        섬유 현탁액내 PAE 고분자 흡착의 열역학적 고찰

        본 연구는 섬유 교질-현탁액내 PAE 고분자 전해질의 흡착성향과 Lanumuir 및 Freundlich식 흡착 평형에 대한 열역학적 특성을 규명하기 위하여 수행되었다. 섬유의 계면동전위적 특성은 흐름-전기적 방법의 제타전위 측정에 의해 분석되었고, PAE 고분자 흡착량은 고분자 전해질용액의 PCD 적정을 통해 측정되었다. PAE 고분자 내첨은 지료의 제타전위에 크게 영향을 미쳤으며 내첨 초기에는 제타전위 상승 효과가 크게 나타났지만 시간의 경과와 함께 전하 감쇄현상을 나타내었다. PAE 고분자는 저온 또는 상온에서 준-Langmuir 흡착 거동을 보여주었으나 온도가 증가하면서 Freundlich 지수항(v)이 비례적으로 높아지는 결과를 나타내었다. PAE 고분자의 Gibbs 흡착 자유에너지로부터 산출한 트레인 수$(N_{seg})$는 상온에서 약 7~8의 범위로 나타났고 고분자 고리의 노출반경은 약 215 nm로서 $10^{\circ}C$ 온도상승에 대해 점차 9%씩 증가하였다. 지료 내 PAE 고분자의 흡착 엔탈피는 -27~-29 kJ/mol이며 저에너지 물리흡착임이 규명되었다. This study was to examine the thermodynamic features of polyelecrolytic adsorption of polyamidoamine-epichlorohydrin(PAE) in a papermaking wet-end. The PAE adsorption experiments were conducted in a stirred jar containing an aqueous fibrous suspension and evaluated in terms of Langmuir and Freundlich parameters. The electrokinetic property of a stock was examined by measuring the zeta potential of each colloidal suspension. The polyelectrolytic PCD titration was employed to determine the adsorbed amounts of PAE polymer. The zeta potential of a stock, being varied significantly depending upon the addition of PAE polymer, showed initially a sharp increase and later an exponential decay as a function of time . The PAE adsorption exhibited a pseudo-Langmuir adsorption behavior at$20^{\circ}C$ , whereas its Freundlich power(v) increased in a proportional way at an elevated temperature. The train numbers calculated on the basis of adsorption thermodynamics were 7 to 8. The length of the extended loop of PAE was calculated as 215 nm at $20^{\circ}C$ and increased at a rate of 9% at every $10^{\circ}C$ rise in temperature. The PAE adsorption was proven to be an exothermic physisorption with the estimated adsorption enthalpy of -27 to -29 kJ/mol.

        The authors present a case of brain abscess in a patient with primary mucociliary transport failure. Primary mucociliary transport failure is unfamiliar term to neurosurgeon. It encompasses three hereditary disorders, that is, primary ciliary dyskinesia, cystic fibrosis and Young's syndrome. Clinical manifestations in these disorders appear to overlap each other, e.g., male infertility and chronic sinopulmonary infections. These are characterized by ciliary dysfunction or abnormality of mucus secretion therefore recurrent infection occurs in organs containing the mucociliary transport system. Major causes of non-traumatic brain abscess are sinusitis and pulmonary infection. So the possibility of brain abscess is much higher if mucociliary transport failure exists. Especially, young patients who have brain abscess coexisting with chronic sinopulmonary infection should be considered primary mucociliary transport failure.

        수술중 시행한 척수 조영술의 유용성

        Objectives : There are many kinds of method to evaluate neural decompression during operation. They are direct visual and manual inspection, intraoperative ultrasound, endoscope, intraoperative computed tomography and intraoperative myelography. We used intraoperative myelography to evaluate the proper decompression of neural elements during the decompressive surgery. Methods : We injected 10-20cc of nonionic water-soluble contrast materials through direct puncture site of exposed dura during operation or lower lumbar level or lumbar drain inserted preoperatively. 12 patients were included in this study. They were 7 patients of centrally herniated lumbar disc disease, 1 patient of multiple lumbar spinal stenosis, 2 patients of thoracic extradural tumor and 2 cervical fracture & dislocations. Results : 5 of 12 patients showed remained neural compression through intraoperative myelography, so they were operated further through other approach. Myelographic dye is heavier than CSF, so the dependent side of subarachnoid space was visualized only. In one case, CSF leakage through hemovac was detected, but it was treated only bed rest for 5 days after hemovac removal. Conclusion :Intraoperative myelography is an effective method to evaluate neural decompression during spinal surgery. This technique is easy and familiar to us, neurosurgeons.

