        Metal oxide semiconductor field-effect transistor (MOSFET)-based direct monitoring of p53 in spiked serum

        We describe the direct monitoring of p53 in a human serum sample by a metal oxide semiconductorfield-effect transistor (MOSFET) biosensor. The biomolecular interaction between DNA and p53 proteinwas measured using a DNA-modified MOSFET under the condition of physiological ionic strength. Treated with p53 in serum, a MOSFET exhibited a comparable change in the drain current, while noalteration in response to serum spiked with DNA binding-defective p53 was observed, leading to a goodagreement between theory and experiment. Our data suggest that a MOSFET device can be potentiallyused for the determination of p53 in serum samples on the basis of DNA–protein interaction.

        Electronic nose has been developed for detection of various hazardous molecules, especially vapor organic compounds (VOCs), by adsorption and desorption phenomenon. However, although conventional electronic noses have provided many advantages such as simple detection and high sensitivity, they still need advanced technologies for selective specificity in real samples. In this review, we provide bionanoelectronic noses with natural receptors for selective odorant detection. This review includes from fabrication of natural receptors and conducting nanomaterials to bioelectronic noses. We also discussed their perspective applications for the future at the conclusion.

        Gas Sensor-Based Techniques for Detecting Ethylene (C2H4)

        Ethylene (C2H4) is a crucial plant hormone that regulates fruit ripening and aging. As the only gaseous plant hormone, ethylene has been identified as a significant contributor to produce spoilage, causing economic losses of billions of dollars annually. To address this issue, the development of a biosensor that can accurately and specifically monitor ethylene levels as an indicator of production loss is of paramount importance to the fruit, flower, and vegetable industries, owing to its potential to mitigate losses and increase profits. Consequently, there is an increasing demand for affordable, reliable, and improved methods for rapid and accurate detection and quantification of ethylene. Consequently, the selection of appropriate sensor solutions should specify the requirements and contexts of individual applications. In this review, we explore the recent progress in chemical sensing technologies for ethylene detection and highlight the current research trends and future challenges in this field.

        2010년도, 중소병원 약제부서 의료기관 인증제 평가문항 관련 현황 분석결과 및 시사점을 통한 향후 개선 방향에 관한 연구
