In this paper, in order to apply the training and teaching of fields engineers and operators, and optimal setting and operation of protective relay, we propose a generator simulator of power plant protection. Based on the analysis of the generator control system, the components of simulator modeled in PSCAD and implemented by OMICRON, DIGSI. In addition, the interface of the simulator was designed in LabVIEW. The simulator can simulate the very similar conditions as the actual faults by reflecting the protective factors and operating conditions of the relays installed in the field. Therefore, the simulator can improve coping ability of IED performance and to utilize it as educational equipment for IED’s operator.

Since opening of the high-speed railway in 2004, the rate of electrification has been increasing rapidly, and safety of the supply of AC railways has become very important. With the expansion of unmanned substations and digital substations, digital protective relays in feeding system need more attention. For accident prevention, it is necessary to develop accurate modeling and simulation technology for railway feeding devices of electric railway. And it is also important to educate and practice how to use the developed technology. The study will be usefully applied to the construction of new lines as well as existing lines.
