour during two decades after liberation from Japan in 1945. In other words, in the context of the Gerschenkron model, the ideology fulfilled its function for the Korean shipping growth. In the process of shipping growth, the above ideology produced the outcomes of two patterns, i.e. supply of seamen labour and entrepreneurs and successful management of a vested shipping company.

In the Baking process during photolithography, a temperature change of wafer on each bake unit induces CD(Critical Dimension) variation and reduces productivity. Thus, maintaining the wafer at a desired temperature, for a desired period of time, may enable uniformity in photo resist hardening and increase the quality of the underlying integrated circuit being manufactured. Also in baking apparatus, purges N₂ and thereby creates air stream a baking chamber while ventilating an internal atmosphere, so that a contaminant, such as a solvent evaporated from the substrate, which contaminates the substrate. In the present research, we have performed thermal and fluid flow analysis in the bake chamber. Computational simulation has been used to understand the effect of purging gas flow pattern on the temperature distributions of wafer and particle behavior. As a result of this, we understand the problems of present bake chamber and propose new design for bake cover to improve the temperature uniformity of wafer and reduce the particle contamination problems.
우리나라 연안여객석의 항로별 운항수지 분석에 관한 연구

This paper aims to classify and characterize all the Korean coastal routes of passenger ships and to analyse their profitability by route. The Korean coastal routes of passenger ships can be broadly divided into two: general route ( =non-subsidized) and subsidized route. Each of the two routes can be again classified into monopolistic route and competitive route according to the number of operating companies. Analyses on the profitability of coastal passenger ships deployed on the non-subsidized routes in the period of 1995-97 show: that all the competitive non-subsidized routes except two recorded net operating losses; that 39 routes of the total monopolistic non-subsidized routes posted net operating losses, while the rest of it, 16 routes, marked net operating profit. In the meantime. as for the subsidized routes, most monopolistic subsidized routes showed net operating profits, while competitive subsidized routes recorded net operating losses. The above results implies that some monopolistic subsidized routes with net profit may have to be changed to competitive non-subsidized routes and ships deployed on the some routes have to be replaced to improve profitability.
