본 연구는 변성 및 단층의 영향을 받은 운모편암의 풍화 특성에 관한 고찰로 여러 실내 실험을 통하여 운모편암의 풍화 특성을 규명하였다. 물리적-화학적 풍화현상을 모사한 동결-융해실험은 운모편암에 발달한 엽리면의 영향으로 일축압축강도의 저하가 풍화상태에 따라 $20{\sim}40%$ 발생함을 보여주고 있다. 서로 다른 풍화등급의 가진 시료에 대하여 슬레이킹 내구성 실험을 실시한 결과 단층파쇄대 부근의 심한 풍화상태의 시료의 내구성 지수가 상대적으로 신선한 시료보다 낮음을 볼 수 있었다. 슬레이킹 실험 전후의 시료에 대한 XRD 분석을 통하여 건습에 의해 녹니석과 같은 점토광물이 용탈되는 광물의 동적변화 양상을 알아보았다. 시간에 따른 운모편암의 거동은 크릴시험을 통하여 알아보았는데 이 역시 암석내에 발달한 엽리면에서의 거동이 주요한 변형 원인으로 나타났다. 불연속면의 전단특성은 불연속면에 충진되어 있는 점토광물의 영향을 많이 받고 있으며 최대전단강도와 잔류전단강도의 차이가 크게 발생함을 볼수 있었다. 이러한 실내실험들은 운모편암의 공학적 특성은 엽리면 혹은 불연속면의 거동에 많은 영향을 받을 것이라는 것을 보여주고 있다. This study shows the weathering characteristics of mica-schist affected by faulting and metamorphism through laboratory tests. Frozen-thaw test, which simulate the physical-chemical weathering processes in the laboratory, shows the important influence of foliation developed in mica-schist, resulting in $20{\sim}40%$ reduction of UCS according to weathering grade of rock. Slaking durability test was carried out for different weathering grade rock specimens and indicated that the specimens from fault area had a low durability index compared to other relatively fresh samples. XRD analysis allowed to estimate the dynamic evolution of mineral composition through wet-dry cycle in which the chlorite was the most important mineral leached out during slaking test. The creep test indicated that the main deformation produced along the foliation plane. The compacted clay minerals between discontinuity planes influence on the discontinuity shearing properties and result in a big difference between peak shear strength and residual strength. The results of laboratory tests on mica-schist show the possibility of a important deformation along the foliation plane or discontinuity.

Violent or severe persistent coughing is rarely associated with rib fracture. We report a rare case of a coughinduced rib fracture in a patient without any traumatic history or any other underlying disease. A 32-year-old female presented to the emergency department complaining of having had right-sided pleuritic chest pain for 5 days. She had a background of an 8-week coughing illness. A posteroanterior view of the chest radiograph showed no definite fractured line. Chest computed tomography revealed a subtle break cortical line of the 7th rib in the right-sided chest wall. Early identification of a cough-induced fracture of the rib by using computed tomography may avoid unnecessary further work-ups including laboratory examination and may lead to appropriate discharge instructions including rest and reassurance. The clinical presentations and radiologic findings of rib fractures caused by coughing are presented along with a review of the literature.
마늘로부터 항암성 성분의 추출 및 그의 항암성활성 측정에 관한 연구

The number of patient with tumor is rapidly getting increase year by year, but antitumor agent has not been much developed, Therefore the studies on the development of anticancer drug is one of the most important task in the medical science field. In this study I have attemped to obtain basic data for the development of anticancer drugs from the garlic. The cancer cells used were leukemic cells (L5178Y) and sarcoma 180 cells cultured in vitro and in vivo, respectively. The garlic extracts were prepared by extraction in water at room temperature and 90℃ to 100℃, and two filtrates were prepared by removing of acid insoluble part from above both extracts, The experimental results obtained are summarized as follows; 1. The garlic extract obtained at room temperature inhibited the growth rate of leukemic cells (L5178Y) in vitro, However the effect was not proportional to the concentration of the extract added, and the inhibitory effect appeared strongly at above range of a given concentration. 2. The garlic extract at 90℃ to 100℃ also inhibited the cell growth (5178Y) in vitro and the inhibitory effect was parallel to the concentration of extract added, 3. Acid insoluble part in garlic extract prepared at room temperature was shown no inhibitory effect, but that in boilled (90℃ to 100℃) garlic extract indicated considerable inhibitory activity. 4. Survival time of Swiss mice inoculated the sarcoma 180 cells was extended by treatment with garlic extract, (specially in injection group) compared with the control group. From the above results it was found that water extracts of garlic. were shown the inhibitory effects on the growth of some cancer cells.
러시아의 인구감소와 국제이주민의 유입 : 인적자원 문제와 관련하여

In recent years Russian population has rapidly decreased, which resulted in the insufficiency of human resources in the country. This article examines whether international immigrants in Russia may be an alternative source of labor force. For this goal, I investigate the number of immigrants, their native places, original nationalities, and average age, and their new residential areas and economic spheres where they find work in Russia. Data from the Russian National Statistical Office are used for this analysis. During the past 4-5 years, in the second half of the 2000s, international immigrants are becoming an important part of human resources in Russia. I argue that they are mainly labor immigrants, on the basis of the following facts. First, among the international immigrants in Russia, the percentages of the population of working age, especially in their twenties, are increasing. Second, their residential areas are spreading to various regions beyond the Central Federation District. The majority of foreign laborers is rapidly being legalized and the proportion of laborers from Central Asia is increasing. Generally they are engaged in manufacturing, mining and construction industries in the Urals and Siberia as well as in the Central Federation District. These phenomena lead us to a conclusion that international immigrants, now flowing into Russia, can become alternative labor resources in Russia.