        종이내 수분확산 (제3보) -종이 표면의 수증기-흡습성에 관한 이론적 고찰-

        The study aimed at the theoretical analysis of vapor sorption properties of, pp.rmaking fibers. Water vapor affinity and sorption thermodynamic properties of fiber constituents were evaluated based on Henry's law and Hildebrand's solubility theory. Theoretical equilibrium moisture content(ThEMC) on fiber surface was estimated using functional group contribution. Crystallinity of cellulose in fiber significantly controlled the water vapor solubility. Comparisons of the measured equilibrium moisture content data and the estimated ThEMC data coincidently suggested the fact that crystallinity of cellulose in fibers was around 60% to 70%. Carbohydrates constituents including amorphous cellulose and hemicellulose in fibers showed higher vapor solubility than lignin molecules. High correlation existed between ThEMC and vapor solubility as well as between ThEMC and solubility parameter. In the thermodynamic analysis on water-vapor sorption process in fibers, the sorption enthalpy increased as RH increased, whereas sorption entropy and free energy decreased with increasing RH.

        종이내 수분확산(제1보)-종이의 방습성 평가를 위한 수증기의 정류상 확산 실험-

        A steady-state molecular diffusion experiment was conducted to evaluate the water vapor proof properties of paper Handsheets prepared from unbleached Itraft pulps(UKP) and old newspapers(ONP) and four different types of polymer-laminated white duplex board were tested under appropriate standard conditions. The diffusivity was determined on the basis of the Fickean first law. Results obtained from this study can be summarized as follows ; 1. The diffusivity data for handsheets showed about $10^{-5}cm^2/min$. whereas polymer-laminated paperboards had remarkably improved water-vapor resistance with about $10^3 to 10^4$ times lower diffusivity : 2. Sheet basis weight, wet-swelling and sizing degree had little influence on the diffusivity of paper; 3 Linear relationship existed between sheet density and diffusivity, and, 4. Highly sfgnificant linear relationship could be observed between diffusivity and Darcy s gas permeability. Results indicate that diffusivity, an intrinsic property of paper, can provide a valuable information for precise evaluation and improved quality control of water-vapor proof properties of paper.

        종이내 수분확산(제2보)-종이의 공극구조에 의한 수분확산 이론-

        The objective of this study was to investigate the relationship between water vapor diffusion properties and the pore structure of paper. Gas-phase molecular diffusivity of water vapor through pores was determined based on the kinetic theory of gas. A mathematical model was derived to characterize the dimensional changes of the pore caused by the fiber-swelling mechanism. A modified-Fickean diffusion model was designed to simulate the water-vapor diffusion phenomena in porous paper web. Structural characterisocs of paper pores including the tortuosity and the shape factor was studied on a theoretical basis of Knudsen flow diffusion. Results are summarized as follows: 1. The theoretical water vapor diffusivity in gas-phase was 0.092$cm^2$ /min, 2. Porosity was inversely proportional to the degree of wet-swelling of paper, 3. Solid-phase water-diffusivity of fiber was 1.2 $ \times 10^{-5}cm^2/min$, 4. Modified diffusion model was fairly consistent to the experimental data (from part I), and 5. The Fickean pore tortuosity, ranging from 1,000 to 2,500, was in inverse proportion to the porosity of paper, and the Knudsen shape factor and length-angle factor for micro-pores in paper were 0.5~3.5 and about 340, respectively.

        주거공간에서의 통합적 실내평가를 위한 공간별 가중치 산정 프로세스에 관한 연구

        Today, residential building is considered to be one of the most important space of their quality of life and health. Residential buildings should provide comfortable environments to support the activities of their occupants. And good residential buildings are made by appropriately combining residential spaces, such as living room, master bedroom, bedroom, kitchen, restroom, and so on. These combinations in residential building are must be compatible with the activities of the occupants and their needs. The objective of this research is to investigate and analyze the relative importance and space priority between residential space in residential buildings depending on occupants’ characteristics, such as, gender and age. Especially, this research is to find space weighting factors for integrative evaluation in residential buildings based on occupant survey. These weighting factors play an important role in determining the relative importance of various residential spaces for integrative residential space evaluation. And, the result from this research will help designers and researchers to find space planning strategies in residential building, and develop new integrative evaluation framework for improving residential quality from the occupants’ point of view.

        기획논문 : 문학과 일상, 혹은 비일상 ; 『조성당일기(操省堂日記)』를 통해 본 17세기 초 영남 사족의 일상 속의 문화생활

        『조성당일기』는 김택룡(金澤龍, 1547~1627)이 쓴 일기로서 총3권으로 이루어져 있다. 제1권은 1612년(광해군 4년, 김택룡 66세), 제2권은 1616년, 제3권은 1617년에 쓰여 졌다. 김택룡은 매일의 일상을 자세하게 기록하였고, 하루도 빠짐없이 기록을 남기기 위해 특별히 주의를 기울였다. 따라서 현재 전래되는 일기는 전체 일기 중일부분에 지나지 않을 것으로 추정된다. 김택룡은 퇴계 이황의 제자인 월천 조목의 수제자였으며, 과거에 급제하여 중앙에서 관직도 지냈다. 그의 집안은 조상 대대로 경상도 예안(禮安) 한곡(寒谷)에 거주했는데, 그는 한곡 이외에도 영주(榮州) 순흥 부근에 세 군데의 집이 더 있었다. 이곳은 사망한 전처 및 소실의 집이었던 것으로 추정된다. 한곡 본가와 이 집들 주변에는 경작지가 산재되어 있어 이곳에서 산출되는 농작물이 그의 주된 소득이었다. 그 밖에도 경상도 북부 이곳저곳에 시집간 딸들과 출계한 아들이 살고 있어 이들과 자주 왕래했다. 친족 이외에도 그는 지역 사람들과 폭넓은 만남을 자주 가져서, 도산서원 및 역동(易東)서원 관계자, 가르침을 구하러오는 유생, 지역의 명사들, 지역의 지방관 등과 끊임없이 교류했다. 그의 일상은 만남과 교류가 가장 큰 비중을 차지하고 있었다. 따라서 김택룡의 말년에 쓰인 이 일기는 한 개인의 일기를 넘어 당시 지역에서 사회적으로 매우 높은 지위에 있던 사족(士族)의 일상을 그대로 보여주는 좋은 표본이 된다. 『조성당일기』에는 김택룡이 일상속에서 향유했던 문화생활의 모습들도 다수 담겨 있다. 우선 그가 읽은 서적들이 등장하고 있는데, 성리학이나 도학 관련 서적은 거의 보이지 않고 주로 문장 학습과 관련된 책이 많다. 그의 문학적 관심은 주로 ``시``에 있었고, 산문은 사장(詞章) 혹은 역사에 관한 것이 많았다. 그에게는 가르침을 구하러 오는 유생들도 많았는데, 교육은 주로 과거 시험 준비를 위한 역사 고사와 문장 교육에 치중되었다. 김택룡의 문집인 『조성당집』에는 이백 여수의 시가 실려 있는데, 일기에도 종종 시가 등장하고 있어 그의 시에 대한 높은 관심을 잘 알 수 있다. 『조성당일기』에는 자연을 완상한 기록도 자주 등장한다. 소백산과 같은 지역의 명승지를 유람하기도 했지만, 그는 주로 집 주위의 대(臺)나 시내를 소요하며 소박한 자연미를 즐겼다. 『조성당일기』 전체에서 문화생활적 요소가 차지하는 비중은 그리 크지 않지만, 당시 지역에서 차지하는 그의 위상을 고려할 때 매우 중요한 사례로 평가할 수 있어 그 자료적 가치가 크다고 할 수 있겠다. A Diary of Choseongdang(操省堂日記) was written by Choseongdang Kim Taekryong(金澤龍, 1547 ~ 1627). It consists of three volumes. The first volume was written in 1612, and the second and the third in 1616 and 1617. He kept a diary everyday and tried to put on a detailed record. The existing diary is estimated a part of the whole. Kim was the pupil of Wolcheon(月川) Cho Mok (趙穆) who was also the student of Toegyeo(退溪) Yi Hwang(李滉). He passed the state examination, and entered government service. His family had lived for generations and owned a house in Hangok(寒谷) of Yean(禮安) of Kyeongsang province, and he also three more houses in Sunheung(順興) area of Yeongju(榮 州). These houses were originally owned by his dead wife and two concubines. Around his houses were scatterd farms of his own that was his economical base. His married daughters and a son who was adopted by another family lived in northen area of Kyeongsang province. He met his family members of this area very frequently. He also kept a frequent meeting with the local people such as the personnel of Dosan(陶山) lecture hall and Yeokdong (易東) lecture hall, the students who came for his lesson, social celebrities, governers of his area, and so on. Meeting was the most important thing in his daily life. This diary contains a detailed record of these meetings. Kim Taekryong was a opinion leader and the one of the most influential people, and therefore this diary shows how the noblemen of Kyeongsang area lived a daily life. A Diary of Choseongdang contains the cultural life of Kim Taekryong. It shows what kind of books he read. The books in the diary were mainly literary and historical ones. The neo-confucianism books were scarcely seen in the dairy. There were many student who came for his lesson. His literary lesson was mainly focused on historical events and the art of writing for the state examination. Kim`s selection of literary works contains over two hundred poems, and this diary also contains several ones. This shows that his main interest in literature was a poetry. The diary also recorded his appreciation of nature. He went sightseeing for the area of scenic beauty such as Sobaeksan(小白山), but he mainly appreciated natural beauty in the vicinity of his house. He enjoyed to take a stroll in streams or hills around his house. A culture was a small component in his daily life, but considering his high cultural position in that time cases of cultural life in this diary can be estimated good examples for the study of the noblemen`s culture in 17th century`s Kyeongsang province.
